location good for us, clean, nice facility Starbucks in lobby
Guilt... I felt guilt because that place was filled with people who are working out...Even the Starbucks downstairs has health food and protein drinks! We came up to attend theater with friends and eat. Sunday morning, the place was filled with exercisers! It's was awful....
I got a discount and paid $159 instead of the usual $240 price tag. Great at $159 but this is not a resort location for $240. Since I travel frequently on business I have to watch the cost so I will only come back when you have discounts. In regards to the amenities, they were great!
Too high priced for Pleasant Hill / Walnut Creek. Noise from the parking lot and crowded gym didn't warrant a resort price tag. I wouldn't use it regularly but I would return as a treat to myself.
Was last minute planning to spend time in Bay area. Did not expect to find property where the guest services was excellent, access to a great place to workout, food and room service was excellent, all round friendliness and cleanliness.
Staff property cleanliness location very good
Parking can be tight
Rooms are very nice.
Very difficult to find. Combined with sports club and offices. Huge underground car park and no clear directions to lobby.
Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Layout of hotel was great.
Gym pool breakfast shuttle to town $
clean, well appointed room, great gym
we made this reservation well in advance and requested a king bed. we were told that we had made the reservation that day and there were NO king beds available. After much prodding and questioning someone in charge "found" our reservation and a room with a king bed.
The facilities were great, the gym and lap pool with sun deck superb. The staff could not have been more friendly or responsive. The location was great - we even took the Bart into SF for a five-star dinner - with no worry about good wine and driving back. The required valet parking with extra cost even turned out to be an elegant addition, with valet parkers highly professional and responsive.
Best service, wonderful stay!
Beautiful hotel itself and staff very very nice
Three times asked to leave room before departure time, parking charge hidden cost, pool very tight space wise, one Apple and one water in our room knowing two of us staying, one dressing gown despite two of us staying ........
great bar, convenient location comfortable rooms
The room was great, especially the bathroom (super cool design)
$20 a day mandatory valet fee. Also the fact that it was valet and not self-park.
Location superior to other major chain hotels in town. Very quiet, little freeway noise. Room very clean. Linens and bath superior.
First, I must say I have traveled for business and pleasure for 35 years, and never written a negative review of a hotel property. This is an athletic club doing business under the Renaissance brand. Although the layout of the property is very nice, guests have no choice but to park valet, because all the other parking on the backside of the property is for regular health club members. I was there on a quiet Saturday night and was told at check in it was a quiet night on the property - the hotel was not full. I had also requested a quiet room with a view of the mountains. When I arrived to my room, I found the view to be beautiful however it was located next to a freight elevator. It was not a quiet room. So I requested a change which was easily accommodated. However, the front desk staff did not offer to send a bellman to a room, therefore I took my own luggage back to the lobby to pick up my second set of keys. This was awkward. Later I was talked into making a reservation to take their complimentary shuttle downtown for dinner by a valet parking attendant instead of driving my own car, as downtown city parking was tight. I arrived for my reservation on time. The shuttle driver told me I would be sharing the shuttle with another couple also going downtown at the same hour. The only problem was the other couple was late, and the driver made me wait for them, also making me late for my dinner date. The shuttle driver seemed to be following a policy in which he had little control. The front desk would not release him to leave. Eventually another male employee came along three minutes before the hour and gave him the okay to take me to my date in the shuttle by myself. I felt the shuttle driver was extremely courteous, and doing his best under the circumstances. However during the 1.5 mile route, he was summoned twice by a very loud walkie-talkie - it was the front desk asking his ETA, obviously because the other couple finally showed.
Loved the facilities and the friendly staff.
Convenience and staff aid
Arrived at 11am - left within 24 hours - computer charged for 48 hours parking - ah well - convenience has a price
Overall, the facility is modern and very clean, and the bed is very comfortable. I will go back again when they have a good discount price for special holiday seasons.
Valet parking attendants were awesome. The room was exceptional, clean and comfortable.
