Ambience courtesy of staff an overall feel good experience
Staff was very helpful
Could hear conversation in the nex room!
Can't beat location for midtown
Minute bathroom - the toilet was wedged between the sink & bath and the coldest floor ever. The room was very cold unless I turned on the air con which just basically blasted warm air, very loudly and so impossible to keep a constant warm temperature particularly through the night. Minibar ridiculously expensive as was room service which also added a delivery charge plus a service charge (so double tip). No coffee making facilities in room so popped down to restaurant to get coffee from coffee urn with paper cup and was given a bill for $5. Seriously, when you pay this much for a hotel the least you should be able to get is a coffee. I'm on business and on expenses but it's the principal that bugs me and makes me not spend in the hotel. Drop your food and beverages prices and people will spend more!
Location and helpfulness of staff
Corner rooms need shelves in bathrooms
Location and comfort!
Rate is expensive
Very good location, good breakfast, good room.
We were surprised at the front desk when the price was changed from booking.com up to 50%. I missed disclamer, yes. But city tax, tax, hotel fee and other... It is too much for NY. It is city hotel not Hawaii or Mexica.
Loved the staff, the decor, location, price, everything.
Walls are thin, sound travels. No bath
The staff at the Roger were so warm and friendly, it felt as if we had been staying there for years. The bed was SO comfortable. It's also an amazingly quiet area for NYC yet still a short distance to great restaurants and nightlife. We will definitely be returning for a longer stay!
The room wasn't huge, but for such a great price and for such a high quality place, it didn't bother us at all!
First this is a hotel for someone who want to be in a quite part of New York. It is charming and staff is very good. Wifi is free. Tv's are HD.
The rooms are badly illuminated. We had two rooms. One with two beds was very comfortable, the other one with one bed was rather small. Although we had made a reservation for another room we opted for this one since they were next to each other. The service charge of $11 to bring two expressos in the morning was excessive.
Great location, friendly staff, nice little bar/restaurant with great food and drinks and unusually a good gym. Finally the Wifi was free and worked well throughout the hotel.
The rooms were a little too warm for me and the temperature control didn't seem to make much difference, on the up side I was able to open the window to the freezing weather outside. The gym was also a little too warm.
Friendly staff, free wifi and use of facilities.
Admin fee on bill. Room rate quotes should also include taxes as price paid ended up over 40% more than that quoted!!
Very, very friendly staff and a great location in the thirties of Manhattan. You can walk up to mid-town or down to Eataly.
The bathroom does not have any heating. It was freezing cold. Like more and more hotels they now charge an USD 25 "admin fee" or your espresso extra at the USD 25 breakfast....
Lobby and wine hour
Room very small / Bad inside window view
Great location close to attractions & subway Fresh décor Friendly & consummate professional staff Nicely sized room Great value for the rate
The hotel is perfectly placed to getting everywhere - in easy walking distance of most places and a subway station at the end of the street. Lots of decent places to eat nearby too in Koreatown. We felt we were close enough to everything but not right in the middle which was perfect for us. 5 min walk to Empire State, 15 min to Times Square, 20 min to Rockefeller. The hotel was clean and very comfy. After reading some reviews i was hesitant given peoples comments about room and bathroom sizes - but they were absolutely fine - plenty of room to walk round the bed and a desk and hallway. We had plenty of space and we were there for a week with two big bags. The staff were friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay here again.
The sound proofing in the hotel rooms isn't great. You could hear doors slamming as people came and went but we were however in a room next to the elevator and there was not enough noise to cause us an issue. We didn't eat at the hotel but we did have a cocktail one night and unfortunately they were both awful. If you re going to drink here, stick with beer or wine!
Close to Koreatown Walking distance to Midtown, 5th Ave., etc. Comfortable rooms Nice lobby Helpful staff
Rooms too warm even in winter, requiring you to sleep with window open, listening to all-night garbage pickups. Small window. No door on shower. No vent in bathroom. Mandatory $26/day "Resort Fee" for use of Wi-Fi and gym. Only breakfast is a $28 buffet.
the hotels in the area of the 30s on the east side are a mixed bag, and not that long ago, many were used to house new yorks homeless population. some have been nicely renovated, others less so. the roger williams is an example of impecable service and quality, and worth choosing even if you are not a fan of murray hill.
$6 bottle of water placed on the night table next to bed. sure thetres a sticker on it that tells you the price which you see after opening it. luxury hotel xcan charge what they like for drinks and snacks at the mini bar, but in my opuinion, this is a bit of a settup. while this complaint might sound petty, i have trouble with this in principle. i dont mind paying for things i agree to, this seems more like a trick.
We loved the intimacy of the room. The hotel was beautiful. We will definitely stay again!!
The only problem is parking. But what can you expect for Manhattan
big room, very comfortable
I shouldn't have to pay a "maintenance fee" if I don't want to use the wifi or fitness center. Definitely reduces the value of the price
The staff are terrific. The hotel is both stylish AND functional. The martini was cold and fast WITH blue cheese olives. The breakfast (offered as compensation for a smaller bed than booked) was fantastic. Espresso was terrific.
The bed was over firm
Great location and great night sleep.
Bed Staff Central location
Fantastic location, comfortable beds and friendly staff. Ian and Brauleo were particularly friendly and helpful.
Lighting in rooms was terrible, could hardly pack my bags. Senior staff members were arrogant.
