Great location, very convenient. Very comfortable room and had a great view of the State House.
The cost of valet parking and Wifi.
Loud music both nights which kept us awake.
Nothing that stands out.
Shower results in initial cold water wherever you stand. Hot water too hot and temperature control appears to be lacking. Great if you like alternating hot and cold bursts. Restaurant not much..certainly not for dinner. Some chain restaurants in nearby mall. Isolated from the town.
Central location and valet parking were excellent.
everything was new frendliness of staff
a little further than other center city hotels
The staff took care of me
However, my room was occupied, and keys did not work. other than that it was fine.
The view! My room overlooked the Capital building. Elegant decor and furnishings Very helpful staff Large room and bathroom Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Good well equipped gym.
Only valet parking available which was not cheap.
Beautifully appointed and comfortable room. Clean, clean clean. Convenient to downtown activities yet easy on and off the highway. Would stay there any time we are in Providence!
Great restaurant with delicious food. Very nicely decorated with very comfortable beds and a reasonable rate
comfortable - good value
A little far for RSDI, Brown students
Location is ok.
At our arrival we received breakfast vouchers. For each day a different amount! Very confusing. The staff wasn't realy helpful. In the end we had to pay extra for our breakfast, although we had booked rooms with breakfast included! We slept very bad, because a lot of people were running around late through the corridors and smashed there doors. here turned out to be a wedding party. Our neighbours were having some sort of a party of theri own in their bathroom, so we didn't sleep a wink! Hotelstaff apparently didn't disprove of all this and didn't even apologize when we complained. Parking is a disaster in Providence. We were therefore forced to use the expensive valetparking. The central halway/desk was under reconstruction. again, no apologies. It made a messy and unwelcome impression at our arrival.
All the renovations that are going on.
Location Restaurant in Hotel Friendly Staff Prompt Valet
service and room was great, check-in easy, got the room we asked for. Breakfast coupons for two made it an even better deal! Close proximity to large mall, great concert at the river, superb restaurants within easy walking distance. We had great stakes at The Capitol Grill.
Only valley parking at $29/day, no self park option available. There is a bit of remodeling, not a major issue just some minor annoyance
Beds are too hard, very uncomfortable.
I stayed at the Renaissance for two nights for a conference. The staff supporting the conference area was excellent - courteous and responsive. For the most part, food and refreshments were good - salmon excellent, chicken picatta was over cooked and tough. Desk staff was very helpful and accommodating (extended checkout time by an hour at my request). Location is within walking distance and/or short drive to some great restaurants and shopping.
Chicken picatta overlooked/tough. Booking staff refused me the conference block rate when I booked my room and charged me an additional $70. per night - same rate anyone unaffilliated with the conference (taxes, parking etc. not included) because I had missed the "deadline" date for the block rate. There was no willingness to even consider a lower rate given that I was there for the conference and part of a much larger block of business for the facility. I think they could have done better on this - after all the business is hospitality and service, and I saw no evidence of hospitality or service on the part of the hotel booking agent I spoke with. That said, once at the hotel, I encountered professionalism and great service from all hotel staff I interacted with during my stay. And, it's unfortunate that my perception of the hotel was colored by my first point of contact - the booking agent- this may present the hotel with an opportunity for improvement at first point of contact for the consumer.
Although they are undergoing renovations it is being done very well with minimal disruption to the facility. We loved the architecture and ambiance. The staff was wonderful.
Gorgeous decor, great staff, and beautiful location. The head valet knows answers to your questions before you ask them!
No free wifi.
Very large, comfortable, and well-designed room.
This hotel displayed a general lack of regard for sustainable practices: There was no recycling offered in the rooms (or anywhere else in the hotel as far as I could tell). The signage in the bathroom outlined a "green" policy of not replacing towels if they were hung on racks, but the towels were invariably changed anyway. The public spaces were over air-conditioned and the room thermostat was set at 69 degrees when I arrived.
First rate quality in design and construction. Best materials used. Decor excellent. Clean and quiet. Very attentive staff.
Everything is beautifull in this hotel!!!!
Very clean hotel , comfortable beds.
Location is good, very close to railway station. Beautiful hotel!
Location is great, close to mall and to RISD and Brown University. Hotel very comfortable and staff helpful.
Very loud people in next room and we could hear everything they said through the wall!
The location was perfect for my purpose. The room was spacious and nicely appointed. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. The breakfast was excellent with good choices and great service.
I didn't like that you have to get to the restaraunt through the bar. I almost didn't realize it was there. I thought I would have to eat in the bar.
