An Icon of Liberalism
Home to one of America’s icons – the Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco is a liberal city where life is very much for the living.
Surrounded on 3 sides by water, it is spread over steep hills that make for great photo opportunities. None better than the zig-zag Lombard Street seen in many a film. Other movie stars are the streetcars plying the hill climbs – a little touristy, but still worth trying.
In the middle of the bay is Alcatraz island, famed for the notorious criminals once imprisoned there. Even if you don’t fancy going inside, the views towards the bridge and city are unparalleled.
Nowhere in San Francisco is life more laidback than on the Pacific beaches. Hire a bike and head out there via the huge Golden Gate Park, before returning to sample some fresh seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf. The clam chowder served in (yes, actually in!) bread is a delight. Chinatown also has a great selection of good value restaurants.
As you fly into San Francisco Airport, look out for the exclusive homes lining the Bay Area. Whether you want to stay in apartments along those lines, luxury San Francisco hotels or cheap hostels, Booking.com has something to suit. Be careful though – you might just leave your heart here.

És una ciutat molt maca, amb gent molt amable.
És una ciutat molt maca, amb gent molt amable. Té una xarxa de transport públic molt eficient. Hi ha molta diversitat de llocs per menjar. Els llocs per a mi més macos van ser la part del port, sobre tot l'edifici Ferry Building, el districte de la Marina, Parc El Presidio, Golden Gate Bridge i Golden Gate Parc. Tenen però un problema gran de gent sense sostre i de gent drogada pels carrers i per a zones molt cèntriques. Sobre tot la zona de Market Street entre el City Hall i Powell Strell, és difícil caminar-hi sobre tot a la nit. Potser el lloc a on no tornaria és a la Coit Tower, s'ha de pujar moltes escales per arribar-hi perquè després et diguin que l'ascensor tampoc funcina i has de seguir pujant a peu per arribar a un mirador molt petit, amb finestres petites que no s'obren. Es una ciutat preciosa, molt activa i interessant al mes de...
Es una ciutat preciosa, molt activa i interessant al mes de Desembre. Es vivia ja la proximitat del Nadal, amb arbres de Nadal per tot arreu, i pista de gel a Union Square. Vam menjar en restaurant xinesos i Hindus, tots bonissims! Hi ha el MOMA de San Francisco, molt interessant,. També es bonic anar al Fisherman Warf i a l'Embarcadero, amb un mercat orgànic i unes vistes precioses a la badia i Bay Bridge. Malhauradament al mes de Desembre hi ha força "homeless" vivint i dormint pel carrer, i sap greu que aquestes persones (de totes edats) estiguin en aquesta lamentable situació. A nivell de l'ajuntament de San Francisco, penso que haurien de poder allotjar les persones sense-sostre en fondes o albergs de manera que puguin dormir, menjar i tenir una vida mes digna.

Ciutat multicultural, amb gent molt agradable i llocs molt bonics i pintorescos. Menjar bo i variat (justament per la diversitat de cultures que té la ciutat). Transport públic molt ben comunicat. Llàstima del nombre alt de sense-sostre.

Tenen un "hall" amb màquina de cafè gratuïta i màquina d'aigua també gratuïta com a mínim a la planta 6. Molt ben situat. Es troba a la zona financera, així que és molt tranquil.la. A uns minuts caminant està China Town, amb un restaurant japonès (a 4min) molt recomanable, o moltes altres opcions. L'autobús número 1 que porta a Baker Beach (molt bones vistes del Golden Gates) et deixa literalment davant de l'hotel.MartaEspanya
