Staff was wonderfully accomodating. Suite was spacious, comfortable and quiet at a great price. We parked the car at the hotel and walked everywhere! Coming back soon!
Location, staff, wine in the library bar, quiet room, character
Lack of coffee making facility in room
Very close to Union Square for shopping and first stop of Hop-on-Hop-off bus tours. Breakfast good with lots of choice, and loved the fact that we could get the perfect evening bar snacks at the hotel without having to go out to a restaurant if we were tired, also the bar area had great atmosphere for drinks.
Thought it strange the hotel didn't serve breakfast at the weekends, although there is a diner at the end of the street.
the location was good approx 4 blocks from BART and right on the edge of Union Square.
nothing, all was fine.
The hotel staff was very nice both at the reception desk and the bar. We enjoyed our stay in this beautifull old style hotel. The first room we got was located on the 3th floor which was quit noisy due to street traffic. When we asked for another room they immediatly moved us to the 6th floor which was much better. The room itself was of normal size with a small bathroom. The bar is great to have a cocktail before going out to dinner our just to relax and read a book.
All in all we stayed 3 weeks in the US and San Francisco was the most expensive city with regard to hotels. We payed much more than in other cities and were therefore expecting a slightly better and bigger room. Especially the bathroom was quit tiny. But this didn't prevent us from enjoying our stay in this great city.
The atmosphere in the bar and rooms. Free wine every evening, and a brilliant location around the corner from the main square, shops and transportation.
Location and decor
Surprise 100$ parking cost. Snuck onto the bill unapologetically after an enthusiastic concierge put us into the valet's hands. Watch out for the hidden charges.
Bed, AC, no ice, elevator
Location - close to centre, but quiet. Близко к центру, но тихо
The smell of old and dust in the room, staff not attentive. We have booked a room with two beds, told by arrival ( at 2 am from airport) that no availability - just a king room. Wonderful alternative for a weekend with a friend. Запах несвежей старости в комнате. Отвратительно не заинтересованный персонал. Мы с подругой бронировали номер с двумя кроватями, по приезду из аэропорта ( в 2 часа ночи) нам сказали, что у них есть номер только с одной кроватью.
The style and atmosphere was very inviting. Loved the furnishings and the quirky little murals.
That we could stay longer
Location was fantastic, and the decor gave the hotel a lot of personality. Live jazz on Friday nights. Bed was comfortable. Staff was helpful as well.
The free wifi is only for a single device, and somewhat slow. Found some minor stains on the sheets.
The decor was excellent and well done. The atmosphere was relaxed and informal with all staff we met being very helpful and obliging. Will stay again if in San Francisco. Oh and the location really couldn't be better re car hire, the cable cars, the shops and the BART rail system. 5 Stars.
If you are looking for a hotel with a spa this would not be it, but if you are looking for location and value for money this hotel is worth looking at.
the toilet in my room would not stay up while a man urinates. The seat would fall and slam loudly unless I remembered to hold it with a free hand. This should be fixed!
The location was perfect, easy to get to many tourist attractions on foot, safe neighbourhood, well connected to all parts of city by transportation, close to bart trains taking you to and from the airport; the staff were very helpful and the room and bathroom size quite right
No breakfast service at weekend...surely this is when the hotel is busiest and should offer guests breakfast
This hotel had a charming ambiance and was located very close to the cable cars, trolley, and bus stops. The staff were very helpful with our various transportation questions and helped with reservations
The elevator was not working the last 12 hours we were there but the staff were eager to help us with luggage.
The hotel atmosphere is so charming. The woman that checked us in was very kind and professional. The complimentary wine hour was a fun treat. The other guests in the bar were very social. We walked to Tadich Grill for dinner, it was an easy walk about a mile. Our hotel room was nice, simple and clean. Our room was in the back of the hotel and it was a quiet room. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, it was good and reasonably priced. It was of great value for the location.
Nothing, don't stay here if you want value for money, nice and helpful staff, breakfast, big rooms.... Completly useless hotel.
Staff very helpful
Price on weekday
Great location. Clean, comfortable rooms. Nice decor. Nice bar area. Helpful, happy staff - I requested a quiet room and got one on a high floor away from the elevator. Slept very well :)
If I'm being picky, some people would like tea / coffee making facilities, so they can have a cup without leaving the room, but it's free in the morning in the restaurant, so not a problem for me!
Staff was friendly, caring and informative. The in house magic / mentalist show was amazing. Nice Library Lounge area to return to at night and socialize in a friendly atmosphere.
San Francisco was a disappointment not as clean as it should be for the type of city it is. Homeless people disturbing.
