I liked the wireless internet. The motel is also in a quiet place
The place was dirty
Missing lid on toilet seat, thin walls, dirty floors and bathroom, no frig or microwave, piles of trash as a view, guy doing body work on his car in parking lot, small towels and only for one, no spare toilet paper. The worst motel I've ever been in!
We've atayed many places in San Francisco, and this wouldn't rate as a top-tier establishment. However, parking is included, the staff is not unfriendly, and it sits right at the end of a MUNI line, so access to easy transportation trumps any downfalls.
It's an old facility, and it shows.
staff were friendly
Walls were thin enough that you could hear a mouse sneeze next door. Door did not have a working dead bolt, did not close properly.
The location was perfect for our purposes.
The motel is closing on December 31 and no effort has been made to fix it up as a result. It was clean but very run down.
The price was okay, and I mean JUST okay, no breakfast - wifi didn't work. I liked the shower except there was mildew in the tile.
The smell of the room was awful. Mildew in the shower. No breakfast.
Everything was dirty and old. The shower water temperature fluctuated by itself. The cable TV stopped working. The owner was rude. The room smelled very bad. There was hair in the shower.
Cleanliness of the room
Heater for room broken. Got sick next day cause room was cold.
I was visiting my young kids and was taking them to the zoo, so the location was great. Cleanliness was average and room right by the MUNI stop so a little noisy, but OK.
We had a MUNI passport and the stop was right outside the door with cars every 10 minutes. The owner let us see a few rooms before chosing the one we wanted. Really comfy bed. A short walk to the Ocean. Upstairs rooms have wooden vaulted ceilings.
Water pressure in shower low. The hotel has no doubt seen better days but it it is retro. The zoo area is very quiet at night so no local eateries but easy to get a MUNI somewhere to eat/drink and then return to quiet hotel.
- Close to the Airport
- Not clean enough - Sticky carpet (?) - Bad area - 1 lock on the door instead of 2 - shower water's go down very slowly.
Beach is less than 2 blocks away
a little noisey
location, location, location!!
bathroom vent was filthy, heater vents were filthy, bathroom light fixture was rusty, and towel rack was broken
Good location to public transit, but...
Basic room that needed updating badly. Noisy, due to transit location - tram noisy (but convenient!). Facility needs some upgrades, for the price charged it was definitely overpriced as far as quality.
Proximity to beach and cafés. Parking.
Grungy. Smell of some sort of chemicals. View of garbage.
Located on west side of the penisula but right next to zoo, 2 mins walk from beach and transport links to west side of penisula(6 miles). Great catching bus every morning and seeing the real San Francisco. Room basis but clean so no complaints.
Understand the need for wire fencing around the property but does give a military/ institution impression to the hotel.
it was by the beach
tv didn't work no cooler walls were dirty manger was rude . it was a smoking room but no ash tray the key to door didn't work 2 times with 2 keys had to go back to office and keep getting keys didn't even say sorry just was rude.
Everything looked quite shabby and smelled unpleasantly.
Fast WiFi. Bed wasn't too bad.
Poor water pressure, dirty room, grounds and staff, one towel with no towel rack, very thin walls, no AC, rough neighborhood
Location. Unfriendly staff. Bit intimating. Didn't even stay the night. Left and booked elsewhere. It's alway wise to pay a bit extra for something descent
Location next to streetcar line direct to downtown (25 minutes) Good value for San Francisco Good wifi & cable Good cafe nearby for breakfast Friendly management
A little worn & shabby Strange perfumy smell to room Idiosyncratic plumbing
The managers are friendly and efficient but also definitely overworked, so sometimes a bit brusque. Plus now they are facing the upcoming demolition of their motel (the whole block will be razed and condos built in 2015). Such a handy motel, close to the zoo, the beach (both of which are just across the road) and Golden Gate Park, it will be missed. Easy commuting to the other parts of San Francisco we accessed. Not the newest of motels but one of the cleanest of its vintage. Sad to see them go and hopefully they can find a suitable property in such a good location.
Robert's will soon be demolished so the owners are doing no, or as few repairs as possible, inside or out. The beds could have been replaced some time ago so they are a bit uncomfortable but not the worst we've endured.
The place was filthy
location price during hardly strictly bluegrass was 100.00 per night
The man was unfreindly, @ front desk very tight with towels no soap given on second day after room cleaned, one washcloth, bed soft bouncy, one pack of coffee office closed alot in afternoon dirty old carpet made my feet Black!!!!
see headline...and great breakfast place 2 doors down..fridge and microwave worked...good maid service
mold in shower...all towel bars broken or missing...wifi did not work...no a/c...trash in alley...old mattresses and homeless rummaging through trash cans and begging for food/ money in parking lot
