We were there for a visit with family and to see a concert at the Eastman Theatre so the location was perfect. We were also near good restaurants that were walking distance away. The food was very good and the room comfortable. The decorating was very inspiring. We also had a friend visit us and sat in the parlor. So comfortable!
The Inn is everything you could hope for at a bed and breakfast. Lovely large bedroom with comfortable bed in period furnishings. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The fresh baked cookies, softdrinks and wine in the main living area was a nice welcoming feature. the location could not have been better. One block to many restaurants and museums and mansions. No need to use the car while there.
We were in Rochester for a daughter's graduation. The Edward Harris House made our stay feel like a wonderful home away from home. We were able to use their fabulous living room with family members for tea and visits. My husband commented as we were leaving that if we ever have an occasion to visit Rochester again it would be a 'no brainer' to stay at The Edward Harris House Inn!
The facilities, reception and serving staff, and all amenities were superb. The location of the B&B were also very handy to both major tourist sites and a very good retail/ restaurant area ... accessible both by car or on foot, subject to weather.
Strange local parking rules and enforcement could be a problem for on-street parking, during peak tourist season. The staff upon your arrival does explain the situation, so it will likely not be a problem for driving guests.
