The staff is courteous, the place was quiet. It appears to be family run. We were only there to sleep. The facilities are kept very clean. Adequate for our 5-day stay. Price was right for not hanging out, and for this area of CT. Internet was very fast.
The decor and lighting are antiquated, not in a charming way. It has a vague "hotel" smell, but we lit a soy candle. It's a bit claustrophobic, and across the river from a factory. Not a place you'd want to hang out, but it's fine for sleeping, showering, and using wifi.
There was a leak under the kitchen sink and water poured on to the floor next to our bed. The linens were filthy and stunk. The shower was filthy. Front desk guy was rude. We waited for extra pillows and towels for two days. No alarm clock, lamp didn't work and the room stunk. I would NEVER stay there again.
Large room, Comfortable bed
Old towels, no coffee maker
gave my reserved room away no toilet paper no wash cloths no linen for pull out sofa no hand soap musty smell to the room
The sheets looked like they were not washed. The blanket was so dirty that we threw it on the floor. Also had a 2 night stay, and left the first morning, lost 1 days stay. I do not think motels like this are good for booking.com, makes you wonder next time if you should use your services. We know it is not bookings fault, this is the first bad motel we have got from you.
Sounded like a herd of elephants up on the second floor until 1:00 am im up for work@ 3:ooam no rest there! Television picture was horrible all orange.Refrigerator wasnt working! They were nice enough to give me a cooler....way to much $ for what it is!
Nothing at all
It was the worst place I ever went to
Bed was AWFUL!!!! Worn, springs poking thru, stained, pillows and linens worn out. Broken lamp. Microwave inoperable. Hair dryer missing. Room smelled of musty smoke (non-smoking room). Brought issues to the attention of the propieter and he promised to have a new mattress the NEXT TIME we came.
Location & rate
The bed ...
Look, I believe this is a motel that is trying to get better. The room we had was small but clean, with space to hang a few things and a small bathroom. We had a king bed that was plenty comfortable for a night or two and a microwave and small fridge should we have needed it. The fellow on duty was polite, and seemed eager to please. Our room was on the first floor behind the office and parking was limited but we found a place. I believe this motel has some temporary permanent residences. We were there for the Sunday Morning Elephants Trunk Flea and the location was perfect with car access to many downtown restaurants and site in New Milford. We travel often for this kind of thing and we don't stay in high end motels. Because this is an expensive area we realized that with the price we might be taking a chance on an unknown, but while this wouldn't be perfect for everyone it was just fine for a night for us and a very good price. There is evidence there is work being done on the motel also and I suspect it will be slowly improving. The tv, while old was just fine.
Parking outside our room was not possible. The motel needs to use fabic softener in their wash. The towels were like sand paper. A coffee maker in the room would have been nice for one amenity.
this hotel was run down and in need of many repairs. the room was not clean, so much ice on the walk ways it was really unsafe.
price, location, service
layout of room, cleanliness/order, condition of room/fixtures
There was wifi and it had parking right in front of our room.
The room was beyond dirty. We went out and bought our own blankets and towels and used our shirts as pillow cases, because everything was stained brown like it hadn't been washed in months. The shower was black with filth and the toilet leaked every time you flushed it. The hair dryer smelled of marijuana even though we were supposed to be in a non smoking room. I had a baby with me and was terrified to put him on any surface for too long. I am surprised this hotel is still allowed to be open after seeing the how they run it.
It was close to Sherman, CT.
There was no hairdryer in the room. The light in the bathroom consisted of 3 bare light bulbs. The sheets didn't fit the bed. The toilet seat was duct-taped together. Outdated TV in a cabinet whose doors we had to wedge open with a washcloth. No closet. The pillows were undersized and worn out. Will never stay there again.
very old and dirty.Needs huge updating
not much; bathrooms were small but fairly new, although there were cigarette marks on the bathtub and vanity top, as though used as a temporary ashtray.
Where to begin! Squashed, small room with giant old TV (no remote); dirty room with pillowcases that appeared to have been used; cigarette holes in the stained bedspread; moth hole in the blanket; used condom on the floor beside the bed; front desk 'staff' that didn't know what they were doing; no availability of a way to get a morning coffee anywhere on the premises; two tiny bars of soap and a small bottle of shampoo as 'amenities', small, threadbare towels; rotting deck outside my second floor room ... and on and on.
the one staff member on duty who was filling in tried his best
beds were uncomfortable, ashtrays in non-smoking rooms, bathroom dirty, furniture broken (dresser no drawers) no towel racks in the bathroom
Room was clean with adequate supplies, and the porch chairs were a nice touch. We sat on the porch and watched the deer in the field across the street.
The sheets were too small for our bed, none of the the three hair dryers in the office worked, and while there was an iron in the room, there was no ironing board. The tv remote didn't work, even with new batteries. The towels were also a bit worn and stained.
