Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Downtown/Gaslamp Quarter  

We especially liked the front desk staff who were very helpful, namely Cathy and Anita who went out of their way to help us with our concerns & needs. All in all the family enjoyed our stay in San Diego.

The check in staff was very nice. The lobby area is very nice. The location is very convenient. The room was very clean.

The room was substantially smaller than the web-site indicated. Just because it had a kitchenette doesn't mean it can be called a studio suite. The website made it sound adequate for a family- if we had had anyone else with us it would not have worked at all. We expected (and our confirmation stated) that we would have a king bed and pull-out couch. What we got was a queen and no pull out.We asked to be moved to a room with those things, and none was available. The vanity area is completely inadequate, and having it right in the open area of the room was not appealing. The closet space is very limited as well. Having the sliding door to the bathroom mostly clouded glass gave a feeling of lack of privacy, and if you turned the light on during the night, it shines right in the face of anyone trying to sleep. There wasn't even and hand-lotion with your amenities, and the towels weren't what I would expect from a Marriott at all. The food selection for breakfast was fine, but the area was very small, and many people didn't have a place to sit. It was also very awkward to get to the food without bumping into others. Having that many people with just one toaster machine and 2 waffle makers was inadequate. Lastly, after the ball game we came back and wanted to have a drink with friends. There was only one bartender, and she was completely overwhelmed with the load at the time. I requested an Irish Coffee. and was told they didn't have coffee after 10....REALLY???? In a bar??? Overall, we were very disappointed. We have traveled extensively, and have never encountered a Marriott property like this. One expects a Marriott would have had none of those issues. The swimming pool was tiny almost comical, and no jacuzzi tub.

The cosmetics of the hotel is breathtaking.

The personality of the receptionist was unfriendly.

Self contained accomodation near harbour, free shuttle on request .

Everyone was super friendly and very helpful and the breakfast buffet was amazing and it was complimentary to our stay!!

There was a dirty sock in the corner of the room so must had been missed but it's a little dark in that room so would be easy to miss bc it blended into the carpet!

Convenient location. The room with kitchenette was adequately spacious.

The valet attendants almost making us feel completely out of place standing at the door seemingly laughing at us directly in our face...loud, rude, and unprofessional. The room service attendant started entering the room while I was half undressed and even with her looking in the room and me yelling at her and waving my hands to to get out, she didn't understand English and kept on trying to enter a number of times. The only thing she said was, 'tomorrow, tomorrow'. I got dressed and looked down the hall, she saw me and kept repeating, 'tomorrow, tomorrow' again. Extremely embarrassing, frustrating, and upsetting.

Close to convention center and lots of restaurants and shopping. Nice and helpful staff. Breakfast great.

dog friendly---did not bring our dog but were woken up about midnite by barking dogs in the room next to ours. Complained but they barked for about an hour. This is a first. I called the desk and asked if there were dogs in the hotel ... got this answer "yes we are pet friendly." Very weird. The next night we didn't hear any barking dogs. Make sure when you get a room to verify no dogs nearby. Also, $38 to park your car per night. This is not the St. Francis in SF and so I didn't get the extravagant rate.

Nothing. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. The staff was very rude. In addition the hotel over charged me for the room. Not to mention that I cooked in the hotel room kitchen and was charged 250 for a smoke fee. My stay was a complete nightmare.

连续2天半夜都接到电话,说是找人,(可能是骚扰电话),酒店按理应该询问要核对找的人名字,不正确的就不应该转.第一天半夜还敲门,搞得我不知道发生何事, 算是整个行程中的唯一小插曲吧

O estacionamento é caro. Funciona com manobrista e custa cerca de US$40,00 por dia. As louças e talheres utilizados no café da manhã são de plástico!

La arquitectura, decoración, la ubicación y la esmerada atención de cada una de las personas, felicidades!

Desde que llegamos encontramos una jeringa hipodérmica usada bajo el sofa-cama, durante toda nuestra estancia no la retiraron hasta nuestra expresa solicitud, la alfombra del cuarto muy sucia con muchos cabellos, como si no aspiraran nunca.

Localizacion ideal a en pleno Gaslam, cerca del puerto y a pasos del Centro de Convenciones. Internet gratuito

Os atendestes sempre se mostraram muito gentis.

A academia êh mínima, com poucas esteiras e alguns poucos halteres, não êh possível realizar um treino de musculação com a aparelhagem disponível, mas êh melhor do que nada.

The full hot breakfast buffet cannot be beat! There was always lots of food and fresh fruit to choose from. And, the staff was very attentive to refilling and cleaning up the stations.

The description of "full workout room" is misleading. There are a few cardio machines and free weights, but not a lot of room to use the free weights. I also found my room on the 3rd floor to be quite noisy; however, the staff was nice enough to relocate me.

The location of our room was right by the pool area and each time someone walked in or out of that door, it slammed. Morning, noon and night. Very annoying!

The beds were a little uncomfortable. Would love a more comfortable mattress.
