I had a nice spacious room on the 17th floor. The hotel is central in this area of new York City.
The staff was rather impersonal. They did not agree to bring to my room a package that arrived from an order I made in an internet site.
noise at nite
Hotel was very central, close to Penn station and the subway, staff very pleasant, good sized bedroom with large TV, coffee maker and bathroom, very clean and fresh plus free access to wifi, gym and business centre. Excellent base for a holiday in Mid Town Manhattan
The food in the hotel café was quite basic and hot breakfast was far from hot and certainly not freshly cooked, apart from the eggs. Service was mediocre to poor on occasions. However plenty of other food options around including food market in Greeley Pk just outside hotel.
Location, Cleanliness, Staff
Bed was very hard
Great location for someone not familiar with the city. Close to the subway, shopping and dining. Staff was very helpful with directions and "do's" and "dont's". Would definitely stay again.
The reception was excellent and we enjoyed the gift of chocs. Bell boys etc also very helpful. Large and very comfortable room given NYNY norms. Excellent value and location. Can walk to most big attractions. Subway near and connections excellent. Would definitely use again if we got a good deal again!
Hard to think of anything
Excellent location, walking distance to shows and Times Square, Empire State Building , other attractions. My rate included breakfast.
The breakfast which was fairly good, very disorganized. Some people were allowed to go in and save seats for 6 people which came 20 mins later while we continued to wait. Getting coffee took over 15 mins while some people were getting refills already. They need a better system.
Proximity with metro station
The room was too small. The Wi-Fi connection was really poor. There was no fridge in the room and we only had two bottle of water in 3 days for 4 people!!!!! The security box was broken. The breakfast room was incredibly small and we had to wait for more than 20 minutes!
Two of my luggages' locks were broken in the room. I am sure they were broken in the room because I locked and unlocked my luggages daily and on my 3rd night I saw that they were broken. Security came in, took pictures, looked at camera and said the only people who came in the room were myself, my mother, and housekeeping. Nothing got stolen since there was not anything of value other than clothes and vitamins. Talked to the director of security and he said there was nothing he could do, not even give locks to lock my luggages for my trip back home. He told me he interviewed housekeeping, who said they did not do any of the breaking of any sort. Director of security said, "It's your words against theirs and they have no reason to do anything like that because they have been staffs for 15 years". I feel this could be an accusation of lying. So I asked for locks, but got denied. I did not ask for a new luggage, money, or any of the sort. I asked for locks for my own security. Furthermore, the hotel charges $25 per package after the first package. I have never been charged for receiving packages. Also, I was charged $2 per bag that had to be stored before check-in (which is at 4PM). Checking in took more than 30 minutes. There was not a clear line for check-in and no places to sit while we waited for so long. Front desk did not apologize for the long line, so I am guessing it is customary at this hotel to wait so long to check-in. Overall, I would not want to ever stay at this hotel again or other Radisson hotels. I should have trusted other reviews regarding customer service at the Radisson hotels. There are far better hotels in Manhattan and on W 32nd Street with even better prices.
The location was fantastic...close to Penn Station/Madison Square Garden, convenient for getting around the city and the airports. The Radisson Martinique is in the Empire district- a short block from the Empire State building. Macy's flagship building is across the street, and Herald Square is nearby (just outside) with outdoor eateries and shops. The Hotel's concierge gave us good suggestions on where to eat, when we said we were spending one of our days near Central Park, FAO Schwartz, The Plaza, Saks Fifth Ave, etc. She also advised us on how to get there quickly using the subway. With all of the metro lines nearby, we were able to get around easily and took jaunts into Times Square, Little Italy, Chinatown, Uptown/Harlem, Roosevelt Island, and Coney Island. From the hotel, we walked through the Chelsea District, Meatpacker's District, and Greenwich Village, to the 911 Memorial and Battery Park. On our way back to the hotel, we strolled the water front for a while, and then took the subway. It was nice to return to the lobby, where apples were provided to guests, as snacks. Each afternoon, our room was restocked with water bottles and coffee for the Keurig coffee maker. The hotel also has an interesting history behind it and is home to the founding of the PGA. The second floor has a photo gallery just outside the PGA Board room with commemorative photos. Overall, we had a pleasant time while at the Radisson Martinique. It's a great hotel for the price.
We stayed on one of the Penthouse floors in a corner room. Our room's floor plan was a bit awkward, but we made due, by moving the furniture around a bit to better utilize the space. It would have been nice to have had curtains or doors on the closet, and perhaps a small refrigerator. The first night we arrived, the clerk at the front desk was a bit short with us, during check-in. It was late, perhaps she was tired. Aside from that encounter, the staff was friendly and helpful.
The history of the building, location and room were lovely.
Having to wait till after 4 to check in.
Wifi, nice building, nice bed, spacious room.
They made me wait for 40 minutes before giving me a room at 11:30 pm.
It was very nicely located even though it was in the middle of Korea Town. The safe was not working at first and it took a few calls to get them to fix it but that's ok.
They told us the room would be ready at 4pm and only after complaining we could get our room at 2pm.
Staff were very friendly, very central to most attractions.
No fridge in room.
Location was great, stuff were nice. Somtimes, there was a wait during breakfast but we were quickly seated.
One of the housekeeper was rude. We wanted have a late check out and the morning manager was very not accomdating at all. Didn't even offer alternatives.
location was good - to time square, broadway, shopping, and subway. Great being mid-town so walking is good too. good restaurants around. lobby boys nearly all very nice - a couple need their manners sharpened a little. lovely lady concierge.
the people and patrons smoking outside the hotel so the smell was in the lobby all the time, staff not very friendly and quite condescending (unless you were wearing a smart suit!) due to airline crews the hotel can be quite busy and noisy at all times of day and night.
check in was a breeze
Couldn't find seating for breakfast
Excellent location. Very close to subway & some tourist attractions
Close proximity to metro, Empire State Building and tons of downtown restaurants, shopping malls, etc. Friendly staff.
Room furniture, lighting fixtures and carpet was very very old, definitely needs renovation.
best location . historical landmark
The staff was wonderful! The room was very clean. Someone on the cleaning crew found an iPod my neice had lost in the room and placed it on the night stand also :)
The food from room service was very disappointing. I had a grilled cheese that cost $27.00 and it wasn't even grilled.
No complaints with this hotel at all. Doormen were helpful and courteous as were the front desk staff and concierge. The hot breakfast was very good and kept us going through our busy days (if the dining room was busy -the wait was never more than a minute or two - if there was a wait at all - and staff kept on top of it all and were good at finding you a table). The room was spotless and renovated. Common areas were NOT rundown as I heard in other comments. We stayed in a club room - they are larger with pullout and two beds - highly recommended for a party of 3-4 adults!! Has it's own lounge with free snacks, coffee, fresh apples and granola bars. The little perks were fabulous. Hotel gave us a free drink ticket for each night of our stay and you could get just about any drink you wanted. Maceys was really close -5 minute walk that you could see in the distance from the hotel - as was a convenience store, pharmacy and many small diners, eateries and pubs. Times Square was ONE subway stop away - a 3 min ride? Stay here!! Seriously!! You won't be disappointed with this hotel, their staff or the location.
The restaurant service it's take to long and they don't pay attention to the customer. They talking between then all the time.
Staff was wonderful! Check in was wonderful. The man that checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Concierge was extremely helpful with where we should go for dinner and tours we should take. Bell hop was helpful with keeping our bags and getting us a taxi.
Full bedand no vanity space
The bell-man services were impeccable. We were able to arrive early (before check-in) and leave our bags safely with the hotel. And the next day after check out we were able to do the same thing. It was a wonderful convenience and the bell-men were the most gentlemanly, professional individuals. The room itself was small but wonderful, clean and luxurious. It was a great stay.
The front desk staff were a bit snippy and inattentive.
