    Wouldn't stay here again.

When we arrived they had no information of our confirmed booking, saying the computer was "down", however they had wifi capabilities working. I needed to log onto my email to show my booking even though he said the hostel was very empty currently. The room barely had sheets on the bed. Cleanliness wasn't the best, the bed felt unclean. There was good kitchen facilities and toilets. We had to leave a 6am in the morning to catch a flight and the kitchen was locked so wouldn't be able to get food out if it was stored in there over night. My expectations are not high but I wouldn't recommend staying here again.

Rainbow Surf Hostel is great! I really enjoyed my time there. The hostel is under new management, so a lot of the old reviews talking about bed bugs and the former staff no longer apply. This place has recently been remodeled and is extremely clean and inviting. There are boogie boards, surf boards and snorkel equipment that they let you borrow. The location is great, just a 5 minute walk to any of the bars or shops in Paia. Great place to stay if you want to do the Sunriders Haleakala sunrise / bike ride down the volcano. So, to reiterate -- Rainbow Surf Hostel is under new management as of Feb 2014 and THERE ARE NO BED BUGS! Highly recommended.

Great staff and location. Really close to the beach and not a very touristy area

We were happy with the location in Paia, close to most activities on the island. Great jumping off point for the Hana drive. The staff are friendly and helpful, and easy to get along with. All services worked well, the shared bathrooms were clean. The hostel and the neighbourhood are quiet.

This is a hostel for surfers, so don't expect a luxury place to sleep, but our sleep was comfortable. Our only negative is the $100 a night for a room worth perhaps $75.

The staff is very friendly and the location is convenient in Paia.

I didn't book in advance so I had no options just this one was available according to my budget. It didn't worth. The room wasn't clean, lights didn't work, the mattress wasn't a mattress just some pillows covered by a mat.

Staff and guests were really nice. Nothing to complain about. We even have a BBQ together

Kitchen closes very early 10:00pm and open very late 7:30. Not very practical for people who want to enjoy the sunrise in Hawaii.
