Ramada Lake Shore Chicago  

La situation géographique est intéressante pour visiter Chicago. Nous sommes mêmes allés à pied jusqu'au musée des sciences. Pour les visites centre ville nous avons utilisé la navette à l'aller...... Restaurant maison intéressant en rapport qualité prix.

Heures de retour de la navette non fiables, donc navette non utilisable pour le retour (nous recommandons le retour par le Métra, surtout pas par le métro.... Sauf si on souhaite découvrir des quartiers variés de Chicago.....) Wifi: nous avons d'abord dû changer de chambre, car trop loin du routeur. La connexion ensuite était peu fiable: immédiate mais très lente et très aléatoire. Pas de frigo ni de micro onde dans la chambre...

Bien situé au calme et en bordure du lac.très agréable avec une voiture. Sinon assez loin du centre..

L'hôtel dispose de navettes qui vous emmènent gratuitement dans le centre ville.

Climatisation bruyante et impossible à régler correctement (trop froid ou trop chaud). Hôtel bruyant en général. Voitures qui circulent toute la nuit sur le Lake Shore Drive juste à côté. Trou dans le lavabo. Baignoire bouchée, crasse qui ressort du siphon, dégoutant. Robinetterie vétuste. Vieille télé cathodique essoufflée. Pas assez de prises de courant disponibles.

Very poor internet connection outdoor distance from the restaurant

The second day the staff was excellent and corrected the mistake made the night before. The could not do enough for us!

I had the booking printed off and took with me. Thank god I did. We booked a king non smoking room and when we got there we were told the reservation was for a 2 double beds. I said no it was for a king and he stated that kings were given on a first come first serve basis. Which I told him that was no way to do business!! We were given a king smoking room that first night which smelled attrocious, but the very next moring everything was straighted out and the staff were very apologetic.

The shuttle service, free parking, easy access to University of Chicago Hospital. The Lake Shore Cafe had good food also.

Room was very warm, even with the heat turned off. Had to open window in the middle of January to get comfortable. There was no refrigerator in the room.

That is was in Hyde Park.

No heat control in lst room they gave us. Had to carry heavy luggage across parking lot and up many, many steps to 2nd room. Price was quoted as total and then in very small words the taxes were added on - total means total not add ons.

Changing of the floor carpet, soap is bad

The standard was not very high, but the location was good, because it was close to my meeting at McCormick Place. Most of the front desk staff was friendly and helpful.

Not having any internet in the room is the largest disadvantage for a business traveler. One needs to cross the parking lot in the dark and during cold/wet weather to get to the lobby for wireless connection.Even that is very slow and my daily emails took me 2 hours every evening. They provided a bus service to the rsna meetting, but it was not well organized. The small van they had did not fit everyone who wanted to go and people had to stay behind. In the evening the bus stopped at a different location than announced on the handout. When I arrived the first night, the heater in the room did not work and I had to go back to the lobby to get the key for another room. During a windy night, the windows were rattling very loud. The staff at the nearby Lakeside Cafe was not very motivated. One morning I asked for coffee, but had to ask again after 10 min wait, when others coming after me were already served. Even though 6:30 is listed as the start time for breakfast, the buffet far from ready at that time..

Receptionin general is non helpful. No attention, Anything I want is a bother. They promised a shuttle to MaKormic place: turned out the first trip is : nobody knows : 8-9 Am, my conference start at 7:30. I ended up paying daily parking at the conference which is not cheap. Safety is a concern Stay away: you can do better for 100 dollar a day

Room is too hot

The Ramada was decent in location-the lake front view was especially nice.

When we stayed at the Ramada, we were instantly met with frustration. We first were booked into the wrong room and politely enough we were put into the room we originally booked, however, there was no wifi. We were told that if we wanted wifi, we would have to stay in rooms that currently had no heat/heater. In October..of course we wanted heat. (Some people were booked into these rooms with no forewarning). Though not having wifi was not the end of the world (more of an annoyance than anything), travellers should not have to choose whether they freeze all night or not have internet when there on a business trip.
