Nice people and great location

Very friendly and accommodating staff, rooms are large with refrigerator and extremely clean. Great location, right near Van Ness and Fisherman's Wharf. It was the perfect home base for exploring San Francisco.

The staff were great and very helpful It was great location close to walk to what we wanted to do and well priced for the location too. The room was huge and we were given lots of towels.

A very nice couple runs the inn. The rooms are basic, but comfortable. They also have HBO available on the televisions.

Shower facilities did not include shampoo; single tap made it difficult to get the right water pressure and temperature.

Functional: has free on sight parking and everything you need: coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, and all that you expect in any hotel. Easy access from main street. Neighborhood with all you need and near Fisherman's Wharf for tourists.

Coffee needs to be better, and TV stations are sparse with one HBO and no other subscribers. Located off busy street (Lombard), but not that noise intrusive, except for the lightest of sleepers.

front desk staff were very friendly and very helpful. the lines were changed daily!!! the room was very very clean. close to pier 39.

The free parking was great, especially since it was close to public transit and within walking distance of several great eateries and attractions. For less than $100/night we were safe, comfortable, and in a clean room. The staff provided us with a map and a few helpful tips for getting around the city at check-in. They were very friendly.

The hair drier didn't work, but it wasn't a big deal since I brought my own.

Close to the sea, and nice restaurants up-hill. Apparently safe neibourhood. Very friendly and helpful staff. They would phone everywhere for us to get the correct info. Free breakfast though not stated in reservation.

Noise from Lombard Street was unbearable. Tired furniture and fixtures. Staff cutting corners with insufficient toiletries, charging for ice, insufficient parking, old TVs, beds like rocks.

Good value, room was clean. No problem staying with kids. Room was exactly as I booked (no surprising changes). Met all expectations. Fantastic location. Beds were clean and comfortable. Check-in was easy. Lots of shopping, dining, and attractions within a short walking distance. All hotels in the area are older, with small rooms. Redwood Inn was a great value. Staff was attentive. No complaints.

This is a good location if you want to visit Marina District. If you want to go to the Golden Gate for instance. We actually rent bikes and from the hotel we could go to the golden gate, the road was stunning. We also could reach downtown through the embarcadero st which is also very nice. You can also visit alcatraz. There are buses around. Many restaurant on Lombard street and even more roughly 15 minutes walking on Chestnut ST/Steiner st. If you want good breakfast, try Golo Cafe nearby, best pancakes ever and amazing home made pastries. More shops on Union st but beware, it's a hill, so be prepared to climb up ! The room was comfortable and very clean. The hotel is quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful, advised us on were to rent bike.

The room looked a bit old. Some refreshment on the furniture and tv and such would be nice. The wifi didn t work very well but if you tell the staff they will care and try to help out.

About $70 per night plus tax! That's really a good place to stay with such a great price, the staff is very nice, and the room is very clean, it's very close to the fisherman's w. and it's on the famous lombard street! I would like to stay again next time if I come to SF again!!!!!

Stayed for 5 nights.Friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable, no frill budget accommodation. Plus's were lift, fridge and microwave. Bus stop one street over, easy to get to other bus stops and to Fishermans Warf. Check out multi day tickets from Walmart stores. These can be used on all transport even Cable Cars.

The people are friendly and give you a map of San Francisco and also give suggestions where to go. For the rest it was good and comfortable. The car noise did not bother me, but if you do have issues with that than it is not advisable to stay here. There is free parking and even though it is located outside of the city centre, it is really close to the bay and there are more than enough public transportation (tip: city pass) to go where ever you want. Not once did I have to wait more than 5 min on a bus or cable car.

Lipstick mark on sheet No real breakfast. They did have some donuts and muffins, but not really what I like to eat as breakfast. There are small nice places really close by.

Staff was helpful, provided directions to attractions and how to use local buses. Room was very clean, simple and well located. Would recommend a room in the back as street traffic starts early on weekdays.
