Spacious and clean motel-type room, with coffee and tea maker, fridge, shower and tub, seating area. Excellent bed. Reasonably priced. We chose it originally to be near our family who live nearby, and have returned several times for multi-night stays. Would stay there again.
Some traffic noise from Lombard Street, but this is a motel alongside a main road - the noise is not excessive.
Quiet inn. The pair that run it are very friendly. Can help with transfer to airport, and extra coffee should one need it. Good room, good bed, good sleep, ample coathangers, open windows with mosquito screens, partial view of Golden Gate bridge from roof top, reasonable price, good cleaning service, daily replacement of towels, goodish neighourhood, no characters hanging around Inn, only one or two homeless on Lombard in that stretch, close to Japanese sushi restaurant (not Japantown), quite close to Mels diner, and Cow Hollow, close to gas stations. All appliances work. Quite close to Big Swinging Bikes (rental bikes; bring your own lights and gloves...). This place is perfect for exploring Cow Hollow, Fishermans Wharfe, Crissy Fields. All require good shoes, or a bike.
The equipment is fairly 20th century. The coffee maker is suboptimal. The Inn is on Lombard, which is fairly busy. If you don't like the sound of traffic (even quietly), don't go here. The courtyard opens directly onto the street. There's no breakfast, and no coffee at the desk. There is a fridge and microwave in room though. There are complimentary cookies and donuts. If you're visiting a convention at the Moscone Center, work out your transport before hand. The bus stop is quite close (on Chestnut), but the bus 30 doesn't always run all the way to the Inn. The 30X is probably a better choice, but it doesn't go quite near enough to the convention center. Alternatively, take the 47 or 49 through the seamy areas in town (Civic center), and change onto the metro on Market street. Don't mix up Moscone recreation center with Moscone convention center... If you're tall, be careful when coming down the stairs... the concrete ceiling is quite low.
15min walking to Fisherman's Wharf and close to bus stop to go anywhere.
Room a bit old and furnitures definitely need a change.
Room adequate...nothing fancy
Paul excellent and very helpful. Other reception staff left a lot to be desired! Replace the TVs
easy access, good location and free parking.
not clean, dusty, facilities need update.
Location, free parking, close to public transportation, friendly helpful staff, relatively quiet rooms considering city locale
Quiet and in a main street. Free parking. Good customer service.
Somewhat bare bones
central in SF. Many places of interest within good reach
nearby a very busy and loud street (Lombard Street)
Needed a room while the wife was in the hospital. Motel was close by, clean, friendly staff. It fit my need
Room was a little dated but clean and comfortable
Friendly staff and convenient location. Not the prettiest place and definitely worn, but it is clean and reasonably priced.
Short walk to cable car easy walk to little cafe for excellent breakfast
San fran very hilly need are car
The location was great (close to pier 39 and Fisherman's wharf and rent-a-bike places for visiting the golden gate bridge) and the room was big and comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Traffic noise was not too bad even though the hotel is located on a busy street.
Could hear everything very clearly through the adjoining door - a bit annoying when the couple renting that room arrived noisily at 2am and continued activities until 3:30am and then left. I would recommend getting a room without a door joining the adjacent room. It would not take too much to fix the problem - solid core door and proper door seals, including one between door and floor.
The staff were friendly.
location, cleanliness, staff, great value for money
No laundry service just a washer and dryer in the corner of the parking area. Useful but I didn't like leaving the machines unattended but there was nowhere to sit.
Localization: a few blocks from the Fishermen's Warf. Elevator: we got a 4th stage bedroom and the elevator was indispensable. Staff: nice reception just in the check in! Lots of insider informations of San Fco. and free donuts and/or muffins at the breakfast hour.
Balconies: narrow balconies with low and apparently weak handrails over an inclined floor made our every day in and outs almost an adventure.
The place is a bit tired.
Location fine. Staff friendly. Rooms and beds good
The elevator makes a very unpleasant noise which, while barely audible in it, transmits strongly to the rooms. Price high for the comfort level.
Very friendly staff!!!
RATHER SPARTAN FACILITIES..
Great stay for a few days sight seeing in SF. Clean tidy and close to Fishermans Wharf
location was excellent, paul the manager and amy his colleague were wonderful, very friendly and helpful
Large room, easy parking, good location to get around. Try cafe lombard for breakfast, just up the road.
lombard street very busy so lots of road noise. all san Francisco accommodation seemed so expensive. This was our most expensive hotel and not the best but compared with others...
Well located in the middle of the SF hills, many attractions in walking distance. Free parking. Helpful staff.
Rooms a little shabby, undefinable stains on the floor. A complete makeover would really make sense.
