The location was great everything within walking distance.
the people on the lunch room very unconfortable
the close tho the penn station and the confort of the hotel
Poor staff---had booked a king size bed--only had a double bed in a handicap room--no tub..no counter space...no other options-- will not stay here again!!!
Location was great--2 blocks from Empire State Building
few selection for breakfast.
location, free wifi, comfortable bed.
They put me into SMOKING room without warning. Then claimed I booked a smoking room - I am allergic to smoke, I NEVER stay in smoking rooms. Then thye charged my 34.43 for transfer to non-smoking room. On my credit card, the extra chrge fowas $24.36, with no explanaition. When I called to resolve the problem, the staff was very rude.
I had to move rooms due to the terrible noise from what sounded like construction work that started at 1am plus excessive noise from some fan or something in the corridor. I am a regular visitor to the hotel and never had a problem to this extent but first two nights noise started at 3am , 3rd night at 1am
beds very comfortable , location very central
The room was good, but rather small, had to squeeze y dresser and bed. Comfortable be.
The lift is quite unconvinient in this hotel, it takes between 10-15 minutes to arrive to the lobby in the morning. (Rush-hour). Better to take the stairs...
The location of this hotel is great, next to the Empire State Building, and near several underground stations. Comfortable rooms, even if a little bit outdated.
corridor carpets/decor tired
room and bed
Comfy bed, location, metro on corner, price....
I appreciated the location in NYC- it was very easy to get to and from NYMA Hotel. The hotel is located near the Empire State Bulding. There were also plenty of restaurants near the hotel. The staff were friendly and professional. The room was small but cozy. In addition to the above, NYMA Hotel offers free WiFi. The bathroom was very clean and as other reviews indicated, the hand soap and shampoo smelled nice ( not too perfumey) and worked well. The weather in NYC was cold and rainy during my stay. Therefore, I seriously appreciated the fact that the heating unit worked well. The only negative aspect of my stay was that there was debris on the dresser top - the debris looked like the previous occupant had flowers in the room but still... The carpeted area of the room looked like it had not been vacuumed before the room was assigned to me. However, let me highlight again that the bathroom was clean. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and I would stay at NYMA Hotel again.
Breakfast was horendous - not enough tables for guests, felt like cattle being herded. Lift controls are not adequent for building - took for ever going up/down to 11th floor! Outside did not paint a good picture wiyh vomit on welcome mat.
Being located in Korea Way there are a number of restaurants and karaoke bars which are open 24 hrs. These are fine weekdays but from Friday night the noise increased dramatically with lots of street noise and cabs tooting until after 6am. Our room was clean but somewhat dated and looked tired with peeling wallpaper etc. the toilets throughout New York are like monsters when you flush. They are noisy and a bit terrifying.
The hotel is located in a convenient position to explore all areas of Manhatten from. Macy's is literally at the end of the block one way and Empire State Building the other. The bed was huge and really comfortable which makes such a difference in a busy break full of walking. The breakfast was basic but there is enough choice to fill up on before a hectic day- toast, bagels, fruit and yoghurt etc. It's a bonus to be able to access hot drinks all day, although there is a coffee maker in the room when asking for a kettle we were looked at blankly. We took teabags and just used the hot water from the machine. The tea offered in NYC is not great so do take some if preferred. We had a room on 8th floor so we only heard limited street noise. Do ask for a room facing the ESB and away from elevator and ice machine as both are quite noisy.
We would stop again at this hotel if we were to return to New York
No Complaints except that Hot Water failed once during our stay but was fixed ASAP
Location (Empire State is on the opposite street), WIFI, Decent Startup free breakfast
No hot water in our room the day we checked out, hence no showers!
Very "snug" room, but clean, comfortable, furnished with all that we needed, and centrally located. The continental breakfast and the room it was served in were both very good.
Breakfast room had no place to sit Elevators were awful Had to go to another floor to find ice machine Windows were so filthy that I couldn't take a photo of the great view
Great view of Empire State Bldg Bed was comfortable Early check in request was honored
The breakfast was extremely crowded and the room was hot. I understand that isn't totally in their control, a lot of guests and two open toasters giving off heat. But what was there just wasn't worth it.
Loved the location and view from the rooftop bar!! =) I wasn't expecting a microwave and mini fridge and that was great! Stepping outside into Korea Town was so fun and there are tons of restaurants around to try something new!
Thought location was really good grab and go breakfast was good Room was good size The staff friendly and helpful
Shower water pressure was minimal at best. Having to use the dispenser for such things as hands hope or shower gel is really odd I felt like I was in a hostile. The elevators are very slow, and always smelled as if someone was smoking marijuana. I booked a smoking room but upon check-in I was told it was non-smoking, I asked if the hotel was a smoking hotel , and it was in fact a smoke friendly hotel..but those rooms were sold out. I'm not exactly sure why I was allowed to Book a smoking room when I couldn't get a smoking room.
The bed was great.
Comfort and location were the key factors - near a range of subway stations get around the city, and the train from Newark Airport pulls in to nearby Penn Station.
Sometimes card key does not work well.
A good location for staying in Manhattan
