Staff very kind and patient
Location Other guests annoying Furnishings
The bed was comfortable
Outlet shortted out and sparks shot out everywhere when my husband plugged in his phone charger. This could have been very dangerous. Continental breakfast not good Rooms smelled funny Bathroom door locks didn't work Toilet kept getting stuck when flush
For the cost, the room was clean and comfortable, nice to have coffee maker and fridge, good bed linens, big TV, good wifi, near everything in SJ. The exterior is not inspiring, but for the cost it's a great value. Good security with swipe keys required in elevator and stairwells. Good healthy breakfast. Yogurt, fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, pastry, etc.
Again, it doesn't have the fancy curb appeal of bigger hotels in the area, but they can cost 3x the price.
It is very convenient to go around everywhere in San Jose downtown.
Great price, great location, cleanest Ramada I've been to. Right in Downtown SJ, near many places.
Since it is in Downtown SJ, there are a lot of young adults getting rooms to party.
Nice enough place. Nothing fancy. Good value compared to other locations. Easy walk to Convention Center. Easy to get to restaurants and public transport.
Calls itself Ramda San Jose Convention Center but is two blocks from the center. Neighborhood is somewhat sketchy. No shuttle to airport.
I like everything ... the room was clean, well decorated, comfortable beds. The staff is friendly and very professional. We will come back again
I chose this hotel as this is the closest to the venue that I needed to visit. On the morning of our checking out, in came a whole load of new armchairs to replace the existing ones for the hotel. There might have been a recent change with the management.
Our room and the next are adjoining rooms. I must have spoken to loudly and woke the baby up in the next room. I felt bad about that. The baby took some time to settle down. There is another floor above our room. I could hear the walking and the hinge of the door coming from above, during the night. The front desk afternoon and morning staff members can be better at engaging with customers. They were not rude but I suppose that being a sleepy hotel, it is inevitable for the staff to become bored with their work and do not have that much enthusiasm with visitors.
Location worked for me. Walking distance to good eats and sports bar. Relatively clean.
Backup at check-in with long line. The breakfast.....wasn't. Few choices and what was there, lacked taste (the food) and strength (the coffee).
It is walking distance to everything in downtown. It was clean, beds were comfortable and I enjoyed my stay.
Wifi sucked, probably was down for the night I was there. Parking.
Breakfast was surprisingly sufficient. I was expecting just a dry bun and and rock hard apple but there was eggs, yoghurt, (corn)flakes, juice, bread, etc. The location is quite close to everything you would like to see or visit in San Jose. Bus and lightrail stops are nearby. Staff was friendly as much as we came in contact with them. Rooms were ok, nothing special but livable. There was a pool also which we didn't visited due to time constraints. Room service was normal, nothing extraordinary.
Soundproofing was quite nonexistent. we heard a person walking upstairs as if was in our room. Also at one night some guest decided to have a party at their room so it was a bit hard to sleep. The room smelled a bit funny - nothing bad but still strange.
Breakfast Cleaning crew Walking distance to American Idol
Having to change rooms due to guest still in first room. Got there after 6pm Elevator taking forever to get back to lobby.
Location is great. Two blocks from the convention center. So if you are on a budget, this is the place to stay.
The entire place smelled like bleach. Even the rooms. I had to turn on the AC and open the windows. Other than that, it was ok. Only stay here if you are on a budget.
Nothing it was a good stay
Location, free parking, free wi-fi
Front desk staff in evening. Not very welcoming:(
The sheets were coarse and the mattress was too firm.
Pool area nice. Breakfast room clean and good options. Bedroom furniture old. Carpet appeared old and unsanitary. Shady neighbourhood but quiet in hotel. Also the fridge in the room opened into the wall so it was tough to squeeze into the small space to utilize the fridge. Staff great.
- continental breakfast - security - swimming pool - clean housekeeping - kind front desk
- very unstable WiFi
Convenient, 5-minute walk to the convention center; friendly and helpful staff; room was outdated but clean (which is really all I could ask for!); Wi-Fi was generally reliable; decent 12 noon check-out time; very reasonable for the money; free parking in a secured lot.
The area of town was a little seedy -- there were some questionable folk or homeless people lurking around or near the building at any given time; some of the other hotel guests were extremely loud and shouted constantly -- not sure if the staff told them to quiet down or not because I left shortly after; room was a bit outdated, but again, it was clean; Wi-Fi was a little spotty.
Checking in and out was painless. The nice tv and lots of channels was nice.
Rooms need updating.
*The hotel staff handled all of our hotel business efficiently and professinally. *Nice continental breakfast bar.
*noisy - very noisy if you are a medium to light sleeper (thin walls and flooring) *not a typical Ramada - this hotel is a very old one that has been low budget remodeled to be a Ramada
