Everything looked quite shabby and smelled unpleasantly.
Fast WiFi. Bed wasn't too bad.
Poor water pressure, dirty room, grounds and staff, one towel with no towel rack, very thin walls, no AC, rough neighborhood
Location. Unfriendly staff. Bit intimating. Didn't even stay the night. Left and booked elsewhere. It's alway wise to pay a bit extra for something descent
Location next to streetcar line direct to downtown (25 minutes) Good value for San Francisco Good wifi & cable Good cafe nearby for breakfast Friendly management
A little worn & shabby Strange perfumy smell to room Idiosyncratic plumbing
The managers are friendly and efficient but also definitely overworked, so sometimes a bit brusque. Plus now they are facing the upcoming demolition of their motel (the whole block will be razed and condos built in 2015). Such a handy motel, close to the zoo, the beach (both of which are just across the road) and Golden Gate Park, it will be missed. Easy commuting to the other parts of San Francisco we accessed. Not the newest of motels but one of the cleanest of its vintage. Sad to see them go and hopefully they can find a suitable property in such a good location.
Robert's will soon be demolished so the owners are doing no, or as few repairs as possible, inside or out. The beds could have been replaced some time ago so they are a bit uncomfortable but not the worst we've endured.
The place was filthy
location price during hardly strictly bluegrass was 100.00 per night
The man was unfreindly, @ front desk very tight with towels no soap given on second day after room cleaned, one washcloth, bed soft bouncy, one pack of coffee office closed alot in afternoon dirty old carpet made my feet Black!!!!
see headline...and great breakfast place 2 doors down..fridge and microwave worked...good maid service
mold in shower...all towel bars broken or missing...wifi did not work...no a/c...trash in alley...old mattresses and homeless rummaging through trash cans and begging for food/ money in parking lot
Close to the beach
Rude staff... no smile or welcome at checkin. The lobby looked and smelled horrible. The room was disgusting (used tissue stuffed behind headboard on bed) reported it but housekeeping never cleaned it. The room had no A/C and temps were around 90f.
The location was excellent with transport to the city right there. Wi-fi was good, coffee machine, fridge & m/w all in the room.
The building was tired but I've read a review to say it's being demolished so that would explain that ! It was the most expensive motel of our tour so far !
It provided a reasonable place to stay near San Francisco sites and a peek at a beautiful ocean beach. The café next door serves the best apple-pecan pancakes!
I like everything
Next to the tram station which takes you to pier 39 and about 20 mins drive from Golden Gate Bridge. Host was very helpful with directions and where to go! Room was clean and ready well before check in time. Wifi worked consistently! Great pizza place 5 min walk up the road and lovely cafe practically next door!
I love the Beach atmosphere
Alittle run down
- The reception is nice - We could leave the car on the parking the next day while visiting the city - Quite clean, but not perfectly - Situated just new the beach - There are fridge and microvawe oven - There is the tram just nearby, and the bus not far away - There are some nice cafes to take breakfast just nearby - One of the cheapest hotels in San Fransisco
- The Wi-Fi connection is with the password. We were told the password was on the TV, but it was nowhere. (Probably we could ask at the reception, but as we arrived late, we did not want to disturb, thus, we did not have the internet) - There were several little ants in the bed - The water pressure in the shower is very low, and the hot water is not very hot: not comfortable to wash youself - The TV did not work: there was just the sound, but not the image - Quite far from the city center and the piers: almost 1 hour by bus - We found the price too high for the quality provided
Location, close to the beach Muni (public transport) is just around the corner 2Min walk Clean room
The first room on the ground floor , the windows did not close nor lock , The managers seemed uninterested but moved us upstairs to an equally filthy room. We were stuck in the hotel as there were no vacancies in surrounding motels/hotels, and we needed this location. This was undeniably the worst motel/hotel I have ever stayed in .
Comfortable beds, and Pretty quiet. The best thing going for this place is the location. Wonderful restaurant 2 doors down (John's...) 2 blocks from beach access, across from the zoo. Muni behind property.
Discusting bathroom...Mold in shower. I went barefoot in the room and my feet turned black.
If your not looking for frills this motel fits the bill as it has a nice location in the city and doesn't cost a fortune to stay at.
People staying in room near me were very noisy for a period of time in the middle of the night that even woke me up but thankfully they settled down.
Location to golden gate park, zoo, and the beach!! Free parking, close nightlife
Thin sheets, small rooms, traffic noise on one side of the motel. Back side is wonderful. Quieter and can hear ocean
Location was okay, owners were nice. If you're into mid-century motels it's right up your alley. The beach is right there, so is the San Francisco zoo.
Overpriced (although it was right before the labor day weekend) even for San Francisco, and in need of renovation. There were also some sketchy folks around parking lot, which is not securely enclosed.
It was at best OK
Male owner of the motel was extremiely unhelpful and unfriendly but his wife was so if you do you it ask for her!
free parking hostel very close to the ocean
when we came to the hostel the staff told us that we have to pay in cash, we did so and then it turned out that the money has been taken from my bank account. When I realised such thing has happened I went to the reception and they told me they would decline the money from my bank account. The money had been frozen for 4 days, finally I did get it back but it cost me lots of stress. Make sure you pay either by card or by cash when you go there.
Aged, cheap, dirty, don't stay here. Looks like a crack house. Scary.
It was a block away from a nice beach, and there were a couple good cafe/deli's close by. The Muni L line is right around the corner. Smoking rooms were available.
Had to ask for clean blanket after I noticed a used bandage stuck to the one on the bed. Bottoms of my feet turned black from walking barefoot on the carpet.
