Mold in the room and noise
Location, staff and the back pub
Cockroach in my room. Breakfast room very old and not so clean.
perfectly adequate cheap place to stay
street noise until late at night
You never really know what you are going to get when you go with a small chain hotel. I was so surprised about this find. What a great location and value. Walking distance to Convention Center/Staples Center. Safe area, great restaurants. The room was huge, clean and quiet. The staff was very professional and accommodating. Adequate breakfast in the morning to give you something to get up and go. I also enjoyed the little bar in the back of the hotel. I will come back.
Great location, very nice breakfast included. Once you get past the dated "look", it has everything you need for a stay.
Street life after dark a little sketchy but didn't stop me from walking every morning and evening to and drop LA LIVE.
Could hear the people on the street till 3:40 am... Didn't sleep much
close to the theater, breakfast; lobby is nice; spiral staircase is a gem
awful room, drab, depressing, though can't say it was dirty. noisy people outside early AM. Don't plan to spend more than a few minutes in room other than sleeping. just not a fun place to stay.
Carpet was old and stained. Rooms Old electric outlets; some walls were filthy!
The staff were great and the location is very good.
Same breakfast everyday, no eggs!! No fridge in the room.
location was fine
Shower does not meet building code; that is about 24" wide. The furniture is early 70's woodgrain chipped and could use replacement. rooms are smaller. Sides of elevator not finished so it is possible to look down the elevator shaft. I have dust allergies and had a lot of difficulty breathing. Air quality improved the second night so assume the room was vaccumed. Carpeting old and dated so likely has a lot of built up dust.
i like the fact we could walk all around and worry about driving anyplace to see LA....
I didnt like the extra small room... the 1990s TV, the air conditioner didnt work, the sink was on the outside of the bathroom, it was simply very old and dirty inside the hotel....
Location to the Staples Center was excellent. There was parking and places to eat (ihop, subway) really close.
room had a smell of urine.
The couch in the room becomes a bed. It was broken. Just waste of money.
I like location and breakfast at hotel
It was right on Downtown, a few blocks from the Staples Center.
Old furniture. This place have not seen a remodelation in decades. The bed was a too soft, my wife couldn't sleep well. Slow WiFi.
Everything about the Ritz Milner was awesome.
The value can't be beaten. It's a good clean place, very safe and the rooms are clean and come with a comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom. With all you can eat breakfast included this place is hard to beat!
Overall we had a great experience only marred by one receptionist with a touch of the 'can't be bothered' attitude one occasionally comes across in LA and in fact everywhere in the world. It was a good place.
suggest they have packed breakfast for early depasrtures
It's about what you would expect for the price. Basic, spare room, not much space. The breakfast was actually really good with waffles, cereal, yogurt and more. Only real complaint is there were lots of bugs in the bathroom. They would all come out when it was dark. Staff was efficient but not friendly for the most part.
Walk everywhere. Historic feel. Quiet. In room coffee. Fresh cookies in lobby
Large roach seen twice. No towels in room on checkin. No maid service while I was out all day. Room was tiny and dirty dusty corners. Poor fruit in breakfast room. No herbal tea ever.
The location and the staff
How small the rooms were we put 2 bags on the floor and tripped over them due to there bring no floor space left to walk on
Lobby, staff attitude, especially bar staff, location
Dingy room, wifi didn't work, ants and a cockroach in our room. Manager gave us discount because of this.
Cali's a big place. You need to figure exactly where you're going. This hotel had the perfect location for us - 3 lads from the UK looking to party. You're right next to LA live and the metro to Hollywood. Watch out for the sketchy parts round the corner I.e. Skid Row.
I had such a pleasant time. Anything I list here would be nit-picking. If you're after somewhere to sleep - then it's fine. Don't expect anything grand.
