The friendliness of the staff The nearness to stores, and a great restaurant Comfortable and clean room Consistency year-to-year Recent upgrades are great
Cleanliness, price and comfort
Bed too hard. WiFi login took several tries. After login, ok.
Thin towels, small pillows
Breakfast is listed as included. It was coffee and Costo buns. I don't call that breakfast.
Price. Was close to highway, grocery store, drug store, and laundromat, all of which we used.
Decor needs upgrading: bedspread, paint color on walls, furniture, artwork are all out of date. The downside in terms of location is that it was too far to walk to Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
bathroom was updated and very nice. clean room and comfortable stay.
Beds are not comfortable
Very convenient to the University.
A bit more healthful breakfast options would be nice. Maybe some cold cereal that is not full of sugar, or oatmeal etc.
Nice clean motel. Everything worked. I could not have asked for a better room.
Right off of I-5 Freeway. Friendly staff.
There appear to be other motels locally that would be a better value. Older hotel--from 1970's No sprinkler system, No hasp lock on door.
Although the free breakfast area was very small, it was not crowded when we were there. Nice to have a fresh banana to go with the raisin bran. The cranberry and orange juices were fine. Beds were comfortable, and the bathroom had been refinished and was clean and attractive in appearance. Staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was painless.
The coffee was average, not great. Not much choice for breakfast. Some cold cereal, sweetened yogurt, and cellophane wrapped pastries, and a juice machine.
Beds need upgrading
Close to freeway - easy to find & access.
Close to freeway - little bit noisy early in morning.
The room itself is pretty standard for a cheap motel- nothing fancy, but if all you need is a shower and a bed then that's what they have.
There was water on the floor in the bathroom. At first we assumed it must have just been poor housekeeping and we cleaned it up ourselves. Later that night, when we woke up sweating, we realized the AC was broken. We spent literally hours trying to fix it because they have no night attendant and we didn't want to wake up others. By the next morning, we realized there was more water on the bathroom floor and the room smelled horribly of old urine. When I went to discuss the problems we'd had with the owner, after getting maybe 3 hours of sleep, she offered me a 5% discount- that's a whole $4! I went back to my room, packed up, and swore to never go back. We ended up spending a few more dollars the next night at a nicer hotel just to ensure we got a good night's sleep.
Good price, easy to find,
Several miles from town and hence from theaters, although right off I-5.
Pool & cost.
Sleep depriving bar next door.
The room was clean.
Updates were obviously very limited. Paint needed to cover patches on walls.
Pretty run down place. Drapes were ratty; made me wonder about the overall cleanliness and upkeep. Pillows were tiny; had to ask for two more. Just the barest amenities.
I liked the fact that the room was recently updated and everything was very clean. The desk people were very nice and helpful. I will stay there again in future travels.
I love the town of Ashland. I am a thespian so I went up for the OSF and the location was all I hoped for
but I was told through multiple websites the hotel was in walking distance. When a show gets out at 11:30 and I go out for dinner after I would prefer not to have to walk for over an hour to get to bed.
The room was spotless, obviously they had done a recent upgrade.
No long distance phone service despite directions on the room phone of how to dial long distance. I was told that the motel didn't have long distance service and to contact the manager. I consider this false advertising. The tv stopped working, and I had to get motel staff fix it; it took 3 of them. The continental breakfast was poor; the coffee was almost always empty. The room key sometimes did not work; I noticed other guests having the same problem trying to enter their room. I will never stay there ever again, nor would I recommend it to friends. There were several other motels in the same area. If getting reservations had been easier, I would have switched motels during my stay. I used to be a teacher; I would definitely assign a failing grade to this motel.
Good location and comfortable room
Selection of TV channels not great
