Staff was accomondating
The bed was comfortable. Location was close to downtown area by car or bike.
The sheets were stained, non-smoking was irrelavent because smoke filtered through the walls. Mysterious stains on bathroom walls. Wi Fi was non existent. The man who cleaned our room the last day wore socks as he walked outside from room to room. Entire staff resembled a cast from the old show, Twin Peaks or Twilight Zone.
I was in an upper room and it was nice because there are no people walking by as there are in many other hotels. The room was clean but the microwave didn't work the people running the place don't communicate very well.
The place has some very bad looking rooms in the 'basement area' that I saw in passing and I think I would be very unhappy if I had one of those rooms. They looked very dark and unpleasant. so beware
The wi-fi worked great. The bed was comfortable.
The room smelled. Mold in the shower, coffee pot was dirty.
The room seemed clean and had fresh towels.
There were shirtless people getting drunk in the parking lot. I was solicited for prostitution on the way to my car by one of the tenants. There were people parting all night. This hotel is where the druggies and bottom feeders stay.
Booking.com confirmed the room for $35.99 but the clerk at the hotel, who could barely speak English, rudely told me that was wrong and I would have to pay $50 or leave. Had I visited the room and noticed the intense smoking smell and cigarette burned blanket in my "non smoking" room, not to mention the unwashed toiled and the fact the clerk could not provide the correct wi-fi password prior to that, I would have taken him up on it.
I was there for 4 nights, and I only saw the couple who own the place once or twice, but they seemed like genuinely nice and relatively friendly people. Parking is good and the surroundings outside the rooms are well kept and pleasant. I have said I wouldn't recommend the place but I what I mean is "not right now". With some work this would change.
The sign says "free coffee" but it was only left in my room on the first night of my stay (and the quality of the coffee was awful). Even though the room was tidied every day, no new coffee was left. The owners pretty much avoid any contact, and stay behind a locked door that you need to ring. They should make themselves more accessible, and there are plenty of ways in this day and age to do that without human contact if they prefer to avoid that. There was nowhere to hang my clothes in the room that I stayed in. If I had been on business this would be a bigger issue. Instead there was this great big unit that had some drawers and a fridge but took up so much space in the room for no real functional purpose. A small set of drawers and a rack with some coat hangers would have been so much better and allowed more living space in the room. I was in the first set of rooms nearest the road, and the reception of the wi-fi wasn't great, although I did get some internet, its just a weak signal. If none of this would bother you then by all means stay here. But the price in the high season doesn't merit the facilities. I would urge the owners to consult a professional who knows the hospitality industry, in terms of the way they run the hotel and the arrangements for the rooms and guests. I think the place would be 100% better for some straightforward tweaks in the right places.
Close to place We were visiting Bed was comfortable
Sheets and pillow cases stained microwave sounded alarm that would not reset.(did not use during stay.) Dust accumulation on storage shelf. Bed spread had soiled material Room was cramped especially trying to get in bed
It has cable. It will keep you company during the night because the lack of AC and the noise of the passing train will not let you sleep.
We arranged for a family suite because we wanted 3 separate beds. We ended up in a double room with two twin beds. This was one of the worst rooms I have ever been in the U.S. This room had two separate areas sharing a small really dirty bathroom.Only the first area had AC. The walls had stains on them probably of puke or blood. I wasn't sure if the color of the stains were dark red or brown. Dirt everywhere, including spider webs.
the room we had was next to the cleaning person room, in each was the electical room, he always had his door open, the people that also lived there in motel rooms, very distasteful,
Very comfortable bed (new?).Easy to get in/out of parking lot ,even tho the street was busy.Interesting shops/eateries nearby.Reminded me of the "tourist motels" of the 50's and 60's.
Didn't like the curtains that gapped away from the windows letting in early morning light ( picky, I know). From the age of the place I expected to hear through wall sounds a little, and I did! Could have been a little cleaner, but it was okay.
I liked that the family suite had 3 full beds.
The suite said it had a pull out couch but the couch was not a sleeper sofa. It had one section that came out as a recliner. - Also even though I called and confirmed my reservation before arrving, when my older daughter arrived she was told we did not have a resrvation. I had to call again to get issued resolved. - No one available at office at check out, just had to drop key in an unsecured box.
Bed was very comfortable, very good location, very affordable... Staff was really friendly and a pleasure to speak with
Couldn't get wifi to work, but that wasn't a huge deal and is the only thing that wasn't great
The couple that checked me in were extremely friendly. The room was clean and decent.
Pictures on the site were not accurate.
It was close to downtown
This place is beyond gross. I'm not picky and don't usually stay at any fancy places but this was terrible. Burn marks from cigarets everywhere , walls falling apart from mold, what appeared to be seman splatters on many surfaces, smelly air conditioner units that roared. I would recomend anyone to save their money and spend a couple more bucks to stay at a clean place
Nothing. The place was horrible! I have pictures to prove everything I say.
Our dresser was an old, beat up entertainment center. Our refrigerator was a beat up, very old, dilapidated machine which had been painted black...with a brush! The bathroom was like something out of a Chicago tenement. The walls had been painted so many times that they simply painted over light fixtures, too. The color of the walls was a sickly yellow/orange and the back wall was an unidentifiable color. In the bathroom was a door leading to a private residence in the basement which had been taped shut with a sign saying it was to a private residence. There was trash behind the well-worn couch and at the base of the beds. There was dirt and candy wrappers, and nut shells at the bases of the beds. The air conditioner was a piece of junk stuck in the only little window in the place and it only partially worked. The swimming pool had been filled in with dirt and there was discarded trash and syringes in the area around the filled in area. We took pictures. We cancelled our second night, made them refund the money for the second night, and we returned home rather than remain there another minute. As I said, above, we took pictures and can prove every bit of what I have said, assuming that you people actually read these things or even care. The pictures of the room on your site were not the room we were in and I will never book through you again!
I've never been in a room so dirty as this one!
was near where we needed to go. small funky motel style which was just what i was looking for. it was right on main road so well located. had some "charm".
weird layout. rooms in the back made the women nervous. the lights and switches were funky to figure out. has not much charm in some rooms and in others was totally renovated. bathroom was awkward.
Liked the vintage building
Some rooms were very bad, the first room was a smoking room and was like a crack hotel room. Asked to be moved and was satisfied with the new room. Most of the rooms had an odd shaped bathroom with the toilet placement too close to the wall making sitting akward. The water pressure in the first room was terrible and not hot enough, in the second room it was ok. Some rooms had been renovated and seemed fine some had not although they said they were doing them all. Not for the traveller who likes modern, but it has a vintage charm
It is a nice quiet motel, vintage, but updated. I had a very pleasant stayQ
The sheets were disgusting and had stains all over the comforter. Towels were not clean. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, the price was ridiculous for how gross the place was.
