We were exceptionally happy with our stay. I had taken my daughter to New York for her 21st birthday and after lots of deliberating over hotels chose this one. For the price I don't feel I could have chosen better. Yes it was expensive as all central NY hotels are, but it was worth it. It was a lovely size room with a queen size bed and spacious bathroom. The bed was very comfortable with lovely soft pillows. I had asked for a none smoking room with a view of the Empire State Building and got just that. We were on the 13th floor with the Empire State Building outside our window! The position of the hotel is good too, Macy's and subway station around the corner and Times Square less than 10 mins walk away. Another benefit was breakfast, so few NY hotels offer this. It was a decent continental selection with bagels, Danish pastries, donuts etc and available from 6:30am for early starts. We did go out to a diner one morning, but used the hotel the rest of the time. We were very happy with the nyma and when I visit NY again will not hesitate to stay there.

The hotel is conveniently located in the center of the city right next to the Empire state building.I Was impressed with the housekeeping staff (friendly) of the hotel and the rooms are very clean. The breakfast was ok but light and should be enough for people that are not used to eat alot in the morning, the basics are there. I liked the micowave in the room as well as the coffe machine. The hotel claims to give free wireless connection in all the rooms but many times my connection wasn't working properly or was very slow. The staff are fine at the reception but were not helpful when I phoned them in the middle of the night to complain about some fight noise in the street and when I asked them to call the police they refused. The person who is in charge of helping the tourists at the entrance is useless. There are 2 lifts in the hotel and it's not enough with the number of rooms offered, you often have to wait.

I like the location. It's just walking distance to the Penn Station where we got off the Megbus. Also very near Empire State Building and Time Square. Easy access to subway line 123 and NQR. The other good thing is they provide breakfast. I got two bed bug bites on my right leg on the first night, and another one the last night. I booked this hotel because I checked the info on booking.com which says it is a clean one without bed bugs. Turns out not. The bedding sheet does not feel like cotton too. If there were not bed bug, I would be rather satisfied with the experience in the hotel. Just don't want to try my luck next time.

We booked the hotel because our flight back home was cancelled due to hurricane Irene. The people of the receptiondesk were very helpful and friendly although the hotel had to cope with a shortage of personnel also due the hurricance. Most of the rooms are spacious and the location is great. Just one block away from the Empire State Building, and the undergroud, plenty of restaurants and shops. Finally we had to stay three more nights and got a reduced price without even asking for it.

For budget friendly hotel no corners were cut in cleanliness, courtesy, security, finish details in rooms etc. Spaces were well used and the contemporary decor in the lobby left an impression of efficiency and safety and personal warmth. Becasue there is no on site bar or dining room (other than breakfast area each morning) there is limited opportunity for downtime between shopping and theatre trips so you have to remember to pick something up to bring back to the hotel. There is lots of dining in the neighborhood with a great pastry and sandwich bakery right next door so this is not a huge inconvenience.

Good location, nice and central for all attractions. biggest let down was no bar, or dining facilities. it would have been nice to have the option. after a long day out sightseeing, it would have been nice to relax with a glass of wine and a cold beer. somewhere to sit, a comfortable lounge, room permitting. All need considering. On our arrival we questioned the Rep by the front door. We found her to be very negative, not at all helpful for our four day stay ( 25/10/11). subsequent staff, where much more what you would expect, for newly arrived, first time visitors

The beds were very comfortable. The room was clean and quiet (we stayed in a back room overlooking a courtyard). Hotel decor was nice. Location was great for getting around New York City. Close to Empire State Bldg., Madison SQ. Garden, two subway stops. Very good Korean BBQ restaurant nearby. Next door to fine Korean/Vietnamese bakery with excellent coffee and pastries. For New York City, a good value. Closet door stuck and squealed when opened. Staff was competent but not very friendly. Room was not ready by 3 pm check in time but was ready shortly thereafter. Continental breakfast was pretty minimal.

While the room was relatively small, the overall service was great. It was like an oasis in the middle of the desert ((( *^_^* ))). I would stay here again & recommend Nyma 2 my family & friends. Size of the room - too small

Close to penn stations and 5th avenue. Very confortable rooms. Suitable for those visiting the city. After checking out you can leave your bags there and go walk around the city. Breakfast could have a greater variety.

The location is excellent. I was a little nervous about bed bugs, but the cleanliness far exceeded my expectations. Just check the sheets, blankets and pillows for your own peace of mind. Only 2 elevators. One lady told us she waited 15 mins. in the morning to catch one. yikes!

Breakfast ran late enough not to have to get up at the crack of dawn which is nice on vacation but there was only instant sanka for decaf. Mirror was well placed and large. Lounge providing coffee at all hours was nice. Lighting was very yellow and difficult for applying makeup
