The 9th Avenue subway station is just a 3 minute walk from this Brooklyn hotel. Kings Hotel features a karaoke bar and a 32-inch flat-screen TV with HBO in every room.
Score from 447 reviews Good
Very convenient for local transit to & from Manhattan/JFK Airport.
High noise levels from elevated subway lines nearby.
Dirty noisy would never recommend it!
How noisy it was staff was rude hair on the sheets dirty expensive
cleaners were very helpful efficient and prompt always pleasant when you met them in the elevators and hallways: convenience of short walk to subway and bus;
My booking requests were not met, even though done approx 2months in advance: the television never worked properly - no attempt to fix: room provided on arrival at 2 am was unsuitable
Noise Rude staff Bed bug found in the bed Hair and unidentified dirt in the bed Drug traiding next door Unsafe neighborhood
Close to the metro.
Very close to the railway overpass, and the trains run all night. Tiny breakfast room - we had to eat standing up. Small choice. Dodgy neighborhood. Avoid.
It was really okay for the price. What do you expect when you pay that price. So it was okay.
I like the convienence of getting to and from the public transportation system.
The loneliness of the location.
It was clean.
The room was a bit small. And we were right opposite the vending machine and dining area so whenever people come to use either we heard they're entire conversation.
Because I was familiar with NY and did not have a car the location was good. Convenient to all forms of public transportation which would take you into Manhattan. The room was nice, small, cosy. The small hallway well lit.
Picture is somewhat deceiving. Location is in an industrial area not very appealing. For the price the breakfast was very limited. You had to pay for coffee! The TV reception on many of stations very poor. Check-in made me feel it was an unsafe area. Person was behind glass enclosure
Access to Subway - Broadway junction Reasonable price
Noise, much too noisy! Location and surroundings Size of breakfest room, 2 tables only
Located close the train. Easy access to various areas of Brooklyn.
Limited parking available. Wifi periodically cut out.
Wifi, breakfast, free parking
This hotel is at the intersection of several subway lines so trains are passing by regularly on two sides. They have tried to soundproof but the noise I'd deafening at times.
The attitude of the staffs and the cleanliness of the hotel
Clean and friendly! Looks nice in the inside, and free breakfast
I was allowed to use the computer in the hotel to look for other accommodation I wanted my money back the smell was overwhelming and the security screen in the reception was something I had never seen in a hotel like that before where you talk to them behind an inch of unclean scratched perspex.
I did not like being misled by booking.com you need to ensure that what your advertising is in harmony with really what the hotel is like I hold you fully responsible for my waste of time and money and having to relocate away from my schedule
The staff friendly,
Late check at 3:00 PM and early check out at 11:00 AM
Location - right beside the subway line Noisy - train running all night Customer Service - very poor Room - dirty, the bed was made up but room was very dusty Bathroom - needs more attention
For a budget stay, our room was good--except for the train noise! Despite being in a room on the non-train side of the property, the noise took getting used to . Bring earplugs. The neighborhood is sketchy and we did not go out after dark--no place to go near the hotel, anyway! But the staff were proper and helpful, the room was clean, well appointed, and well maintained. Close to train (!) into Manhattan. And (major plus) this place had a small fenced parking lot in which we parked our car, free , for the duration of our stay. We hadn't expected that.
Train noise, neighborhood , and no place to go nearby to eat .
The price, close to the metro station
The location, it's deep in Brooklyn, a taxi from Manhattan can't find it.
The room was clean.
Poor breakfast. And the tv was and no good reception on some channels. Sleep was very disturbing at times with the train padding overhead.
Rooms clean and ok.
Location very poor, train runs over hotel. Noisy
Nothing about this dive
Noise from subway and pipes all night long
The proximity to public transportation
We arrived with a lot of luggage at 12pm. Check in wasnt until 3pm and they told us it would be $45 to check in early. We left our bags at the front office to avoid the outrageous fee and they gave us a tag to reclaim our luggage at a later time. I travel alot around the world and I never had a problem checking in early to a room if one was available, and I never had to pay $45 to do so. This was a major inconvenience. Next the coffee maker in our room was filled with water, the housekeeper failed to clean it prior to our arrival. We turned the bed down and there was brown flakes in it. My husband and I decided to sleep on top of the covers instead. We stayed from friday to Sunday morning. Checkout was at 11. Most hotels have atleast A one hour grace period for late risers, when we called to see if we could check out at 12 so we wouldnt have to rush they told us it would be $15 per hour charge after 11. They said even if we checked out 5 minutes late that the charge would be accessed. I have been to 5 star hotels, down to 2 star hotels and I have never had a problem with late checkout. This hotel is small, dirty, greedy, and the location is very scary. There were dangerous looking men around the neighborhood, my husband and I were very scared coming to the hotel from the subway station. Be wary of this location. Dont carry valuables. There was some gang activity. The local diners had drug activity and was scary, I do not recommend eating or hanging out in the area. The price for the hotel is not worth money. Stay away!!!!!!
