Breakfast and the mattress
The hot tub had no pressure compared to the first visit. I had to pay extra for this service/ wasn't worth it
Staff nice and great location
breakfast and cleanliness of the breakfast room
I was very pleased with my stay at The Black Swan Inn. The accommodations & service exceeded my expectations. The rooms had been thoughtfully renovated with nice colors & finishes, and conveniences like a bedside alarm clock with built-in USB to charge my phone. What sold me when I booked the room was the photo showing the over stuffed mattresses. It turns out they were as comfortable as they looked, ..like sleeping on a cloud! I would definitely recommend the Black Swan and look forward to my next visit!
What can I say, ..I couldn't find anything not to like.
Lake view from room
Breakfast area dated - needs refurb.
the location, was excellent, the room with good size, everything ok
The bed was the best we have encountered in 3 weeks of travel
The building decor is tired.
We were moved to a new room because our first room had a defective bathroom fan. Our second room was fine!
The whole place wasn't clean. Breakfast room was pretty bad. Hallways were awful. Popcorn ceiling was all over the floor. Would never ever refer anyone to this place. Definitely overpriced for what we got!
The excellent response of the staff to the problems of (a) late room availability and (b) the failure of the hot water heater and the changing of our rooms-three, for the second night of our stay.
The over-all appearance of the Inn needs to be upgraded - it has a worn aged look to it.
The Black Swan is lovely, quaint and in a wonderful location. Don't expect the amenities of a chain hotel, but in exchange you get the quiet, beautiful spot that is very much New England. I would definitely go back again.
The price was more than I would have expected to pay; however, during the summer season with the BSO performing at nearby Tanglewood, I am sure the rate wasn't much more than other hotels in the area.
The view of the lake Refrigerator in rm. Good thick towels Keurig coffee maker Bombay restaurant on site is excellent--beware, portions are enormous! Friendly staff
No walking path around the lake, scary path along Rt. 20 into Lee, or scarier still into Lenox Expensive kayak rental Screen door doesn't lock, so one can't comfortably leave the door open overnight to enjoy the natural cool air No bathroom fan
The lake. Staff was friendly. Room was nicely done with good beds and accessories.
Not clean - dirt behind room doors, dusty on lower shelving and under furniture, carpets/floors not clean, hallways unkempt and dreary. Staff slovenly dressed and groomed. Smell of Indian food.
Had a corner room. View was crazy. Deck out looking the lake. Staff wonderful.
I liked the location - close to Tanglewood
I feel that the price was excessive for what you actually got. But I also think that all the hotels up there are doing this. So, they aren't alone.
Rooms and bathrooms seem updated nicely Continental breakfast was nice but could use more room
Lobby and hallways still smell musty and they and the breakfast room need to be updated
location is good
"Breakfast included" consists of pastry and dry cereal. No bar facilities Restaurant questionable Definitely over-priced
Setting Comfortable bed - not too soft
It was clean. People were friendly. It was a peaceful spot. Very easy to get to Tanglewood and downtown Lee.
The pool was not open. I would not swim in that lake. After seeing the facilities , I thought it was over priced.
The smell of disinfectant in the room was stifling. Restaurant with bar closed early so no place to hang out or get a drink after cultural events in the area.
Staff, location, rooms
Breakfast lacked variety
Room decor very drab and dark. Breakfast room quite miserable Very expensive
Proximity to Tanglewood and no minimum stay requirement.
very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable modern rooms and beds. Very clean.
a bit of noise from the road
Beautiful view from balcony; friendly helpful staff;
The setting was great-very scenic and relaxing. It was like stepping back in time. The desk clerk told us about the beach down the trail. It was beautiful.
The Indian cuisine restaurant didn't quite fit with the facility and the location. Parts of the hotel need a little updating.
Convenience to Cranwell Resort & location on Laurel Lake. I didn't do any eating or socializing there as I was involved with a reunion. People / Staff I did see were attentive & Friendly.
