The Roger  

The staff is extremely accommodating and nice. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and will definitely stay here again. The location is awesome and close to everything! The empire state building, Macy's and time square are all walking distance. The beds are very comfortable and the room is quiet!

I really enjoyed the way I was welcomed with a glass of procesco . The front desk was absolutely wonderful.

As the hotel is undergoing some major renovations , there was only one elevator working. The waits sometimes were as long as 5 minutes. However not a big thing!

Room design. Small rooms but very well put together. Very relaxing feeling. Music was on when entering the room which is always naive touch. Staff very friendly and they offered a glass of wine upon arrival. Location

There where doing some construction at the hotel and only one elevator was available so it could take a while.

I liked everything the hotel, the size, the room, the staff, the location, and the price.

Location is very good, very closed to main downtown attraction, you almost do not need to use transportation if you want to move around the downtown. Staff are helpful, and easy to approach

I stayed over Christmas, the rate was very high compared to just one week after, breakfast expensive & dining area was crowded. Room is very small, same with the bathroom

I have stayed at this hotel many times because of it's location and facililties. I feel very comfortable and safe there and it is convenient to the places I go in the city. It is normally a good value for the money. I like that it is close to "ny attractions" yet somewhat off the beaten path of all the tourists. I especially value the customer service that I receive from all staff members - from the doorman to housekeeping to front desk to lounge staff. In particular, Philip at the front desk recognizes me as a frequent guest and always goes out of the way to make my stay most enjoyable. He should be commended for his professionalism and courtesy.

I would like to be able to access the rooftop terrace, especially in warmer weather - maybe as an outdoor restaurant/bistro, etc.

Small rooms, not enough closet space, dated design.

I liked that because we were staying quite a few nights at the Roger they had obviously given us one of the better rooms for our money. This is my thoughts after reading previous reviews of the Hotel on booking.com. I found a lot of the reviews on Booking.com were helpful, but I think some people will find negatives in most things.

The mini bar was quite expensive (as usual) but seemed a tad over the top. They did try to charge me $1 a day extra service fee more than I consented to on check-in but when I commented they took it back down.

Location was excellent, service was very good, rooms were comfortable.

The staff was amazing! And the penthouse was beautiful!

Its location and cleaniness were great. The staff were very friendly and for the purpose of our trip, city break with my daughters, it was great.

The Hotel didnt explain that they not only hold a deposit of $100 dollars per night per room on arrival, but they also put a hold on the actual cost of your rooms, therefore the deducted 2 x $1104 dollars on my arrival. Not just the cost of my stay but double. The effect on this trnsacation led my credit card company to stop my card, as they suspected fraud, two large transactions coming out with in a minute. This was bad enough but when I went to pay for my Christmas shopping at Macy's, I was asked to contact my Card Company and could only do this when I returned back to my hotel. Never got a chance to buy the items again, it ruined my break, embarrassed me infront my choldren and despite having ample credit on my card, because of the Hotels greed in taking my Hotel costs for my stay, and then doing this a second time without communicating this to me, I was left feeling very bitter about the Roger Williams Hotel experience.
