Our stay was lovely and the views are incredibly beautiful. The gold room was quaint and charming, beds were unusually comfortable, and bath towels were luxurious. Breakfast was delicious--a true culinary feast. Kudos to the chef, and Mary Kelly, the GM, for a delightful Manor experience. We'll be visiting again!
The Keurig station could use an overhead ceiling light, and coffee cups should be replaced with generous size mugs.
Not getting to stay longer
The breakfast in the main house was good and we had a pleasant conversation with the owner.
We were demoted to the cottage (which was in very poor condition) because the owner said they were having problems with your booking service. It was shabby, crowded, cold, and certainly not worth the cost. We left after 1 night. The rooms may be nice in the house, but we did not see one.
One of the best B&Bs I have ever stayed at! Thick soft down bedding soft clean sheets and down blankets. Awesome awesome shower in Amethyst Room. House is filled with beautiful decor and antiques. Breakfast was amazing next to the fireplace with breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge mountain range. Fresh strawberry yogurt with granola, bowl of large beautiful raspberries, cantaloupe, kiwi; tasty home fries; bacon and ham and egg tart (like a large individual quiche) with two slices of the best bacon on top, cranberry and orange juice in stemware, pot of smooth dark coffee. There really isn't enough time to rave about all if the superlatives of this place. I'm planning a trip in March just to spend two or three days here and visit all of the antique markets in the town of Dillard. There must be 50+ antique markets there and a great cafe just down the hill from Rabun Manor for dinner.
Haha nothing - this place is really nearly perfect. Nancy is a perfect host (and one of the owners). Really, if you go anywhere near Dillard and don't stay here - you are really missing out on a truly memorable experience and a fantastic value.
The breakfast and setting were outstanding. Manager and co-owners were very pleasant.
Stayed in loft cottage and found it a bit awkward to access the main building. Having a sign on the main highway would aid in locating the manor.
Had a wonderful time! All the staff were wonderful! Fantastic Breakfast! Will be back!
The bed was absolutely cozy! The breakfast more than I could eat!
Wonderful views. Excellent breakfast. Soft thick towels and duvet.
Excellent food for breakfast. Very nicely arrayed presentation and the staff was very friendly. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean and pleasantly decorated. It is a very scenic place and charming atmosphere.
The pictures of the manor suggested that the bed and breakfast was a bit more out in the country rather than right up against the main road and I never did see any signage leading to the manor while travelling on the main road. I had to stop and ask for directions. i would recommend a sign posted for travelers coming from either direction.
All we can say is the website does not do the place justice. It is a beautiful house and our room was just perfect, the house itself was such a surprise, so spacious and well maintained, it looked like something out of a magazine. So happy we chose to stay here, it was just so lovely and our breakfast was fabulous. Thank you so much Nancy.
Wonderful scenic mountain views, beautiful decor, most comfortable bed, delicious breakfast, lovely landscaping, close to shops and Cupbord Cafe for other meals. Friendly and charming peaceful visit.
My wife and I and our 4-month old boy spent 3 nights at Rabun Manor and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful. The views from the front porch are spectacular! We stayed in the cottage. It was clean, quiet, and very peaceful. The staff and owners of RM were extremely friendly and accommodating. The highlight of our trip would have to be the breakfast! The breakfasts were incredible. Different every day, but just really really good! We would highly recommend RM to friends, family, or anyone. We'll be back!
We were welcomed by Mary and shown to our room. It was large, beautifully furnished, with a view overlooking the valley. It had a thick fluffy towels, an impressive 5 head shower and the most comfortable bed. Also, breakfast was lovely.....delicious and beautifully presented. We especially enjoyed spending the evening sitting on the front porch and on the upstairs balcony. The whole experience was exactly what we were looking for, and we will definitely stay there again when headed to the mountains.
Beautiful place, both inside and out. We loved the room we stayed in, and the breakfast was fabulous! Managers and staff were friendly and helpful. There is a small room upstairs in the main house where they keep some drinks and snacks for guests. Fresh cookies were downstairs each evening. There is a lot to do in the area, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
The only issue we had was with the door lock. It did not work correctly at the time. I would think this has probably been repaired.
Breakfast was very fancy and absolutely delicious! The staff was very friendly.
The Wi-Fi service was poor. Our room would not lock, so we could not leave our belongings inside while away.
The friendliness and accommodating spirit of the owners. The view is spectacular as was the food. We stayed in a cabin which was very rustic, but new bathrooms and comfortable bed.
Not as clean as it could be and the lighting in room is rather poor for elderly eyes.
Facilities were very quaint. The furnishings were great for the period. The breakfast that was provided was just plain outstanding. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
The only thing we did not care for was the dogs on the premises. If you are an animal lover, this place is for you. My wife is uncomfortable around loose animals so this was the only reason we did not give an excellent rating.
Excellent place to stay..The staff was awesome and most friendly. Breakfast were excellent. Will return in the future.
The house was beautiful and has an interesting history. The owner, Nancy, greeted us at the door and showed us around, told us about local restaurants and attractions. She could not have been nicer. There were snacks and coffee available and waters in our room. Our room was a good size, clean, well decorated and well lit. The bathroom was a good size, renovated and the glass shower had several heads.
We were unable to control the thermostat for the air conditioning in our room. The owner had warned us about this, but at the time, the room felt nice and cool. When it was time to go to bed, it was rather hot and the bedding, although luxurious, was rather warm. We were unable to take advantage of the brunch, which sounded very nice, because it was not served until 10 am on Sunday and we had to be somewhere at 10 that morning.
The location was beautiful; beautifully decorated; a lot of thought and care has gone into the presentation; the breakfast was not only appealing to look at but was delicious and Nancy, the owner, was a delight. I cannot say enough positive things about the experience.
This is exactly what we were looking for, quiet, clean, no phone, no TV, beautiful scenery, and the staff was the best part, there when you needed one but not there when you wanted peace and quiet. The food was just perfect.
I loved the good, both dinner and breakfast that Rabun Manor offered. Very yummy! One of the young servers at the restaurant was the sweetest thing ever. Very great service from her.
Few hiccups when we fits arrived that threw our stay a little off.
The staff was wonderful, and treated us like family! The property was beautiful and peaceful as well as the scenery. The food was phenomenal! We even stayed an extra day!!
Nothing at all! It was perfect!!
Everything: the location, the wonderful warm welcome: the owners and their personal touch: much more than a bed and breakfast truly an experience second to none.the food was exceptional and the staff so polite and helpful. We have already recommended it to others.
There was nothing at all to not like.
The B&B is a 180 year old restored historic marvel from the past. You feel like you are walking into history as soon as you enter. The host and staff were friendly and inviting. They immediately make you feel at home, Additionally the food and dining service was excellent. We've traveled the world and we know what is class and good. This was both. We'll be back.
There was nothing about the facility we didn't like or enjoy. We wish the location (Dillard) had more to offer visitors to do. However it was very restful which was the intention all along.
