My wife and I needed a place to stay while visiting our son at college for a last minute trip. We needed a clean, comfortable bed, a quick shower, a quick fairly decent breakfast, and close to his college (Hofstra). We got this at fairly decent price during a pretty busy weekend in Long Island when most other hotels were booked. We'd do it again.
Couldn't take a shower because I couldn't turn on the water. When someone finally came to open it I knew why it was closed so tightly. It leaked. A full length mirror and a hook in back of the bathroom door w/b nice.
A spacious and comfortable room with complete bathroom (not split like so many hotels.) Also, breakfast was very good.
Wallpaper peeling off wall; parking tight, refrigerator in room broken.
People very friendly.
Close to wedding venue. Staff was friendly.
The marquis sign was too subdued. As fine as this facility turned out to be, it deserves to advertise itself more boldly. The look of the ground floor rooms reminded me of some of the non-American-owned budget hotels that I see in Florida, however, if you are looking for ease of access, coming and going, they serve just the purpose.
The staff was very polite and accommodating. Large, spacious room, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was Krameresque (if you ever watched Seinfeld, you'll know what I mean). Breakfast was wonderful and filling, although I did have to ask staff to refill an item or two that had been depleted. Should the opportunity again present itself, I'll definitely stay here again.
Rooms (esp. bathroom) was a little dated. Not terrible, but a bit older.
Very friendly staff. Nicely decorated for Christmas. Very clean.
Very nice facility for the price
The outside of the hotel is not elegant and is misleading.
It is a comfortable, simple hotel that I would return to. It is relatively quiet and peaceful. Even though the decor is older, it's not offensive.
Parking was a bit dicey.
Very clean and quiet even though it is in a high traffic area.
The first night our room was on the ground floor and a group of drunks was hanging out on the sidewalk in front of our room. I don't know if they were guests or workers. I had to go out 3 x asking them to leave since we couldn't sleep with all the noise they were making. The third time I told them I was calling the cops if they didn't go, that's when they finally left. Also the cable channels in the room are very limited to maybe 15 channels.
The upper floor room was nice, had all the basics, clean and comfortable.
This place was a wonderful surprise! It was a bit dates but well maintained. There have been some upgrades that were obvious like bedding, bathroom counter top, etc. It was very clean and quiet. I won't hesitate to stayed here again when in the area.
The rugs, bedding indeed the entire furniture should be charged
Having gotten used to incredible breakfast spreads in Scotland and England, the breakfast was a bit of a let-down, but by American standards, it was perfectly fine, if a little boring. Other than that we were very pleased with the hotel, overall.
We spent 2 nights here in August after a very long trip from Europe, arriving at JFK very late on a Saturday night. We are from upstate NY and had an appointment in NYC on Monday morning and our goal with this stay was to be able to rest and recover from the trip, and possibly be able to go to the beach on Sunday. Rockville Center Inn was perfect for this. We were picked up at JFK by hotel staff, and then on Monday morning taken to the train station, as needed. Our room was large and gracious. We could have spent the whole day in it resting very comfortably, but in fact we did get to the beach. Walked into Rockville Center, and took the bus from there. The only bad things was the $12 each to go to the beach, but that was not the hotel's fault. Our room was quiet, and very pleasant.
The hotel is little outdated and dark appearance from the outside but it has a special charm. Everything is polished and clean. I got my best rest while on vacation.
Easily accessible, apart from the best beaches of Long Beach.
clean, courteous staff, great location , very comfortable bed
Breakfast eggs were cold all 3 days.Wi ti poor
Everyone was pleasent.went out of their way to make you comfortable.
Need more parking spaces
quiet, large room,in room amenities
the inn is dated and needs refreshing of paint and carpeting
value for the dollar
Long Island is expensive, so it may be worth a little extra for a more centrally located hotel with more bells and whistles (I had to walk a half mile to the free gym, and if your new to the area, it wasn't obvious). It was just a touch run down--peeled wall paper, etc, but very clean. Big peeve: they insisted on activating your room key nearly everyday, even if you had a reservation for 4 days.
I liked the size of the room, the small kitchen niche, the cleanliness.
outside of hotel looks very old and unattractive
room was large and comfortable. air cond. was quiet and efficient
Left my kindle behind. Honest staff member turned it in ti the front desk. thank you again
People next room were VERY loud early morning and so I told the morning receptionist at check out that people shouldn't be standing in the front of the rooms talking loud for 2 hours straight and that it was something to prevent in the future. He (the morning receptionist) laughed instead of apologizing for the inconvenience. It was terribly rude of him! It is not a place I'll go back to nor refer to anyone I know. Sorry guys.
The night time receptionist was very professional and sweet.
Our room was facing outside near the entrance to the front desk. This area was quite noisy at times due to the back and forth of the shuttle and the voices of people going in and out. We were also unhappy with the size of the bed pillows. They were smaller than standard size and were used on a king size bed. However, we made the best of it.
The staff was friendly and easy to talk. Since we were waiting to move into our new home, the attitudes of the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel made the wait to move much easier. We also enjoyed the variety of food at breakfast.
I didn't like the hotel don't have a pool or activities to do in the hotel.
Well the area was okay
