the room was huge! Pretty clean looking. The shower had a sit down nook. Location excellent for beach.
I was creeped out! Lamps didn't work. People next for very loud. Felt like there were cameras in room. Could hear people downstairs talking as if in room. Windows didn't close fully, no air conditioner, mans hair on sink! There was only a chain on door to lock. No actual regular lock.
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION EXCELLENT WI-FI CONNECTION
TACKY OLD MUSTY DIRTY TINY BATH TOWELS REFRIDGERATOR NOT WORKING ANCIENT MICROWAVE TINY PILLOWS SAGGING MATRESS(S) LACK OF ELECTRICAL OUTLETS
It's a poor motel and NOT Value for money. The staff was not nice.
comfortable beds, close to the beach and places to eat.
The shower looked like it had been a while since it was cleaned, there is mold between the tiles, it was not cleaned while we visited. Broken towel holder, towels for 2 only when we booked for 3 guests.
MUNI access was very convenient. Had parking included with your stay (within facilities).
The attitude of the woman behind the counter. She had a hostile attitude. Not very welcoming. The room was pretty worn down.
My husband and I loved the location. The L Taravel drops you off and picks you up less than a block away. The ceilings were high and made the small room look bigger. across the street from zoo and near ocean beach. Peaceful.
We're not to stoked on the limited amount of supplies. Noticed cracks in wall. went through heck just trying to get basic supplies such as an ice bucket. Price was a little high considering how small the room is and how little you get in it.
I had never been to San Francisco before. I did extensive online research and thought this place was a good deal for the money seeing how we didn't want to blow our entire vacation budget on the hotel - also we waited to book the hotel 3 weeks before the vacation so our options were limited. Haha. This place was pretty convenient no matter what part of san francisco you were trying to get to. Me and my friend did all the touristy stuff and it only ever took up 20-30 mins to get anywhere. Lots of great local sandwich shops/restaurants around here. Free parking was nice as well.
This place is by no means glamorous but its worked because we didn't want to blow our entire vacation budget on the hotel bill. No major complaints. It is what it is.
Location is great...hotel is disgustingly dirty
Room was filthy..dirt on the walls, stained carpet and broken tiles in the tiny bathroom. The staff was rude to my disabled step father. There was no soundproofing between rooms and I could hear every whisper between the rooms. The bed was clean and smelled of bleach and laundry soap which is the only reason I stayed. I would never stay here again.
Refrigerator. Across from zoo. Muni train and muni bus connections.
Old, not as advertised , needs complete makeover. No shampoo, miniscule soap, thin, dingy towels.
The Staff was very polite and helpful. That means alot. I hope that never changes.
There was no mattress cover. The sheet's did not fit the bed. The blanket had hair tangled in it. There was white powder all around the base boards in the room, what where they trying to kill ???? the furniture was as if it had never been dusted, dresser look as if it was water damaged. Every time we moved the phone the tv would shut off. LOL...the bed frame had about 4 layers of dust at the top and bottom ..but most awful was the shower...the floor was godawful, it had hair in the bottom and it was not cleaned.Informed the manager he said it was just stained, but with hair in the bottom ...nope dont think so. The last person that used it had some type of filthy feet OOOOh sooooo gross,( so we were unable to shower....went to a more reputable hotel and paid $50 to just shower.) they only give you 1 wash cloth, 1 towel and 1 hand towel for 2 people...come on now ...really....it was stuffy so I asked for a fan and he offered somewhat of a hand fan..OMG....NEVER Again... I hope they just purchased this place cause with the amount of money going into this place they should be able to make it clean and comfortable...i am willing to pay for clean and comfort. I think maybe the money is being sent to another country for who knows what...so take to heart "You Get What You Pay For"... So beware
staff goes out of their way to be rude, worn down room, very noisy, loud bathroom fans you can hear in next room
Staff was friendly
This hotel was run down and way to expensive! The room was so dirty we put towels down in the shower and walk ways. The mattress had blood stains and I am still itching! It was so bad that we slept in hooded sweatshirts so NOTHING would touch the bed. There were stains and splatter marks on the walls and a faint smell of urine throughout the room.
A roof over our heads
The smell, the maids were rude along with the owners, there was blood on the sink when we came in, and wifi turned off after 10
The room was very close to attractions
Moldy/grimy showers with no ventilation, staff was very pushy and went and snooped my room even with a do not disturb sign.
The location is great! And that's all that's good.
The owner / operators have no sense of cleanliness, comfort or repair. It has the potential to be a great place but is run down, dirty, poorly maintained and generally unpleasant. The only reason we stayed was because we paid upfront when we arrived and its location suited our needs for this trip.
The location is excellent, just a short walk to the SF Zoo or the Beach. Excellent eating with Joe's, George's Zoo and Java beach in walking distance. Also, the OWL or L Muni Transit. Best of all, parking is free!
The sheets are not fitted.
So I checked into Roberts for the start of a 10 day holiday. Check-in was easy (late flight so checked in around midnight). Room was comfortable with a nice bathroom (bathroom & air conditioning could use a bit of a fix up but that didn't bother me). Up the next day and there is a great little cafe just on the main road next to the motel (Johns ocean beach cafe - looks dodgy but staff are lovely and food is delicious (try the pecan pancakes)). Anywoo location wise this Motel is great, Zoo is just across the street (less than 5mins walk) and the L muni stops right outside so easy access into the city. Would definitely stay here again when I return to SF!!
Bathroom could use an upgrade but wasn't shared so didn't bother to much. Air con unit needs a damn good clean!
The Zoo is right across the street. Good food and drink are within walking distance as well as the beach. Sure, it is at the end of the L line but they don't run all night. For those new to San Francisco, they can hope on Muni and go anywhere in the city.
The pillows could have been better as I bring my own, it wasn't a problem for me.
Great location across the street from the zoo and 1 short block walk to the beach. The mini bus stops right across the street at the zoo and the mini train stops right behind motel making transportation a breeze for anyone wanting to utilize the public transportation system. If you are looking to rent Roberts you are looking for price poibt, let 's face it. Reviewers bother me who expect a 3 star hotel at a budget motel price. This is a good value for what it is, a budget motel
Things are run down but hey, it's a budget motel. It was clean with great staff. Given this and the location we would definitely stay there again
Clean and funky, great location. Nice owners and the check-in smells like awesome Indian food!
Bad lighting. Loud outside, but is SF, what do you expect?
close to our work location
wall paper falling off the walls; paint job was poor; shower valves didn't work; towel racks ripped out of the walls 1/4" mesh wire fabric used for screens and screwed to the window frame; front door is heavily weathered
Nice place in a good location close to public transport stops so you can park the car and use the muni to travel around the city. The place for those who preferes to stop in a quiet places.
Location was great, right by Ocean Beach. Free parking, roomy room.
We knew going in that it was getting run down, but were still shocked to see a pile of trash (like, a mattress) right outside our front door. Rusty screens, peeling wallpaper... I'm a pretty seasoned cheapskate but this place set a new low.
