No problem. ...great hotel. ...great staff...great location! !!!
i love everything about this hotel .. the room was great staff was very friendly i cant wait until we go back
We enjoyed the amenities of the room, the comfort level was perfect, and the ambience and decor were both modern and eclectic.
I have never slept better in my entire life. They hold dinner socials (I am not sure how often, or the quality of the food because we only stayed one night and arrived at the tail end of it). I think that is an excellent idea and wish we had arrived sooner! The staff is really friendly and really helpful.
The room seemed to have acquired a lot of dust.
I always stay at the Residence Inn. It has been my first choice for hotels for many years.
I stayed in a room with no heat for 10 nights! I told them I thought it was broken. They told me it just needed to be reset. It never worked so I complained again. They said someone would come fix it & if they couldn't they would give me a new room. They never said anything so assumed it was fixed. It was freezing! Finally on the 10th night I was in offered to move rooms, which took them 1 hour to bring me a key for. Upon checkout I saw that I was charged for parking, $18/day which I didn't use. They rebated me for 6 of the 10 days. When I got home I called & asked why. The employee said they would credit my account for the other 4 days after arguing with me for several minutes. I still have not been rebated!!!.
Convenience to downtown Norfolk.
Room design made it difficult to manuever around the kingsize bed. There was no light to bathroom sink area, so when light was turned on, the light shown directly at the head of the bed. No luggage rack in room and limited number of trash cans. It was clean, but just awkward.
Very pleased with the huge room size, the helpful staff, and the pool/hot tub. MacArthur mall is within walking distance. Our room faced the main road which was noisy, so light sleepers should consider that. My family slept through it fine.
We liked everything, the room was fabulous, clean and comfortable. The staff were, without exception, friendly and professional.
Hotel is well maintained and our room was very comfortable.
Hotel charges $18 to park in the public garage across the street. This garage normally charges $13 for a 24 hour stay. I chose to park on the street.
The bed cover and mattress was full of bedbugs and exoskeletons. Sheets were worn and dirty and ripped. I moved to another room because it was one in the morning and then checked out. I would not go back.
The layout of the room was very serviceable and very nice. The décor was nice and the room felt large. The staff was helpful (they gave us directions and suggestions to help us enjoy our night here).
Paying for parking - however I understand parking is scarce so it comes at a premium price so it really wasn't a problem, just wish we didn't have to do it.
I live in NC so I got this room mainly because of its location. I was within walking distance of the auditorium as well as the downtown festivities. Room was nice and cozy. I would stay here again for sure. They accomodatted my early check in as well as my late checkout. Staff was very polite
I cant say that there was anything I disliked because I got everything I needed.
The hotel is like a home away from home, I love it The young lady that checked us in was very friendly and helpful
The pillows on the bed had zippers on the covers which scratch your face and I feel that the ice maker should be on before a guest arrives to there room it takes time to make that ice
The phone has no dial tone. The sofa bed is old, need to be replaced. If this is for family may I suggest that there should be at least 2 bathroom.
Hotel staff was too busy to answer their phones. Bed was terrible! Husband and I kept rolling toward the center because the bed must've been broken. Fold out couch had no linens on it. First room we had had a broken ac and they had to move us. They put us on an even lower floor and we had a terrible view. $130/night could've gotten us an amazing room at the holiday inn w money left over! Not staying there ever again.
Liked everything about the place.
Paying for parking.
Nice, clean facilities and good breakfast. Great location for shopping and eating out.
The junior king suite was perfect size for two people. Nicely decorated, clean, and bed was comfortable. Separate area with mirror and sink outside shower was thoughtful. Breakfast typical, but I did like making fresh waffles. Loved location. Two blocks to Chrysler Museum, a block to light rail station, two to three blocks to restaurants and stores on Granby Street, and about the same to Pagoda Gardens and waterfront.
Would have really appreciated information about the nearby attractions/amenities/events in the room. There were fireworks somewhere that we might have walked to to see. Ended up buying bottle of wine at hotel "store." Cheap room cork screw only worked with tremendous effort. Sell bottles with screw caps, if you can't provide decent opener.
The hotel is located downtown close to restaurants and bars. Parking costs $18 per day which there was no mention of. Breakfast was ok. The hotel hallways smelled and lacked proper ventilation. The sofa bed was horrible.
The price. The moldy smell in the hallways. No free parking.
The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the location was great. I would definitely stay there again.
Parking was a little wired, but was not even that bad.
location,..... easy walk to Nauticus, downtown mall and close restaurants, nice clean room. Staff was great, very friendly. The manager came around every table at breakfast about 730. He was still there at 1030 pm that night when we came in, worked hard to make his hotel better. Good guy
Room didn't cool real well. Wasn't hot, but, set the AC on 60*,ran non-stop, and it never got really cold the 2 days we were there. One of the reasons for booking this place was for the indoor hot tub. The heater coil was broke.Bummer . NO ice machines. You must go to the main lobby and have them get you some from the kitchen, thought that was strange
My girls loved the pool...The staff was so helpful and nice...
There wasn't anything that I didn't like. The Staff, what can I say, was exceptional... courteous, professional, willing, happy to serve. If staying in the area again, I would always choose the Residence Inn Norfolk Downtown. It felt like home away from home and this is the way I want to feel while traveling.
Well, I don't like to complain, but the parking price was a bit expensive. However, the parking facility was very convenient.
Location, accommodations, and food
My lights kept going off. I was charged incorrectly.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds, quiet, nice location to other venues. Liked that the rooms were on separate sides. Breakfast variety OK.
Would be nice to have the hotel room card linked to the parking garage; maybe it is but not explained very well. Be careful if you park at the meter in front of the hotel entrance. Was there for about 2 hours and I got a ticket on a Saturday (most cities only enforce meters during M-F) so extra $25 out of my pocket to the City of Norfolk.
