COST OF WIFI AND LONG WALK TO EVERYTHING
It is little far from Manhattan, with a car is around 30 minutes
The Renaissance at West Harrison as long been a wish hotel for me having stayed at nearly all White Plains hotels with varying degrees of satisfaction. Changes in our NYE plans due to work resulted in a desperate search for accomodations in WP and the Renaissance had 2 rooms open! We snagged on via Booking and checked in 1/2 hr before the stroke of midnight (with a call ahead to inform the hotel of late arrival). After we were settled in we came downstairs to celebrate at HIVE their restaurant and bar and quickly fell into great conversation with the staff and guests of a wedding from that evening. Melissa, our bartender even gave us a brief tour after we expressed interest in booking our wedding renewal for NYE next year! The bar manager was kind and tried his best to ensure the party guests got the most of their night before last call. When the night was over our bed was sooo comfortable I wanted to take it home. Having to check out early was disappointing as we passed the smells and bustling of smells at the HIVE. But we will be back soon!!'
Nothing! I totally appreciated the walking distance between the event space and common areas that aid in keeping noise away. The small comment was you can hear guests in hallway but I have not stayed anywhere where this was not an issue.
Prices of breakfast buffet, too expensive. No free Wi-Fi.
Nice hotel for the money, good location.
No wifi in room unless you paid extra. Sheets so worn out they were ripped in spots. Asked for roll away at time of reservation only to be told they never saw it and didn't have any available. Had to ask for extra towels twice.
Clean and comfortable rooms. Great fitness and bar areas
Wifi was not free, as noted on Booking.com; checkout time was different: 11am on Booking, noon on receipt under door and 1pm in the guide in the room. Required a call to the front desk to resolve.
I couldn't be happier with my stay, it was excellent! Super comfy beds, great food, lovely staff. I will definatley stay there again.
My family has been staying at the Renaissance for over 15 years whenever we are visiting nyc and rye. It is an easy location to get into the city and the rates are generally affordable. The staff this trip was much better than the last two years. Several of the front desk staff are still uninformed on standard information such as where the free breakfast is served and even confirming a reservation. Make sure to reserve well ahead as it is very popular for weddings and large events.
Beds need to be replaced more often so they don't have major dips in them. Front desk staff need better training on changes in the hotel and giving that information to guests when they check in.
The hotel was located in a beautiful spot, very quiet but close to the city! Beds were so comfortable!!!
Amenities and décor are top notch.
No breakfast included with the price. Restaurant menu good, but very expensive.
a bit out of the way if you don't drive in the U.S.
Facilities were excellent,
The facility charges for items that should be provided, for example: Wifi in room available at a cost of approx $10 per day. Our class reunion committee needed a screen for a slide show, and due to the ridiculous fee the hotel wanted for our 40 minute slide show, we went off site and rented a portable screen. We wanted to feed our slide show music to the hotel speakers in our banquet room, but the $300 fee was so ridiculous that we used a portable speaker system owned by one of our attendees. Finally, our room was on the sixth floor, and one of the 2 elevators was out of order for the 3 days we were there. Getting luggage in and out was extremely frustrating due to lengthy waits for the single working elevator.
The room was a very good standard. The hotel was clean and has good facilities. The staff were excellent and the grounds are lovely.
The hotel is driving distance from the local town and this led to regular taxi rides.
THE HOTEL WAS NEAR EVERYTHING,YET SO SUBURBAN.THE HOTEL WAS IMMACKYELIT AND THE EMMENITIES WAS FABULOUS.YOUR POOL WAS SERINE AND BEAUTIFUL AND YOUR EXERCISE ROOM WAS GREAT.
THE COST OF YOUR FOOD WAS VERY EXPENSIVE AND OVER PRICED.
Great service all around, Steven, Melissa and Ryan are awesome!
all of the above plus moans and groans fro returning wedding-goers.
Great Staff - Great Food - The VIP club had a very nice breakfast. I'll be back!
The comfort of the bedding, the bed, the pillows!
Driving from the main building to the guest building.
Bedding and shower were very nice. Right off several major highways. Quiet area. Decent price of $150 per night.
$13 per 24hrs of Wi-Fi. Far from restaurants and night life. No jacuzzi or sauna on site, only an indoor pool and fitness center which is connected by covered bridge to hotel room building. Looks like an 80s monster from the outside but interior is updated. Restaurant was pretty pricey. More of a 3 star hotel experience.
We liked the location and the setting of the hotel. The gym facility was well appointed and clean. Staff all around were very accommodating and pleasant.
The steaks seemed like they may have been in cold storage and the entre salads a bit small. Also, charging for bread and WiFi -- come on, they should have both been included.
The staff, especially Richard were very helpful and top notch. He even checked on us after we had our room to see if it met our needs. The king bed was very comfortable. Really loved the pillows.Nice roomy shower.
THE pool was small and no hot tub.It was odd to go around to another building for our rooms by a different parking lot and no luggage carts allowed.
Food and bar
Room was ok but handle on bathroom hanging off, window did not open, room stuffy, meal courses were served in wrong order starter arrived during main course
