asked at the front desk for options to fill a couple of hours and have dinner before the opera for which we had tickets. was told that there was nothing between there and downtown. we went out on our own and found a large area of restaurants and shopping the exit before this exit. front desk personnel need to have people skills and knowledge of the area. the clock in the room had not been set for daylight savings time that had started 3 weeks before. the next mornings breakfast offerings consisted of a pan of potatoes cold cereal and misc breads. horrible breakfast. i choose my hotels when they offer a breakfast to save travel time in the mornings.
When I got to my room the heat wasn't working. Finally the fixed that only to later see a mouse. At first they said they would come and catch it....what the hell??? I promptly said I would like a new room. The moved me down the hall. After a few hours another mouse. What really is going on?? Finally the moved me to 2nd floor but was very rude about it. The maintenance man even said why are you still here this place infested with mice.....The bathroom was disgusting you could see the dirt in the tubs. I showered with my flip flops on.
I guess you get what you pay for. The staff was pretty friendly.
I was supposed to get breakfast with my reservation but the first morning they had a sign hanging on the dining area that is was closed due to a water main break. They still could have offered something. I had to call and request that someone from housekeeping come and service my room and the hotel was not full at all.
close proximty to the new Hollywood race track
the free breakfast needs more variety
This had been a very nice Holiday Inn "Holidome" with all of the extras. Location is convenient to downtown. Great value.
The facility has not been kept up. Wallpaper in room was patched and pealing. The maid had missed a very used washcloth in the shower. Location is in a sketchy area.
Staff, and clean! Scared I might get raped with all the grimly men hagging around
As stated above
Nice amenities. Free breakfast was good. Room was clean.
Pool not heated as advertised.TV's not HD as advertised.Exercise room needs upgraded/better maintained.
The location was central and the room was very comfortable.
The facility has a great set up for families and large teen groups. My room was on the corridor with one of these groups. Lots of water on the floor, running down the hall...all of the things teens do when having fun. I was there working on my doctorate. This was not conducive.
The Room wasn't cleaned The breakfast was so poor In the wekand was saw nose The hotel please no good
Reception area was backed up as only one person was there for check in . Facilties were run down in common areas . Rooms were clean and seemed updated except for the very old tv in my second room . Noise was very loud until 2:39 am in morning .
The location was ok. I could bring my dog. It was clean enough.
The room was cold and the blankets were very skimpy. I could not find extra blankets. The beds were not comfortable.
Dusty room. Beds were hard Pillows were hard and lumpy, like old foam. Terrible nights sleep The breakfast was continental and not many options. Never go there again
The breakfast was satisfactory.
The fact that at 6:30 pm they were finally coming to clean the room for the day. The desk staff were totally RUDE!! No daily newspaper. Children running through the hallways at all hours of the night yelling and screaming.
The price was fair.
The staff was rude and not helpful.
Pool hrs, entertainment area, complimentary breakfast, and comfortable beds.
Lots of stains on carpet in hallways. In the room wallpaper had been taped in numerous areas to keep the wallpaper from further peeling. The vents in the room and pool area were filthy. Seat cushions in breakfast are were heavily stained and soiled. Pool room was not monitored for cleanliness while we swam. The pool floor had mud in most areas from people wearing there shoes. Felt dirty the entire stay.
The hotel was very close to our venue
The neighbourhood was scary. The desk clerk was working alone at 3pm check in time
Shower did not drain Bathroom fan did not work Bug crawling across bathroom floor
Easy access to expressway. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. Bed was comfortable
Stay was better than I expected from the reviews I read prior to trip.
Very dated. Much in need of renovation.
OUTSTANDING VALUE FOR THE MONEY (69.95 PER NIGHT). OUTSTANDING WEEKEND BREAKFAST INCLUDED IN RATE. OUTSTANDING LOCATION.
NEED TO UPGRADE THEIR TELEVISION SETS TO LARGER SCREEN HD TV'S.
Only 5 miles from downtown Dayton. Hotel Staff was Excellent. Hotel had a lot to offer, Restuarant, Arcade room, Pool table, Air hockey, Indoor pool + hot tub, and bar if your in to that type of thing.
I would have liked for the bed mattress to be a little softer. It's pretty hard. Not thrilled about the bar. Didn't see on the internet where it said anything about a bar and didn't like the fact that outside people could come and go to the bar. Just kept a closer eye on my kids. Nice looking Hotel just wish there was a way to do something about the surroundings outside, they look a little rough.
facilities are good especially for children
Staff, hot tub
My wife and I were exposed to some sort of chemical in the room. she had a headache within two hours of arrival. The room was also too hot, which made it worse. Then, in the middle of the night, I got a headache, my eyes started burning, my skin itching, throat burning, it lasted for two days. It was horrible. I am going to ask for a refund. Also, the pool was no only like ice water, the chlorine levels were off the scale. Chlorine gas seeped into the hallway and up the elevator shaft onto our floor -- the fourth floor. I saw a maintenance man pour a lot of chlorine in the pool when we were in it. It made our stay miserable. But the staff was cool, and the rooms were ok. Great hot tub -- temperature just right. And the rooms were not bad either. Convenient location in a depressed part of town, which is every town, in every state to one degree or another. All I can say is I will not be able to stay there again, the illness was horrible. Vomiting, itching, terrible headaches, it did not really set in until we started breathing fresh air. Bizarre, I know, you need to put some kind of fans in the rooms, or something to move the air, the wall units are not cutting it. With the symptoms and all, it made we wonder if we were exposed to a preventative bug spray of some sort. Between that and the chlorine gas from the pool, combined with the heat, thank God we were only there one night.
Bed was comfortable.
Tub had a leaky faucet. The hotel needs a face lift. In the morning there was a tow truck blocking my car and a man fixing his car next to mine. He had cut his hand and bled on my passenger door. Very limited smiles and greetings.
