Ravel Hotel8-08 Queens Plaza South, NY 11101 Queens (Show map) Good, Score from 266 reviews“We loved our room, there was three of us and there was plenty of room. The lobby was comfy to sit in and the location once finding the queens bridge stop on the metro was great. That line is quick into manhattan. Highly recommend this hotel.”

The staff were very helpful and friendly. I upgraded my room as the Queen deluxe that I initially reserved, had a view of the parking lot and the hotel faces the nyc skyline. The Penthouse room was lovely, clean and comfortable. I had a good sized terrace that looked across to nyc and the Queensborough Bridge. The shuttle service to the subway station was very convenient as was the free parking. The room I originally booked was a Queen deluxe. The room smelled like cigarette smoke, even though smoking is not permitted in the rooms. The walls were marked and the carpet looked dingy. I think it would be in the best interest of the hotel to bring all the rooms up to the standards of the higher priced rooms. I decided to upgrade as I wanted a view of the city, as opposed to a view of the parking lot. I also found the workout facility in the basement of the hotel absolutely disgusting. It did not seem to have been cleaned in quite some time......the water cooler did not work and there was nothing to wipe down the machines.

Liked the pricevery much! Small cost of around $10 to get into Midtown Manhattan by taxi. Rooms were stylish and clean, change of towels, beds made and replensihed coffee sachets each day. Good quality coffee machine in room and comfortable beds with nice cotton covers. You would find it hard to get something nearer to Midtown at this price! Also has fantastic views of Manhattan on the rooftop! No tea making facilities in the room, although found that the 'rooftop terrace' offered tea and juice included in the room price, though we stubbled upon this and was not informed by the hotel - you can have breakfast up there but meals were not included in my booking. The rooftop terrace can be very noisy on certain nights, though this did not bother my group, it was loud and did go on until 3 in the morning, so maybe not a good idea for a family trip? We had rooms with balcony though faced the main road, no view to speak of here, the only good view is on the roof and you will need to pay for Taxi's (or subway) to get to and from Manhattan as nothing is within walking distance.

We stayed at The Ravel for three nights in November 2011. I am sorry to stay that we would never stay there again. The building is in an industrial type area that is not tourist or people friendly. The Hotel does try and compensate this by running shuttle services to the local train station. One thing to note is that It has the most bizarre floors I have ever walked on!! In that the hallways are so uneven and 'wavy' they make you disorientated. Beer in the bar was quiet expensive as compared to the other hotels we stayed in during our trip and there was rarely any bottles of water in the drinks machine. This private run owned hotel is about Profit as everything has a cost. I would suggest you look to stay in Manhatten if you are visiting New York or anywhere else unless you don't mind paying over four star prices for a 1 star hotel The staff, they were really helpful and mannerly

I stayed four nights at the Ravel Hotel and I was really impressed how beautiful the hotel is and how budget friendly it was as well. I really believe this is a great value, the hotel is just a couple of subways stops from the city. Although the nearest subway station is about 6 city blocks walking distance the hotel did provide a shuttle that would take you. I liked everything at this hotel, it has a very chic modern feel and was very comfortable. Not to mention the incrediable view of the nyc skyline from our room. I would highly recommend it to anyone and I will definitely be back. The only suggestion I would have for the hotel is to offer a shuttle service more often so that runs every hour from about 6am until 3am. Currently the shuttle runs from 7am to 11am every 30 mins, but after 11am it runs every hour on the hour until 11pm, if you wanted a ride back to the hotel or to the subway outside of those hours you needed to pay an additional 5 dollars. Although 5 dollars does not seem like much, I still believe it should be included given that the car ride to and from is quite fast in a car. Other than that suggestion, I was really impressed and happy about my stay.

The room wasn't clean - it smelled bad too - and there was a lot of noise from the bridge that is very close to the hotel. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

The design of the room, the staff and the view from the rooftop. The view from 1st stair : no balconies. So we transfered for an upgrade on the 4th floor but the music was so loud that we didn't relaxed at all. We moved again on the 1st floor so that we could hear only the cars on the street.. And for the wi-fi, it was complicated.. As it didn't always worked in our room and we had to purchase it on our credit card. It should be free.

The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The terrasse on the roof has a beautiful view of Manhattan. The free parking is very useful. Though there is a hotel shuttle to the subway, there is no need to use it. The Subway station is less than 1 km away and it is easily walkable and safe. This hotel seems more like a 3 stars than a 4 stars shotel. The carpets in the hallway were wearned out. I feel I could have had equivalent rate for the same type of hotel in Manhattan. The area where the hotel is located is industrial.

Beautiful view of the city and the Queensboro bridge. Valley Parking if there are no available spaces in the lot. Perfect for couples on persons seeking intimacy. Food is fairly steep but extremely delicious. Cannot connect inputs to tv. Menu system for television is terrible. Water is extremely overpriced (passing tap water for sparkling water). Need to pay for wi-fi.

I enjoyed the feel of a boutique-type hotel; a perfect stay for a city break in New York City. The service in the restaurant was particularly good. If anything, there had been a recent refurb to the penthouse restaurant and bar - and so there was a limited choice of food on the menu at the time we stayed. However, what we did have was delightfully tasty!

The bed was comfortable. This place is dirty and not maintained. It smells. Basically this is a semi-remodeled motel 6 that somehow got a 4 star rating?! Unbelievable. Especially coming from the Hyatt down to this pos hotel...

Loved the view. Rooms were large and very clean. Staff gave us good advise when seeking place to eat. In central park less than 15 minutes. Free on-site parking. Club on rooftop (young). They ran out orange juice at breakfast.
