Great bar and restaurant
Pretty much everything
I did like that it was just 2 miles from downtown Grand Rapids with easy access. Sleep number bed was fun to play around with even though I never settled on what my actual number was.
Bathroom area wasn't as clean as it should have been. I usually like to feel like I'm getting a little luck Sharee where I didn't at this hotel. I also overheard two other people in front of us complain and the hotel didn't offer any discount for any accommodation for them.
Staff was friendly but not paying attention to requests for assistance with some issues. Bed, heat, amenities. Free shuttle to town.
Sleep # bed not working, no replenishment on water, shampoo, etc. Heater was not functioning properly
A limited menu but the prime rib was delicious. The dining room overlooks the Grand River. The room was nicely decorated but not sure the air conditioning system worked.
In a no-man's-land, it used to be a Holiday Inn and it's still an old Holiday Inn with some remodeling - the dining area looks like it did 40 years ago.
The lobby was nice and clean, Our room was o.k. clean. I do prefer a little cleaner but it was fine.
The room is a good size and was clean. This hotel really needs a face lift.
The bed, even though it was a Sleep Number Bed, was very uncomfortable. It was an ancient version of this type of bed---it made soooo much noise when filling that it was laughable. I set the number to the one I use at home, but it just didn't stay at that setting. I woke up with a terrible back ache. Also, it doesn't matter to me, but the room was billed as "city view"; but the view was of the parking lot and the highway! We checked in late at night. The lobby and parking lot had many drunk people (I'm assuming from a wedding reception?) who were swearing, yelling, and some were being held back by others so they wouldn't fight. The desk clerk glared at them, but didn't say anything.
I needed a room and apparently there was some big event going on in town
It was not a nice hotel, no where I would stay a second time
Price and size of pool and whirlpool and lobby looked nice.
Pool-cold, jazzuzi-luke warm, room service-poor, breakfast-poor, lukewarm, elevators slow, doors broken, refrig. Missing and only 1 towel for 2 guests.
My room was next to the elevator. There was a wedding going on at the hotel that night, and I was woken up quite a few times because of the noise of the guests.
The sheets were clean, and the bed was comfy. Staff, friendly and helpful.
The tub and surround needed a good scrubbing. Soap scum does come off with elbow grease and the proper product. Also the whirlpool has a ring of black scum at the water level. No phone in our room ? so could not call the desk to tell them our light fixture did not function.
The smoke detector kept beeping because it needed a new battery and after maintenance fixed it, it still kept beeping. He finally just took it down. Also, the hot tub is filthy and the tiles around the pool are way too slippery. I fell and I was walking very carefully. We will find another hotel next year for Artprize. Restaurant staff very slow.
parking was easy. Shuttle was provided.
air system did not provide a consistent temp in room. Controls limited attempts to improve situation. View out window ( Pre-registered). Water dipping from shower head. Lack of coffee packets for more than one cup of coffee. Restaurant was poor.
No tv reception Heat control was broken & the room was too hot Noisy from freeway Breakfast was too late for us to use because we were on schedule to catch the train
Adjustable sleep number bed.
Bed was good
Pool and hot? tub were about 36 degrees. Even the 10 year old kids wouldn't go in.
short notice availability
Very uncomfortable pull-out sofa. Mediocre facilities. Smelled like old hotel.
Though dated it was clean and comfortable. You can see that at one time it was a hot spot with the amenities that it has.
My pillow smelled like urine. Room was not vacuumed, found fingernail clippings.restaurant was understaffed.
Most importantly, it was clean. The king size bed was very comfortable and the location to our venue was great. Although we didn't use the pool, it looked nice.
Wish the windows opened--our air conditioner wasn't working and I always like fresh air especially in a hotel room. There wasn't a fridge or microwave in the room which is almost a necessity now especially for leftovers and drinks. Other than that, it was a nice stay. We will stay again.
sleep number beds, good blanket good temp control
small room old paint old bathroom fixtures dark bathroom loud next to freeway
location convenient to our destination
age of facility, breakfast not included
Not walking distance to downtown. Not well maintained. Staff not friendly.
On sight enttertainment was a huge bonus. Bed was super comfy ( sleep numbers bed)
