The location was good and the desk staff pleasant
The room was extremely small and the ensuite minute. The single bed hard old and lumpy.
You know going in that these are small rooms. But they are clean, have microwave and fridge and private bathrooms. There's an elevator and the hotel is off the main road 2 blocks from the subway to Times Sq., Penn Station or downtown. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Zabars 1 block.
Fantastic location, good neighbourhood, felt very safe. Park and Hudson river over the road. Staff pleasant and helpful. Rooms very basic and very small but clean. Reasonable, budget accomodation. Easy walk to shops, eating places and central park, Columbus circle, Time Square.
No kettle (seems to be the norm). Tiny, unpleasant lifts. Bathroom, seriously in need of refurbishment, not pleasant.
Affordable Great neighborhood 3 blocks to subway
Configuration of unit
I heard that some rooms are being renovated ask when you reserve for a newer room decent staff good location on Upper West Side
rooms need renovation, old carpets and bedspreads no coffee pot no shampoo or conditioner other hotels in Manhattan with weekend specials have similar prices
Perfect & good location for exploring Manhattan. Rooms are old and used, and definitely a little bit shabby, but very clean and you can see the efforts of the cleaning stuff as well as the owner to improve everywhere (i.e. the bathroom was newly renovated and the cleanliness was always perfect).
The doors are not real good to lock. Some open wiring could be easily fixed. The beds were small and too smooth.
price and location
old, dirty, noisy, weird staff
The reception desk was always manned with friendly staff. Wonderful view from our 15th floor rooms. Very convenient for shops and subway. We are thinking of returning next year.
The passage between the two bedrooms went through the narrow gap between the toilet and the shower - almost unhygienic. There was no hot water on our final morning there.
We had stayed on Lower East Side and enjoyed our change to Upper West Side. Great vibe in this area and easy to get to subway, Central Park and great shopping. The rooms are tiny and old but they are very clean. The staff were helpful and polite. Loved being able to park for free outside, saved a lot. Value for money at NY prices so a good find
Last day hot water not working, cold showers. A little noisy on second night with rowdy guests but that is not the hotels fault.
The location is great, views out across the Hudson and walking distance to broadway and Central Park. Wifi is free and fast.
We booked a two bedroom suite...what we actually had was two small rooms crammed with furniture seperated by a tiny bathroom. We couldn't even open the door in one room as bed was in the way, no floor space for luggage but it had comfy beds and was clean...this is NYC after all we were out all day and night and all we did was shower and sleep there so not a disaster
Great location on leafy relatively quiet road opposite the lovely Riverside park and the Hudson river. Easy walking distance to central park or Columbus circle around 15 mins steady walk. If you are happy to walk the city which I would recommend you can easily walk as far as Time Square 20 mins and beyond to the Empire State Building. The staff were always helpfull and polite. The area felt safe. Starbucks, restaraunts, pharmacy, general stores in 5-10 min walking distance. Nice walk along the Hudson river which can be accessed from Riverside park. Liked having a fridge.
Small rooms, particularly as my daughter and I had twin beds, one pulled out from under the other and we had to squezee past just to access the sink, shower toilet, well everything, very little floor space available. we couldnt even open our cases up on the floor. The shower/toilet were in great need of an update it felt dirty tho it wasn't but tiles were cracked, grouting old etc. Lifts tiny and slow unlucky if you are on the upper floors, there are 17.
We like the friendly staff. Constant hot water and clean shower. Comfy bed. Minutes walk from the subway. The room was small but perfectly adequate for just sleeping in this busy city.
Not that we watched it that often but not very many TV channels. Constant street noise from outside. Could do with double glazing, especially around ACU.
Riverside tower hotel is a great small hotel in Manhattan, with a perfect location and a great view to Hudson river. All the clerks are really nice and polite, the room was small but comfortable and perfectly clean.
The only one "minus" in Riverside park hotel for me is that i spent only 2 nights there, I def. would like to go there at least one more time :)
Location: good neighborhood; near major train and bus stops. - Price. - They had the basics; fine for a bargain hotel. It's not new, but it's in decent shape. - Staff reasonably friendly and helpful.
Very small room; felt cramped; bathroom felt like a closet. - Old, basic furniture. The bed was on a metal frame that stuck out a bit, making it easy to hit one's shin on it. - metal key for the door (not a card) - No coffee maker (not a big deal really)
it was a comfortable stay and a great view of the Hudson River. My mother was visiting from Maryland and I live in Westchester County, but we wanted to hang out in the city. Over all it was great, I have recommended the hotel to my friends.
The room was tiny...but we really only needed a place to sleep because after all... We were going to be spending more time hanging out in the city.
quiet nice area near transportation
toilet too near door in bathroom angle of shower head too high
View of park & water.
No handicap entrance. No inside lock for secure feeling. Tiny TV & loud AC Great value!
Excellent staff. Good, quiet, neighbourhood with easy transport to the city. Two bus routes at the door and a subway station two blocks away. A very decent deli minimart is also two blocks away.
The two rooms are old and tired but the bed was comfortable and linen was clean. Although there is a microwave there are no utensils, cutlery or crockery, so even a cup of coffee is impossible. We went up the road to a deli minimart and got two mugs and disposable plates. Seating is restricted at the small table when eating - but it is New York where accommodation is usually smaller.
The staff was super friendly & helpful. Rooms were small but had everything we needed. The view from our room was breathtaking! Liked the late checkout.
The location of this hotel is terrific - in the heart of the Upper West side, just two blocks to Zabar's and the 79th St & Broadway subway stop. Our rooms were on the 15th floor and we had a great view of the Hudson River and Riverside Drive. The cafe off the lobby has very friendly staff, and offers delicious just-baked pastries, sandwiches, and coffee. If you have a car, you can save money by parking free on the streets. We were lucky and found a spot right in front of the hotel.
The hotel is badly in need of renovation. Our rooms were outdated, very basic and very cramped. If you plan to be out late every night and out early every morning and just need a place to sleep in the city, then this is a good choice. If you're coming to Manhattan for an extended stay and planning on spending more time in your hotel room, then you might want to look elsewhere.
This location is very convenient to my family, located within walking distance to them as well as lots of shopping & restaurants. My view over the Hudson was great & the staff was very friendly, helpful & professional.
The bed was so-so a far as comfort goes but the pillows were very hard. I wish there had been a few more tv stations to choose from.
Basic no frills facilities and comfort and convenient, pleasant location.
The location was fine, in a very nice street and close to Broadway shops and Riverside Park.
The rooms were tiny and strangely set out with very small bedrooms separated by a toilet and shower. The hotel room was very rundown with some of the wiring looking very dodgy.
You cant go on the rooftop
Location - for our purposes was excellent and the view from our room was very pleasing.
Kitchen facilities are rather limited: A refrigerator and a microwave - full stop. Our 'apartment' did not really deserve that description; more like two, rather small rooms, connected by a less than 1 x 2m shower+toilet cubicle. Refurbishment of the entire building would go a long way to make this establishment a very desirable place indeed. The A/C in the double bed room is in need of urgent repairs (replacement of the fan motor - device is very noisy, sleep only possible with ear plugs). Front desk staff was advised.
