The staff was very helpful, the facilities very good and the location is excellent.
The kitchen facilities are very good but if one plans on using it to prepare meals one should note that there is no market/grocery store within walking distance.
The room was Comfortable, staff was attentive, location great, bedrooms quiet and outstanding value. We'll come back next time we are in San Antonio
Odor at entrance, but not a bigi deal
The cleanliness and staff were probably the best features of our stay. The comfort of the bed was satisfactory, but it would be nice of there was a blanket on the bed rather than having to fish it our of the linen sack and put it on ourselves. The WiFi seemed easy enough to access. The day we arrived, we were told we would have to change rooms for the last night of our stay. Fortunately the staff was able to arrange things so we could stay in the one room for our entire stay.
The facilities were very disappointing. You could tell things had been remodeled in an effort to improve the building, but the building had a smell of mold and had a musty smell that reminded me of a building that had been flooded, but not dried out and cleaned properly to get the musty and moldy smell out. The furniture was terribly uncomfortable. If I could have scored the value for the money with a negative score, I would have in a heartbeat. The location was absolutely scary. The entrance to the Riverside Suites was on a street that reminded me of an alley in an industrial area, including multiple homeless (and very scary) people wondering about on College Street asking for money, cigarettes, etc. and smelled of having used meth. When I booked the room, it stated it had a washer/dryer. When we got there, we were informed you could only wash clothes, but not dry them because the building was too old to have been properly vented for a dryer. In our room, the washing machine did not even work, much less the dryer. The whirlpool tub in the master bedroom did not work. The water pressure in the showers was so low it took several extra minutes in the shower to get the soap out of your hair and off your body. The walls seemed paper thin since we could hear our neighbors through the walls (fortunately we did not get neighbors until towards the end of our stay. Several of the doors in the room would not shut, as they had not been aligned properly, and last but not least, the main door to our room literally had to be kicked or shoved very hard to get it opened/closed. Overall we were very disappointed with our stay at this location. We will not be recommending this facility to our friends/family, nor do we have any intentions to stay there again ourselves.
We liked everything about this hotel. Position was brilliant and access to all amenities was great. Riverwalk was below us and was fabulous scenery for our stay. Christmas lights were still up and we had a lovely view from 6th Floor. Would recommend to everyone.
Nothing. Everything was great.
Very close to the convention center. Very spacious. Great facilities.
Right on the Riverwalk and close to convention center and Alamo. So much to do in the area. We were treated like luxury hotel guests for a very reasonable rate.
Being asked to attend promotional video for condo sales and advertising.
Great location, very spacious and clean. Nice small rooftop patio overlooking riverwalk.
We were on the 3rd floor right above Landrys so you could hear their music each night. Didn't bother us but could be a nuisance for some. Also had trouble connecting to the wifi- Landrys wifi kept interfering. And yes there is a terrible smell at the entrance! I thought reviews were being overzealous but yes, it's awful. Just hold your nose. But no problems with the location, not a scary street or anything.
The night desk clerk, Frank was very accommodating and helpful. He found a room for us for that evening and helped me get the room for the next two nights. Everyone else who I came in contact with was extremely kind and helpful. I would consider staying there again but an afraid another unforeseen emergency would complicate matters
My husband who was supposed to accompany me was in an accident they broke both ankles a week before we were suppose to leave. I had a volunteer to take the students traveling with us to their convention. When I called the hotel the lady who answered was extremely rude and condescending about changing the name on the reservation. The volunteer backed out the day before we were supposed to leave. I had no choice but to change the name back to mine which I did online. I received an email stating I could not do this. I contacted booking.com. They were extremely supportive and assured me.there would be no problem. When we arrived January 22nd after an 11 hour drive our reservation had been canceled and a new one issued but not for Thursday.
-good Value -Nice Sized Pull out Sofa -Friendly staff
No Parking Small room Kitchenette was not what was implied by the site- not equipped for ANY real cooking (bottom of Microwave is about 2ft above the stovetop
You could walk anywhere you needed to in downtown SA, having a kitchen was nice
Room not as pictured, false fire alarm early in the morning, staff overly pushy in enrolling in Club Wyndham
Location can't be beat if you want to enjoy the San Antonio river walk and all it's amenities.
Furnace blower in suite is quite loud
The location was great. Walking distance to everything. Room was overlooking the Riverwalk and December was a great time to travel, all decorated with lights on the Riverwalk. The staff was excellent and met all our requests. Would definitely stay at the Riverside Suites again in the future.
There was nothing that we didn't like about the Riverside Suites.
Location, size of suite, bedroom separate from living room, parking close to hotel.
Bad smell from the bedroom closet, room 601 was on College Street side which is the loading side for garbage and delivery trucks. Noisy early in the morning. Music from hotel speakers in hallways too loud.
The Location, on the River Walk
The entrance was hard to locate and the parking was down the street
Ok stay value for money
Rough around the edges accommodation Terrible pillows
Location- great room- front desk personel
We loved this place because it was small, quiet and tucked away but still an excellent river view.
The hotel was lovely vintage style. It was located near all the sights we wanted to see. We were able to walk most everywhere. And it was around the corner from the Riverwalk and all the good restaurants and shopping. The staff was always pleasant and helpful.
On the weekend there were a couple of night spots that were a bit loud. But it did bring back fond memories of when we stayed on Bourbon Street in New Orleans!
I came in early, so the room was not ready - no problem, they tagged my bags and kept them behind the desk. My room faced the street, but they put me on the wait list for a Riverside suite. When I returned in the afternoon one had opened up and I was lucky enough to get it. Throughout it all the staff (especially Lisa at the front desk) was gracious and accommodating. The room itself was comfortable, well stocked with the supplies I needed and with a great view of the Riverwalk by the N. Presa turn. I is a very short (1 minute) walk to Mad Dog English Pub and Howl at the Moon and just a tad further to Casa Rio. Other restaurants nearby (1-2 minutes) are Zincs, Landrys, Hard Rock, Paloma, Paesano, Rio Rio, Iron Cactus & Republic of Texas. It is close to Buckhorn, the Alamo and not far from the Rivercenter. I recommend getting the 3 day Rio Taxi pass as you can catch it it right by the steps that lead up to the hotel.
A Riverwalk entrance would have been nice. I did not mind the walk up to College at Presa, however, the aromas around the entrance (delivery dock for restaurants) leaves much to be desired). I read a lot of complaints about parking, but I avoided this problem since I had no car.
I loved that it was a two-bedroom suite, each room with its own full bath -- perfect for our family. I also loved the proximity to the Riverwalk. Our room had a great view, and there was an entrance to the Riverwalk just a few steps from the hotel. It's a good area of the Riverwalk, too, with so many restaurants to choose from. The Alamo is within walking distance as well. Oh, and I was excited that there was a Shipley's in walking distance! Best donuts!
The entrance to the hotel is kind of hidden in what feels like a dirty alleyway. We plugged our noses every time we entered and exited. Our bed was uncomfortable -- mattress and pillows. The TV in the room my husband and I chose had a very bad, snowy picture. We were told about a shuttle that Wyndham provided that would take us to various parts of San Antonio. According to the schedule, it picks up at the hotel every 20-30 minutes. We were in and out several times and not once did we see this shuttle. One time we waited for its arrival because we were supposed to go sit through a presentation about Wyndham time shares so we could get cheap tickets to Sea World, but the shuttle didn't show up -- we waited almost 10 minutes and then left. The location is great, but keep in mind that you will hear noise from bars and restaurants and people on the Riverwalk late into the night. The price of our three-night stay was great, but I sort of wish we had chosen a traditional hotel with turn-down service, room service, a pool, etc.
Location to River Walk. 5 minute walk to most restaraunts.
We had trouble with the parking pass. Also don't try to use the washer/dryer combo unless you want to waste 4 hours and only heavy water soaked clothes
Perfect position for sight seeing. Great view from our window and such easy access to everything x
Outside street area looked grubby
The staff was very nice.. We had a great corner room
The elevator and not able to take the stairs up
Location, staff friendliness, value for money.
Washing machine was poor.
Extremely good value for money. The staff were very helpful. Loved the complimentary coffee in the reception area. Lots of personal touches in the apartment, even 2 complimentary sachets of powder for the washing machine.
I wouldn't recommend the pull out sofa bed for adults, not the best, though it would probably be okay for young children.
