It was clean and the staff was very nice. It was great for one night for the price! A lot of noise from people running around late at night yelling and acting peculiar.....hard to sleep real well.

The lady at the front desk was very friendly and super helpful. Her suggestions made our stay much more enjoyable. Thanks! Location was very good, and having parking was a great plus. Room was spartan, and seemed old and tired.

Lovely owner/receptionist with good advice. Nice Asian restaurants around the corner. Free WIFI and parking and just a few blocks from Union Square. Very clean! Area around the hotel (Tenderloin) is a bit dodgy but we had no issues whatsoever.

Wonderful hostess - very attentive and helpful. She showed us good restaurant nearby (BTW, Max's is a very good one), helped with laundry, provided a parking spot for friend of ours and so on. Complimentary Wi-Fi. Neighbourhood to the East (Tenderloin?) is really bad. Throngs of homeless, very dirty and stinky. Don't know if it's really dangerous to walk there (we were ok) but definitely not pleasant. We almost thought all SF is like that and were upset and disappointed, but luckily we found other places quickly :)

I will only stay at the older motels with aisle/private balconies, refuse to stay in motels/hotels without them, or places where you can't even open up a window! To me, this is a 5-star facility! Close to everything, lots of restaurants nearby. Can't wait to stay there again when I return this summer!

Large comfortable clean room great location for arts /SFSO/opera/ballet free parking very helpful and charming hostess with friendly dog - provided a kettle ("English and Chinese always want hot water"). *No fridge or air con, but not a problem when we have been there in spring and autumn - may be more of an issue in summer *can be noisy - rough area nearby and on Eddy between lodge and Union Sq- *internet times out every 20 mins

Probably the best cost/benefit in sf, great rooms and great staff. Not the best area to walk around during the night, a car is recommended

The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Took a real interest in us and what we were doing. The room was a good size but a little sparse. Pictures on the wall would have brightened it up.

Staff is great, treat you like a family, very delicate and responsive! Rooms are spacious and clean. Free Wi-Fi, free parking on site - no other hotel in sf could match this. It's not a "luxury" type of hotel, but definitely best value for money if you come to see the city. Despite the hotel situated just in the cultural center of sa, the area a pair of blocks from the hotel to the east could be not very safe at night, don't go there.

I loved the location, beds were fine, clean place, not very noisy, has free onsite parking. Couple things wrong during my stay: Half of the room had no electricity when I returned at night (tv lights), then they preceded to blame me for something I did when I called them. They eventually switched the breakers and it worked. This leads into my following issue, the customer service was par at best. Were rude at times. If I were to go to the city again, the only reason I would go here is strictly for location and price nothing else.

Free parking since we are renting a car. We paid USD112 for a night stay which i think it is too expensive as the bed and room is quite old. The staff is not friendly.

Prime location. Free parking and free wifi which is unheard of in SF. 2 blocks from Great American Music Hall. Brenda's restaurant is literally kitty-corner and great food. One block from MUNI line. Ladies at the front desk are a hoot. We will be back for sure. Fire trucks use Polk St, not necessarily awful, but when you don't live in a city "city noises" make it difficult to sleep.

The balcony, although it was not private. Cheap furniture, the lamps had celephane wrapped around them presumably to keep them clean? old linoleum floors were really bad. Shower and water temperature were bad. Family owned but they are a bit rude.
