Score from 155 reviews Good
the hotel was very difficult to get to. Like a maze. The parking was so close together and shared with the Lakewood Church. Lots of pedestrians. In the morning we could hear our neighbor's shower. Very loud plumbing noises. Also, we were supposed to have a city view, but got a view of the freeway.
The staff was very nice and courteous. The room was comfortable with really nice beds.
The insane prices of parking and breakfast for 4 for $86.
Rooms were clean and comfortable
The only bad experience we had was a rude arrogant bartender in the hotel bar. Customer service was horrible. Just cause I didn't order an alcoholic drink he ignored us after the first serving. The other female bartender and was very nice.
Close to just about everything. Went for the rodeo and it was about 15 mins away. The Galleria was 10 mins away. Plus a lot of awesome places to eat and drink in the area.
Only draw back and disappointing was the room service. First they forgot about our order, then portions not with our order and lastly arrived not only late, but cold. No comps offered as I've had in the past. ESP upsetting as it was Valentine's Day and was to be perfect n special.
Everything was spot on!
Restaurant doesn't have good choice, housekeeping is not very good
Location, free parking with a room key, friendly and polite staff
Bed could be more comfortable
I liked the location looked nice and clean
No parking at all for free. Your either paying for self parking or valet! After we checked out and tried to leave it was impossible due to us not having a room key anymore. Hotel staff did not answer the call box as I had 6 cars behind me waiting. I was trapped and every time I told the valet walking by he just ignored me. I made it obvious to him I was stuck and he just smiled and got into a white SUV. He accidentally opened the hatch as he entered the vehicle. Then he accidentally smashed the hatch driving off. As I finally made it out of the parking garage I heard an old lady complaining that some one had vandalized her white SUV. The valet lied.
Location and rooms were great for the price.
-no complimentary Wi-Fi -no room service past 12am.
Restaurant, VERY POOR service and BAD food, the food was absolutely disgusting
Room clean, bed comfortable, good location
Generally the hotel is centrally located but there isn't much in walking distance.
Nice comfortable rooms, great beds and the very friendly and helpful staff.
The bar lounge closed at 12
This is my second stay at this marvelous hotel and of course they always exceed my expectations. The room was very clean and well ventilated and their beds are amazing.
Everything went very well.
No mircowave women front desk clerk was ruied.Wait on towels took 2 long. And a lady clerk was not friendly.
I liked our check in clerk a guy with accent named Amuel.I love the cookies. And a lady name Patricia made me feel welcome
The bathroom was a little dated.
We had a corner room on the 15th floor. The room was large with a nice view, and was very quite. Would highly recommend it.
They asked me to check out before 12pm as they r fully booked My booking up to 1pm they were not helpfull
Location amazing Food very good Staff so friendly
Construction in hotel
Very friendly atmosphere very clean will stay there again live the chocolate cookies
Instruction work at reception area Will end up soon
Room & toilets size are good and clean Starbucks at lobby Food court next to hotel
Renovation of property makes it difficult to access. Front desk night shift not very friendly. $27.00 a night parking fee
Valet staff were great -evening and morning. Restaurant staff excellent as well as front desk morning staff.
Incredibly loud sounds of hammer drills in solid concrete make it impossible to hear while in the lobby. Really unbearably loud.....don't know how the staff stands it. So I'd recommend booking by phone so you can ask if construction is over. I can't recommend staying there until construction is over. Also - and this is a permanent flaw - if you drive an SUV or pickup truck, you cannot self-park (and thus are forced to pay the valet parking rate) because the parking garage entrance is inexplicably only 6 feet high. Absurd.
Eighty dollars per night is a good rate for a hotel in this area. Like most Hilton hotels, the rooms are comfortable.
breakfast closed down early, and food and dining options are limited
Large big room
We needed rooms for a graduation at U of H and Hilton on the campus was full. Thought this location would be suitable. We were very wrong. Unless you are a business traveler with convention in office park the location is horrible. Very difficult to find how to enter hotel. Min. signs to direct you and the most convenient entrance off the frontage road is blocked off. Parking is beyond horrendous! $28/day to valet. Only other option is dismal, dark self-parking garage where you plunge into a deep, dank, low ceilinged maze for a hefty $18/day. You have to go up 2 different escalators to finally reach lobby. It takes at least 10 min to reach. Hotel under renovation which (we were not informed prior) and got no reduction of fees for this. Along with the parking another big rip-off is the $12/day for in room wi-fi. It's only free in lobby. Not what you'd expect for a Hilton. Our relatives are Hilton Honors members and receive in-room wi-fi as perk in all their other travels. Here they were informed their "level is not high enough" and instead offered a single chocolate chip cookie. Any complaint we had was met with a cool indifference and an offer of another choc. chip cookie. They seemed to be quite proud of these cookies and so delighted to issue a single cookie at check-in (regardless of how many people in your room). Although my room was clean I had no room cleaning, towel change or linen cleaning and I was there 2 days. The underside of my white comforter was stained with what looked like red kool-aid tha someone must have been drinking while sitting in bed. It had gone through the wash, but was so large I don't know how it wasn't seen when the bed was made. I informed the woman at the front desk who appeared to be a trainee so I wouldn't be charged some exhorbanant cleaning fee. My linens were never changed (but I was offered a single choc chip cookie).
They allowed me to check in early, but girl seemed new and difficult for her to complete process. First set of keys didn't work. Great breakfast buffet once I learned we could order omelets, waffles, french toast etc made-to-order. The hot food on buffet was luke-warm at best in the large chafing dishes. However, the cold items like pastries, fruits, yogurts and cereals were beautifully displayed and the selection was great. Delicious home-made granola. They also had the largest bowl of fresh berries I have ever seen on a buffet. Frequently replenished all items too. The cost of the buffet was included with Booking.com rate and was a very good value.
dust in the room
The very high room rate levied for OTC week. All hotels the same in Houston for this week. but way too high. I have scored value for money as "excellent" as I know this is not representative of the Hilton's normal pricing. If I scored the actual price PRPN, I would have scored it "fair".
# The service - outstanding # The location for OTC - excellent # They way in which the hotel management handle the current extensive $15m refurbishment due to be completed Jun 2014 I - almost unnoticeable. Did not affect comfort nor cleanliness.
The a/c when put on 65 did not really cool off the room. The toilet was not firmly attached to the floor and made a loud noise every time you got off. Not excited about paying to park. Our truck could not fit in the garage so it had to be valeted. They did not charge any extra for that service, but everytime we left an arrived we had to tip. We came and went fairly often.
Liked the location for our purpose. Liked the staff, the bed was comfortable and the size of the room was very good. Linens very nice.
