Error at the desk we wanted to pay by cash and my card was debited
We had a high expectation for Double Tree but this one in Raleigh is a total disappointment.
We stayed in Room 412. We are a family with three young children. The trouble started first day. There was not enough hot water for everyone to take a quick shower. The shower head was not working properly. The heater vent made noises. The door handle to the balcony did not work properly. We booked 4 nights. The second night some school cheerleaders lived in and made so much noise all night long. We finally decided to leave one day ahead. When I talked to the front desk about leaving one day earlier, she gave me a hard time. This is a very poorly managed hotel. It is a total disappointment.
Staff was friendly. Location to NC State campus, Fairgrounds, and downtown was excellent. Pillow options on the bed made sleeping OK. Balcony on every room that you could actually sit on (no furniture though) was nice.
This is clearly a hotel from the 70's that has had a coat of paint slapped on the walls. The pictures you see online are of the remodeled lobby - the only updated place in the whole hotel. The rooms were stocked with coffee haphazardly; one cup/two lids, all decaf one day, all regular one day, lids that don't fit cups. Frustrating each morning and required trips to the lobby for supplies.
Pleasant staff, good follow-through, little things in the housekeeping were always attended to (i.e. there were always two coffee packets every morning, it's amazing how often hotels can mess up those little details). Quick efficient room service. The location was a half hour from convention center but for me that was a plus, it was a very pleasant walk.
I was happy that the hotel had alarm clocks that also held an ipod or smart phone for music, except neither the one in the room nor the replacement worked at all.
The staff were so friendly and helpful, the rooms were so clean and comfortable!! The restaurant was great...great food!!
My stay was too short!!
The room. Nice upgrade to a suite.
service and food were ok
the air from the aircondition had a terrible smell
The staff were genuinely friendly and courteous
The other guests were going up and down the hall banging on doors at 2 AM or thereabouts.
Room was very clean and comfortable but small. The staff was super friendly. Beautifully decorated rooms and common areas.
The wireless was down for the one night we were there. The room is too expensive for what you get. The price is on par with a hotel right in the middle of a large city even though this is located away from the city but right beside NCSU campus. We stayed at another hotel for 2 nights that included dinner and breakfast for about the same price as one night at this hotel
The staff was friendly and direct you to where every thing was located . I was even offered fresh bake cookies, next time I will take Them up on their offer.
Every thing was perfect
clean cookies were a nice touch
no pool YMCA closed at 6pm on Sunday so no swimming for the kids :(
great beds, linens, towels good location with public transportation nearby, though a little far from downtown
wifi was out for 2 nights, weak signal on 7th floor not enough towels for 4 guests in the room coffee did not get refilled every day
The beds were very comfortable, one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on.
The bathroom faucet handle on the sink came off
We were visiting North Carolina State Univ and the hotel was in a great location, it was clean, and the staff was friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
comfy beds and pillows
noise level in hall and parking lot, and people yelling off of balconies
Great schrimp and grits as I arrived late from the airport! Helpful staff, especially having that early morning taxi waiting to take me to a very important event.
Great location, comfortable beds
No continental breakfast.. Sloppy remodel job.. patch job in the ceiling was very pain to see.. ugly stain on the floor as you walk into the room.
I found the staff very friendly and helpful; the facilities were clean. I am actually looking forward to staying at the DoubleTree again on my next trip.
helpful staff, clean
Memory foam beds very hot, rust in shower, hook torn off of bathroom door, small bathroom, breakfast buffet is 11.99
The wonderful, highly officious staff
