I rarely book an upgraded room but the price difference was minimal so did so this trip. It was definitely worth it--the guest lounge "appetizers" were enough for dinner, the room was large and in a quiet area and the staff were very accommodating.
Can't be helped, but the club across the street was hopping all night! Fun to watch but not so fun to hear late in the evening :)
Great location, walkable to most highlights and wonderful panoramic river view from our room. good coffee shop. polite attentive staff.
Airconditioning far too cold in lobby and corridors. Dark orange hue in lobby area. Free wifi only provided in lobby area.
Rooms giving to me were not what I booked! I couldn't accommodate group of girls and had to sleep on chairs! They lost my baggage for over an hour and I was late to my event!
The location was central and fabulous. No need to taxi anywhere. We did a lot of walking which was great. The staff were wonderful. The hotel was very clean. I would recommend the Renaissance Chicago to anyone looking for a ideal place to stay in Chicago.
Only complaint would be that there were 4 of us and only 3 guest towels provided. We had to keep asking for additional towels.

it was very expensive way more than my budget. poor customer service, small room, bad room service. very expensive parking, no business center on site, only one restaurant on the lobby. I will never stay there again nor will I recommend it to anyone.
Location, location, location
The location was great, room was average. Very expensive for the type of room. I guess you are paying for the location, I won't ever spend that much for a room again.
I wanted a view of the city. Upon checking in I got a room on the 25th floor looking out over the roof below and train tracks. My room had a king size bed and I was with my 17 yr old son. I had requested two beds. I called the front desk and they told me since I booked with Booking.com that was what I got. They finally agreed to get me a room with 2 beds. It was on the 7th floor with the same view.

The hallways on the sleeping floor looked a bit "tired" - not dirty but not "sparkly"
Location, nice room, Navigator was great.
$65 per night for valeting a car. Group next door was having a bachelorette party was a bit annoying.
Genral stay was good. Staff in bar were very efficient.
Shocked to find no free WiFi in room. No robe or slippers in room.
The staff was friendly and helpful. When we did get a room ready, there was a note from management apologizing for the delay and some appetizers and drinks waiting for us in the room. Nice touch.

The location was a big factor in selecting the hotel, and I appreciated the space in the room, cleanliness and even the breakfast buffet the next morning. Everything was great.
Only issue was we wanted a double room since we were traveling with a toddler but only got a king room, so we had to share a bed. The bed was ok but the pillows were so thin that it felt like I was sleeping with nothing anyway. Also the shower leaked all over the floor bc water came from behind the faucet on the wall, so there was no way to control it.
Smaller hotel so there is less crowds. Felt more like a family atmosphere. Location and view great. Great Staff.

Loved the concierge, whom they call the Navigator. She really knew food and local restaurants and had compiled lists herself, not just a corporate list recommending chains and the ordinary places. And she was honest about what she didn't know. Rest of staff was pleasant and helpful, much nicer than the Renaissance in Tel Aviv. Location was great.
You had to ask for the bathrobes, which they brought up promptly, but it would have been nice to have them in the room. The check-in person asked us if we wanted a king bed and then checked us into a room with two queens. Not hard to switch, but still.

A person of staff was a litle rude. But, others were very kind. The hosting prices are a bit expensive.
