    The hotel is located downtown close to restaurants and bars. Parking costs $18 per day which there was no mention of. Breakfast was ok. The hotel hallways smelled and lacked proper ventilation. The sofa bed was horrible.

    The price. The moldy smell in the hallways. No free parking.

    The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the location was great. I would definitely stay there again.

    Parking was a little wired, but was not even that bad.

    location,..... easy walk to Nauticus, downtown mall and close restaurants, nice clean room. Staff was great,very friendly. The manager came around every table at breakfast about 730. He was still there at 1030 pm that night when we came in, worked hard to make his hotel better. Good guy

    Room didn't cool real well. Wasn't hot, but, set the AC on 60*,ran non-stop, and it never got really cold the 2 days we were there. One of the reasons for booking this place was for the indoor hot tub. The heater coil was broke.Bummer . NO ice machines. You must go to the main lobby and have them get you some from the kitchen, thought that was strange

    There wasn't anything that I didn't like. The Staff, what can I say, was exceptional... courteous, professional, willing, happy to serve. If staying in the area again, I would always choose the Residence Inn Norfolk Downtown. It felt like home away from home and this is the way I want to feel while traveling.

    Well, I don't like to complain, but the parking price was a bit expensive. However, the parking facility was very convenient.

    Friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds, quiet, nice location to other venues. Liked that the rooms were on separate sides. Breakfast variety OK.

    Would be nice to have the hotel room card linked to the parking garage; maybe it is but not explained very well. Be careful if you park at the meter in front of the hotel entrance. Was there for about 2 hours and I got a ticket on a Saturday (most cities only enforce meters during M-F) so extra $25 out of my pocket to the City of Norfolk.

    Easy to get around and a lot of space in the room.

    After it took 1 hour to check in. BThe female night auditor was very hopeful she did her best make sure we got into our room that I booked with booking.com

    I did not like the service that I received are young man when I first the hotel around 11 P.M. I got my room from booking.com confirmation and everything he told me that Marriott did not work with booking.com the yet the lady from booking.com they have been working together for years. There was a cheaper room available when he tried to offer me the more expensive I know this because the second auditor that came and told me that the room was only 100 and some dollars and he gave me a price is 260. He did nothing to make sure that we were comfortable and everything's getting handled.

    It made me feel like I was at home, the room had everything that was needed for an extended stay, it gave me options.

    Spacious suite. Newer construction and décor.

    There were 2 things that that made it seem that the room was not cleaned thoroughly. One was a pair of underwear in a dresser drawer. Second was illegal substance of pot stems on the sink countertop.

    Nothing at all, I was devastated with my stay.

    On 7/24/13, I booked a King Suite at the Residence Inn Norfolk for Saturday 7/27/13. My reservation was for a one nights stay through booking.com, as booking.com is the site I use faithfully for all my personal and professional travels where hotel accommodation is needed and or required. My reservation details where then emailed to me where I was guranteed a rate of 179.usd with a 13% tax for the night; parking fees not included all charges to be collected upon check in with other applicable charges for incidentals. The card that was used at the time of booking was a master card which is in fact my debit card connected to my personal Checking and Savings account with Suntrust. Upon check in I was greeted by Guest Clerk "Justin" who retrieved from me my photo I d and debit card used at the time of booking. My card was then swiped by "Justin" and I was given my key cards minus a receipt. During this transaction I inquired about any additional fees associated with my stay ie; holds etc. as well as parking fees required. I was told by "Justin" I was only being charged $40 for incidentals and that my stay would be charged upon check out, also that parking was $18 for the day. I then proceeded to the room with my family and lightly unpacked as we were headed to the ocean Front to return later, where my spouse and I planned a night out to enjoy the town of Norfolk. We left the Hotel apx. 45 mins to an hour after arrival. While out on the ocean front I decided to check my account where to my surprise I was charged $250 as well as a secondary charge of $40. Upon our return to the hotel later that evening I proceeded to the front desk to inquire about the charges. I was again greeted by "Justin" and the service I recieved was complete opposite of the seemingly intuitive guy who was ever present before any issue arrived.

    Centrally located, walking to food, waterside, festivals. Liked our first visit much better, clean. Pleasant, helpful staff, manager was very accommodating and refunded for my stay the second time we visited

    Second visit not clean, floors, sofa, bed -had to make my own bed after being handed the sheets but was refunded for the night by manager pet friendly- could be an issue with non pet owners
