The price. And the room was quiet. The tv worked, and there was hot water.
The carpet needed a good vacuuming, and the linens were threadbare, though to be fair, they seemed clean. There were holes in the bathroom walls that seemed to be mouse-made.
Our room was old, shabby, didn't feel clean and smelled awful. No cups in the room; no toiletries. Sheets looked like they were 100 years old. I will NEVER go back.
The man who seemed to be in charge was friendly. He actually showed me the room I suppose to get my approval (I had paid a non-refundable fee on booking.com already so it didn't matter). The room was clean, had new towels, microwave, television (but the clicker didn't work). It had wifi, but I couldn't connect to it. Location was easy access to Williamstown or North Adams, there were grocery stores nearby. I wasn't staying more than two days.
The motel is used as a weekly and probably monthly rental place. I felt a little creeped out by the guys just hanging outside of their motel room sitting on hotel room chairs smoking and watching people coming in or cars going by. My impression of the place and residents was "down and out." My first night alone I didn't feel entirely safe. Door lock was very flimsy, no chain on the door, windows were not that secure either. The place creeped me out. Only the basics were attended to, the wifi password didn't work, and there was no one around to explain how to log on nor was there any info in the room about how to access it. Mattresses were terrible--I could feel wires protruding underneath. Do not look under the bed --you will see gross dirty plastic that once covered the mattress. I am angry with booking.com. I will never pay a non-refundable fee for a 2-night stay again and I may not use booking.com again if that is their policy. I think I was lied to on the booking.com website when it said there were only one or two rooms available so I had better choose quickly. The hotel had more than a few rooms available --the parking lot was virtually empty so Booking.com was not accurate. I should have paid an extra $50 a night and got a better room at a different place. Definitely a lesson in you get what you pay for.
there were no security locks on the room, no phones in the room, no thermostat in the room.
Sheets were thread bare -mattress was lumpy- pillows were flat with dirty pillow cases-shower stall was FILTHY(attendant did attempt to clean it to no avail)-sink was partially hanging off the wall-bathroom window so dirty one could hardly see through it-towels looked as though the were obtained from a garage or rag bin( need I go on). Price was certainly not cheap for the accommodations provided. Needless to say we did not sleep there. It was the only room we could find. We should have looked at the room and read the reviews before paying for it. Lesson learned. Please take this hotel/ motel off your site- a reputable business should not be affiliated with such a dump.
Noisy, dirty, fairly expensive
Only place in town
Overpriced dump. Wi-Fi wasn't strong enough to work in our room. TV reception was bad.
