I had a couple contacts with hotel regarding my paying for a room I was
not occupying; very frustrating and not customer
oriented/accommodating. I was sent via email, and instructed to send
their credit authorization form back by fax; no fax # provided in email
or on the form. I had to call long distance to hotel to get fax # and
sent form. Same day got home from work to a phone voice mail from Sandra
at hotel about not receiving credit form but no last name left. I tried
to respond to her call, but was told there was more than one Sandra.
Person I talked with could not confirm receipt of the form and got a bit
snippy when I complained. My son (actual guest) said staff was not
unfriendly, but were not going out of their way either, and uninformed
about details of one of biggest us golf tournaments being held 30
minutes away. This hotel was prime distance to the course for golf fans,
and staff should have been able to give information regarding driving
directions, parking to catch shuttle to course, etc. Overall very
disappointing experience with staff for me, and for my son, who works in
a customer service position. Seems there is no communication between
'front desk' and reservations (a delineation I didn't
understand), except one took the payment information and other handled
room reservations....shouldn't those be same or closely linked?????
Overall, between my experience and my son's, the physical
accommodations were fine and lovely location. We both concur staff
should have some more training in how to service the customer. I even
asked that receipt of my second fax of credit authorization be confirmed
and gave my home and work email addresses and both phone numbers...no
response. Really? Zero, zip, no response. Thankfully my son and his
friend did not encounter any problems when checking out. My conclusion:
I guess if you make a direct reservation, and are the person checking
in, you will have no problems.
My son and friend occupied the room; I paid but was not a guest.
They said location was beautiful and easy to find, driving from
Portland, or area.
