Nice location in the city, clean rooms, bare bones but we didn't really need anything - there is a tv, microwave, fridge, bed only has 2 pillows, our room was cleaned with fresh towels every day. FREE parking!!
Noise one night - there was a woman yelling in the middle of the night in the parking lot, since it's not an interior hotel - it was quiet loud. Our toilet wouldn't flush without a plunger.
Great location for city trip. Good price/quality for San Francisco. Friendly personnel.
The rooms were a bit outdated and the bathrooms were not perfectly clean.
Close to ft mason and fisherman warf area.
Had a room next to Lombard st and it was a bit noisy early in the morning.
Satisfactory in every way.
Could be cleaner, had to ask for soap, coffee machine did not work, no coffee in the office
We liked that the Inn was closely located to the areas we most wanted to see and we were able to walk or catch a tram to most things. The staff members at the front desk were very friendly and helpful.
One of my children's new t-shirts ended up bleached from something on the floor of the bathroom. There was nowhere to place your clothing in the bathroom, as the vanity is located outside of the room. The bathroom contains only a shower/bath and toilet. Obviously, one of the cleaners has used some kind of bleach product to clean the bathroom and it wasn't rinsed off, hence the bleached shirt.
Clean, spacious, location. Free Parking
The bed was super uncomfortable. I like a firm bed and this one was firm but very uncomfortable.
Bed was uncomfortable, decor was 80's style. The TV was a tube box. The room smelt like bleech.
The stay was perfect. Staff were very friendly and attentive and the location was near everything. I would most definitely come back!
This was our fourth time to stay at the Redwood - always satisfactory as a motel room accommodation.
Elevator was not working one day
Staffs were extremely helpful
Location, free parking, room cleanliness.
Street noise, somewhat thin walls (noise) between walls.
wouldn't ever choose to stay there; san francisco was totally booked
very basic Shower was not working WiFi was not working
Convenient Location to attractions. Friendly staff.
Small & Thin Bath Towels Cramped Size Rooms
Location, Comfortable, Good price, It's in the middle of everything.
You will save budget, and you can go anywhere in San Francisco.
location close to union street and marina area, free parking a bonus
it's basic and overpriced for what it is....
Nice clean friendly
Location and price
Needs cleaning, one of our sheets had a stain on it :/
Spacious and clean motel-type room, with coffee and tea maker, fridge, shower and tub, seating area. Excellent bed. Reasonably priced. We chose it originally to be near our family who live nearby, and have returned several times for multi-night stays. Would stay there again.
Some traffic noise from Lombard Street, but this is a motel alongside a main road - the noise is not excessive.
Quiet inn. The pair that run it are very friendly. Can help with transfer to airport, and extra coffee should one need it. Good room, good bed, good sleep, ample coathangers, open windows with mosquito screens, partial view of Golden Gate bridge from roof top, reasonable price, good cleaning service, daily replacement of towels, goodish neighourhood, no characters hanging around Inn, only one or two homeless on Lombard in that stretch, close to Japanese sushi restaurant (not Japantown), quite close to Mels diner, and Cow Hollow, close to gas stations. All appliances work. Quite close to Big Swinging Bikes (rental bikes; bring your own lights and gloves...). This place is perfect for exploring Cow Hollow, Fishermans Wharfe, Crissy Fields. All require good shoes, or a bike.
The equipment is fairly 20th century. The coffee maker is suboptimal. The Inn is on Lombard, which is fairly busy. If you don't like the sound of traffic (even quietly), don't go here. The courtyard opens directly onto the street. There's no breakfast, and no coffee at the desk. There is a fridge and microwave in room though. There are complimentary cookies and donuts. If you're visiting a convention at the Moscone Center, work out your transport before hand. The bus stop is quite close (on Chestnut), but the bus 30 doesn't always run all the way to the Inn. The 30X is probably a better choice, but it doesn't go quite near enough to the convention center. Alternatively, take the 47 or 49 through the seamy areas in town (Civic center), and change onto the metro on Market street. Don't mix up Moscone recreation center with Moscone convention center... If you're tall, be careful when coming down the stairs... the concrete ceiling is quite low.
