Comfortable room, close to Penn Station, very nice personnel, clean room Watch out the price!!!! The hotel is charging you 20 $ per day as a service fee for having a gym and open wifi (I didin't use the gym or the wifi and had to pay the fee... For me this is clearly a way to appear to be cheaper and then charge you an extra 20 $ per day!!!I I felt robbed!!! Please take that into consideration when you do a booking in this hotel!!Also to consider that the room was very noisy. We got a room looking at a wall and with all the a/c machines underneath us, which made quite a lot of noise during the whole night!!!! I wrote a letter to the manager of the hotel and has received not answer... :-(

Location is very good, very closed to main downtown attraction, you almost do not need to use transportation if you want to move around the downtown. Staff are helpful, and easy to approach I stayed over Christmas, the rate was very high compared to just one week after, breakfast expensive & dining area was crowded. Room is very small, same with the bathroom

We enjoyed the hotel very much. It was welcoming from the front doorman, the front desk staff, to Christine(?) in the lounge and our very well kept and comfortable accommodations. Bed and bedding was cozy. Words to describe over all? Trendy "guestination" ! The only change we would request next time we visit is a room with a full bath. We are smaller people and the bathroom in our room was not that accommodating.

The Service Charge was confusing because it did not give specific information on what it covered - I mistakenly thought this was yet another city tax. When I saw that my iPad was connected through WiFi automatically, I called the desk to inquire what the charge was only to discover that it was part of the Service Charge. I told them I had no intention of using WiFi and they removed the $20/day fee - but only for this visit. SInce this is a mandatory fee, I think it would be better if it were simply added to the advertised cost of the room.

The front desk staff - Lisa and Phillips.... they were wery helpful! I am unhappy with their policy whereby a hold of $100/day/room was held on my credit card, totalling $1200 for 2 rooms/6 days and 16 days after checking out, my money is yet to be refunded! It's unacceptable.

Rooms very clean, comfortable beds. Beautiful lobby. Excellent, friendly staff, very gracious, quick to respond and treat you with great respect. We stayed in room 1205. Outside noise was horrible and the room was too hot and unable to turn air down to a comfortable temperature. Most disappointing was that I was quoted a special total rate of $1800.00 but was charged over $2300.00 upon checkout because of all the daily service charges and and taxes. And other than one $6 bottle of water, we did not use or incur charges for any other products. I've stayed at hotels through Booking.com before and the total rate I was quoted is exactly what I paid. This was, in my opinion, quite deceiving and wrong. I'm not sure if the booking company or the hotel is at fault but because of this significant upset, I do not intend to book through this company nor stay at this hotel in the future.

I liked that because we were staying quite a few nights at the Roger they had obviously given us one of the better rooms for our money. This is my thoughts after reading previous reviews of the Hotel on booking.com. I found a lot of the reviews on Booking.com were helpful, but I think some people will find negatives in most things. The mini bar was quite expensive (as usual) but seemed a tad over the top. They did try to charge me $1 a day extra service fee more than I consented to on check-in but when I commented they took it back down.

The staff at Roger Williams couldn't do enough for you, they were excellent. The room was very comfortable and the hotel is in a great location. We found we were easily able to get to both uptown and downtown Manhatten with complete ease. We certainly enjoyed our stay. My only critisism would be that there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but otherwise fully equiped.

The first room was not satisfying, due to bad air and loud airconditioning. The reception was helpful to find a better room with fresh air. The room for the 2nd 3rd and 4th night was good. The rooms had fantastic beds, but small bathroom with relatively spacious shower. Over all it has been fantastic four nights. Charge for Toothpaste, which was however waived after negotiation.

The room was comfortable and clean. We have been charged for having used the toothbrush in the bathroom. At the end, including taxes, we paid 25% more of the room price, which was higher than expected.

The location is fantastic- central to everything and quiet position. The staff were very friendly and helpful. For a revamped Hotel, the "cheap Chic" decor was easy to pick. The rooms are small, but hey, it's nyc, so you should expect that. But, the beds need a revamp. Happy to give up space to have a queen size bed, not a small double. And firm mattress = good nights sleep, so investing in new mattresses would be a smart move. Great Grohe Rainshower though, Amen. Noone spends alot of time in their hotel rooms, so a great sleep is most important.

Design of the hotel, but it is starting to look worn! The air was turned off and not available, only the heat was accessible and the rooms were way too hot and stuffy. We were sweating at nite.

Booked a Superior room, when arriving I was offer an upgrade to two doubles. The staff is very nice. This hotel does not charge a fee to hold your baggages before the check-in and after the check-out, this allow us to walk freely around town before the late flight out. When stepping off the elevator, the hallway is tiny compared to the norm

I liked the decor at the lobby, the friendliness of the staff. The beds and linens are very good and that is very important to me. The location I found great. Also the building looks very nice from outside. I liked the fitness room very much. The machines are good. The rooms and bathroom I found extremely small which I didn´t like since I was with my 30 year old daughter. I didn´t like that there was no tub in the bathroom. I like tubs.

The staff was fantastic, and the location was convenient. It seemed like design was chosen over function when the bathrooms were conceived. Bathroom lights weren't sufficient and the frosted glass door/wall doesn't lend itself to much privacy. In a room like ours, it'd be more suitable for couples than friends.

The staff was extremely courteous, the beds very comfortable and everything was in good working order! There was a little too much emphasis on "upselling" in the room, including snacks/minibar, personal use items and even a bathrobe.

The room was bright, clean and comfortable. The location was excellent. The price was reasonable. I have been raving to my friends about this lovely hotel. $30 for an international adapter is excessive. Placing items such as shaving foam in the bathroom but you then have to pay for them is offputting. I felt that the hotel was trying to make a few extra bucks from a weary traveller who might not appreciate that you had to pay for bathroom "extras" until after they had used them.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The photos on the hotel's website did not at all correspond with how the hotel looks today or the room I had booked. Comparing the way the hotel looked today (apart from the reception area) one got the impression that the photos might have been taken 10-15 years ago - or perhaps even longer, when the hotel had just been renovated. Hallways needed a serious touch up, I mistook the elevator doors for doors to the kitchen until I was told that these were in fact the elevators, rooms were spacious but needed new rugs, the walls a fresh layer of paint as well, and new and more spacious wardrobes. Bathroom seemed to have been renovated more recently but the water pressure from the shower was non- existent. Taking the price for a room into consideration I had expected a more up to date hotel (which is what the website presents) and not something from the early- to mid-nineties. Feeling to have been mislead quite a bit by the pictures from the hotel's website and with the non- existent water pressure in the shower I decided to cancel my reservation for two weeks and check out after only one night.

I loved the location in Murray Hill, the staff were very good, and the value offered was quite fair in my opinion. I am not sure I would take my wife here, but as a place for myself in NY on business or to visit family solo, it was fine. I will recommend it to a friend who visits NY for business on occasion. I did ask for a quiet room, and they accommodated my request.

My room was very comfortable and clean, and felt quite spacious for a NYC hotel room. The staff was very nice. I wished my room had a window, though I appreciated the quiet of an interior room. I also would have liked to see at least one bottle of water for free, or at least have it cost somewhat less than $6
