Sweeping along the coast against a mountain backdrop, San Diego has easy living down to a fine art. Its wonderful beaches and mild climate make it a favorite spring break destination, and with over 40 city breweries, there are plenty of ice cold beers to set the mood.
The city’s most recognizable landmark is the Hotel del Coronado, a wooden Victorian beach resort, now a National Historic Landmark. As original Spanish mission and first in California, it's has been relocated to the Mission Valley area, and Old Town San Diego still has many Colonial buildings and quirky shops. Also great for shopping are Horton Plaza and the boutiques in the beachfront neighborhoods.
The city’s most famous attraction is its zoo in Balboa Park, a few blocks from San Diego International Airport. One of the world’s largest zoos, it is well worth a visit, as is the fantastic SeaWorld, home to several killer whales. To see wildlife in its natural habitat head to La Jolla beach where harbor seals rest, or watch whales in season from Point Loma Lighthouse.
Just over the border from Mexico’s Tijuana, San Diego has a distinctly Latin American vibe and a variety of accommodations encompassing apartments, motels, B&Bs and hotels. See Booking.com for the best deals.

San Diego have really worked hard on making it a tourist-friendly city. Their tourist web site (SanDiego.org) has a lot of really good suggestions about what to do and see in the city and the surrounding area. We stayed in La Jolla which is a nice small town but has easy access via transit to the city. If you are in a car, there appears to be a lot of free parking for various attractions (e.g .Balboa Park, Old Town) and you can park for free in the Old Town and get to downtown San Diego in about 15 minutes using their excellent tram system. If you are driving, you can travel out to Coronado and enjoy the State Park there. Also worthwhile is a trip to the desert on Hwy 52.

Absolutely beautiful and fantastically fun area!
Absolutely beautiful and fantastically fun area! I would be happy alone, with family or a girlfriend. So much to do and such great atmosphere and food, weather etc. Only problem was FANTASTICALLY EXPENSIVE! Holy cow, bring a lot of cash. Absolutely everything cost a fortune, so we weren't able to stay as long as we wanted.

The downtown area near Seaport Village is fun to explore with good restaurants and other shops. If you stay at a hotel in the area, you can also visit the Gaslamp Quarter for tours and more great food. You can walk along the Embarcadero and visit the large peninsula park. Another thing to do is find a good concert at the Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. The Rady Shell is just a short walk, and it would be a nice evening.

There is so much to see but my personal favorite was visiting ‘Old Town’. The place is filled with history. I am a person who likes to walk and I was able to walk to almost everything and I did use the bus to get to my destinations and an Uber to return to my hotel.

So much to see and do.
So much to see and do. Balboa Park is a wonderful place and has many amazing museums to explore.
The floating Maritime Museum in the harbour is superb.
Coronado Island is a fun side trip and worth visiting too.
Also enjoyed walking along the many miles long of beach walk ways with quintessential Southern California cool surfer culture. Wonderful Mexican food venues everywhere! Driving on the freeway and busy highways is not for the faint hearted as traffic can be challenging with aggressive drivers everywhere.
The hotel is great for a long weekend trip as everything is at your disposal. The location was excellent, right on the beach. The hotel has a rental service of bikes, boogie boards, etc which makes it so convenient. Great restaurants all within walking distance, we even walked to Belmont Park which was a fun!
The hot tub was great too, as many evening it was cool, and having that was a nice way to relax.
The hotel remodel is modern, hip. The lobby is great to hang out and play boardgames, etc.
The location was great. It was right by the dog beach and although we didn't have a dog, we enjoyed walking to the beach and watching all the activity on the beach. The location to other things like stores to get groceries was also good and the room was spacious and comfortable. Parking was a plus. Also the hotel has taken the time to plant beautiful aloes and other succulents. You can tell they really pay attention to the garden. It was a delight to see.
We traveled to San Diego from LA for a weekend out and really enjoyed the central location of the hotel. Access to the gaslamp and the beach was quick and easy, the room was comfortable too and we really enjoyed the views from the 15th floor. Everything was modern and clean as well.
We also got free drinks and some excursions with the stag courtesy of the hotel which was great!
Perfect location to visit San Diego. Next to Little Italy area, there are plenty of cool restaurants and bars around. There is a complementray to-go breakfast included, nothing special but always appreciated and convenient. You can easily walk around the city starting from the hotel. Including the parking fee, still a very reasonable price for the location.
Room was clean.
I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful this hotel was and walking distance to so many restaurants. Also, it was in the historic Gaslamp district which was cute. Close to San Diego attractions like the Petco stadium, SD zoo, etc. The staff was friendly and promptly responsive. Room was clean and spacious, beautiful.
Everyone working at the hotel couldn't do enough to make sure my stay was good. From the front desk, to the bar to the shuttle driver. It was an absolute pleasure to stay there. I am recommending my work colleagues to stay here when in San Diego in future. Excellent service!
Your hotel is a 5 star for the value. The location and price was great. Seriously the breakfast was nice and the service very friendly. You are about a 5 minute drive to the beach and basically it is a straight line to it. I will book again when visiting San Diego.
The property is located in The Hotel Circle region of San Diego and there are probably 50 other properties in this area. This area is real close to downtown, the beaches, Old Town and is in beautiful Mission Valley. Lots to do and great value for this property.
Great location: close to DTSD (downtown San Diego). Friendly staff & lobby felt very welcoming. Plenty of parking, felt safe. Hotel room was spacious & very clean. Wish I had more time to enjoy the pool. Would love to stay here again next time visiting SD!!
Great location to be able to dip into busy downtown San Diego but then come back and relax away from the noise. Kids loved the pools and beach just outside the room. The food at the hotel eateries was very good as well. Overall great for families.
Very nice hotel/motel, with pool! Only drawback was.proximity to Marines training camp, which is where I suspect the Star Spangled Banner at 08:00 each morning came from!
Old town directly opposite, along with bus/tram services into San Diego.!
Location of the hotel is excellent. It is close to all the landmarks in San Diego. Personnel was very professional. We met Paul, the General Manager of the hotel. He was very polite and professional. Thank you so much for accommodating us.
I liked the layout, no long halls to walk to the room. Secure parking access on site right below hotel. Large breakfast area/lobby. Good coffee! Location is ideal for walking downtown San Diego or hopping on the train.
Simple hotel, but good for the price.
Staff is very friendly, there is lots of parking and public transport nearby.
Location is very good to go anywhere in San Diego.
I liked that Days Inn by Wyndham San Diego Hotel Circle is located near downtown and the drive isn’t too bad. The staff were also very nice and accommodating.
