The staff were always very courteous and helpful, especially on the last day re. taxi to the airport and safeguarding luggage until later in the day. The breakfast was free and was sufficient as we're not big eaters but being there for six nights meant it did get a bit repeatative. I liked the Temper type bad mattress but husband wasn't too keen. Free wifi was easy to access. The hotel may not be cantral enough for some people but it worked well for us. The nearest tube is a block away but we often walked and covered an average of 7.5 miles each day according to my pedometer. It'll cost you $55 to get to the hotel from JFK.

The location is pretty good. Close to a Metro stop and walking distance (20 min) to Time's Square, Empire State Building etc. A lot number of eateries within a two block radius, some very close.

The receptionist upon our arrival was very rude, not volunteering any information and answering only when prompted with single word replies or gestures. Remote wasn't working and they slowly begrudgingly sorted it out. A very disatisfactory welcome. The room was the smallest we had on our stay in the US and Canada though was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was fine but nothing exciting and exactly the same every day so soon got bored of it. There were never enough tables for everyone so people had to share or wait. The lift was painfully slow and we were on the 12th floor! Despite these things and the high price, compared to other prices it seemed like reasonable value for money.

The reception clerk in the morning was really nice, let me check in early, and was able to find a non-smoking room for me. The room I had was small but relative to the rest of hotels in Manhattan was probably par for the course. It was extremely clean, no fear of bedbugs here.Compared to prices of other hotels in Manhattan this was very reasonable, and great location. Breakfast good.

My room with one queen size bed was on the small side.

Hotel was quiet for sleeping. Not much road or hall noise. Great value for money. Location great. Would stay at this hotel again.

The hard boiled eggs at breakfast -- they had the consistency of pickled eggs. If you needed protein in the morning, there was no other choice. It was also unfortunate that you had to eat/drink out of styrofoam/plastic/paper dishes and cutlery. So much waste and it was not being recycled.

We absolutely loved this hotel! It's a really beautiful hotel, everything seemed clean and nicely decorated. The room was really big, especially since we expected to get a tiny room in a hotel in Manhattan! The bed, closet, dresser and bathroom were all fantastic, we even had an iron and a kettle in our room. The location was absolutely great, in midtown Manhattan, really near a subway station and the Empire State Building. We had a nice view from our room, and even though we were in a busy location, it was rather quiet at night. The staff was so friendly and obliging, too. Also, there was a free breakfast, which included tea, coffee, juices, hot chocolate, milk, fruit, cereals, waffles, syrup, bagels, cream cheese, doughnuts, bread, yoghurt, jam, butter,... We never had any trouble getting a table in the breakfast room. There are also a fitness room and a business room, in which two computers with free internet connection and also a printer are available. We thought that for Manhattan, this hotel had a really good price!

This hotel is great, the only thing that bothered us a little was has having to wait for the elevator ;)

Clean and comfortable room. Great location for visiting Manhattan.

Very high price. Not reliable wi-fi internet. Breakfast quantity and quality was very good but there could be more variety of food (there was no meat, there was only one kind of cheese).

The bed was extremely comfortable; if the pillows were feather that would have made it even better! I like that the breakfast was included. The staff were very nice and helpful.

When I got the bill it was about $100 more than I expected. I guess this was due to taxes - I would like it if the hotel was more upfront about add-ons.

I liked the cleanliness of the hotel. I also liked the fact that there were computers available for lodgers use.

Some of the staff did not speak very good English.

Room 311 too close to stret.Honking horns and sirens until 230a. No other rooms available.Lobby staff curt and unpleasant

Location was great and the rooms were decent. Mattress was nice too.

They were undergoing some remodeling work while I was there, but this only took place during the day and didn't bother me much. I was just surprised by all the boxes and material in the hallways. The front desk manager didn't really acknowledge me when I first arrived which I found a bit odd. It took a while to get his attention as he spoke to other employees at the hotel.

Breakfast is included and very good location.

Construction work across the street was noisy.
