Location, Location , Location
Only two small, slow elevators, long wait times in morning and evening
Excellent Location: 2 min to John Hancock tower. Within 10 mints you can walk to Macy's, Nordstorm, Bloomingdales and chain shops. Also a cheezecake factory is in 2 mins walk which convinient for you to have a lunch or dinner.
Air Conditionor is a little noisy.
The hotel is just walking distance away to most of the Chicago city attractions. If walking is not your thing, several modes of transportation options exist!
Try to avoid a room near the elevator if noise disturbs your resting. People are usually talking while leaving or returning.
Great stay, cheaper than many other options. Location location location, shopping on the door step easy access to beach and city. Public transport very near
Small public areas
Unfortunately I was given a beautiful room, but a room that wasn't ready to receive a guest (second floor, last room of the corridor): the iPhone dock was broken, the sink was broken (no water and actually broken), the bathroom drain didn't drain, the door lock broke as soon as I got into the room... I was told some manager would get in touch, something that didn't happen. Anyways, the place is beautiful and full of character, but I was chosen (and I was too tired to complain, and it was just for a night). Ow, and the wi-fi was actually good and for free.
My last night a roach was walking around on the floor.
The hotel is in a very good location and the price is comparable to other hotels in the same area. The room was very spacious and clean, it had a fridge and a microwave.
The room was cold, the ventilation system extremely noisy and ineffective. The hotel has no buffet breakfast, which, given the price, is ridiculous. Despite the room being extremely spacious (they upgraded me to the suite) it was cold and its interiors old, except perhaps for the bathroom. About the cold problem: I complained with the reception first, and asked for extra blankets to sleep comfortably. They sent someone to check the heating, and reported that one window was not properly closed and hidden behind the curtains. The night after the room was still cold, so I reported again. They told me that the room is on a corner and therefore is harder to heat up, as if that was a reason for the heating not working properly. The problem was never fixed and the room temperature still wouldn't go up to a comfortable temperature even with the heat working at full speed, which by itself was extremely annoying as the noise would make it hard to sleep.
Excellent location very near to shops. Getting around was easy on both buses and trains and also very cheap. Room and bathroom facilities excellent. Had a problem with the toilet and reported it. It was rectified within fifteen minutes. Very helpful staff. I would most definitely stay here again and recommend it.
A kettle in the room to make tea.
Room set up decor Staff attention Location Drumbar
I checked in telling them it was my husbands birthday and Paul at the front desk was so nice and helpful he asked if he could buy us a drink on the 18th floor at the Drum bar. I thought that was very nice touch and a great way to start our weekend!
Bathroom was rather small
Easy to get around from hotel. Staff helpful and informative.Very impressed with the city. Would definitely come again, maybe when not so cold.
Could have a choice of warm drinks in room other than coffee and milk pots rather than creamers.
Bathroom tile could use update. Stool in room was in horrible shape! Ripped on all sides. Other furniture was fine.
Spacious rooms, great big comfortable beds and duvets, location is great. Great cocktailbar on top floor!
Somewhat slow wi-fi, housekeeping could be more thorough, doughnuts in the lobby is not a sufficient breakfast offer- you have to go across the street to Hilton or order room service... In fact lobby smells of fried foods.
Spacious room and while the loby area is on the smaller side, it has charm. A great value located next to the John Hancock building.
My only complaint is the cost to park your car in the nearby garage. Typical of indoor secure city parking so cannot really blame the hotel for this.
Everything was nice, location, clean, service and the friendly staff.
few things made me feel uncomfortable are very bad air conditioning and mini bar refill.
The location is exceptional & very safe. Rooms clean & all facilities required available including free wifi. Overall great value for money.
"rain" shower head like all of its type was feeble, obviously reducing the water flow and therefore lower cost for the hotel
Concierge staff were very helpful
Bed linen too heavy and hot for warm evening - restaurant downstairs very expensive
Bathroom a little small.
Stayed for 5 nights and loved it!! Overall, clean property and room. Gym facilities were great! Bed was extremely comfortable, wifi worked great too! For the most part, staff were friendly, reception interaction was hit and miss, depending on who was working. Glazed and Infused donut/cafe looked great but sadly we never made it in to actually enjoy the offerings…next time! DrumBar located on the top floor (18th) was very cool as well! As mentioned by previous posters, location was amazing, close to everything, including the waterfront path. Had an awesome time in a fantastic city!!!!!
Minor wear and tear in the room i.e.: paint, scuffed furniture, intermittent hot water, hit and miss friendliness with reception.
loved the bar on the 18th floor outstanding views, terrace, clubby. will be back
terrible room service menu
Exercise room was very limited
The staff was great and the hotel was very nice.
The AC was set to heat for whole hotel so even though the thermostat is set to cool in the room it blew hot. The room was hot when we arrived and made sleeping rough.
Super hotel, great location and value for money. Really enjoyed the space in the suite and the pleasant nature of the staff.
Room service could have been more attentive over supply of coffee and tea.
Great room, great shower, amazing staff
