Great location, great views, great staff at the bar. Spacious rooms.
The location and staff were extremely good and very helpful. The look of the hotel itself was very nice from the outside but the room I had needed updating. overall I was fairly satisfied with my stay.
The rooms age internally.
Staff, location and hotel are excellent. Highly recommended!
The hotel is right on the ocean. We enjoyed sitting by the pool or the bar and watching spinner dolphins' acrobatics. The grounds are very well maintained, and it is a pleasant atmosphere. They also have a great luau show at the hotel, and we were entertained by the music, even when we did not attend. There are good restaurants nearby, and it was a great base from which to explore the area.
They do not have free WiFi in the rooms. I find this extremely annoying in this day and age. As a result, I never ate at the hotel, but went to, and spent my money, at other places that did have free WiFi.
- right on the ocean -near all shops and bars -amazing views -friendly knowledgable, helpful staff -amazing open plan reception/seating area/bar restaurant
If I had to be picky the rooms are a little bit dated but they are very clean and well maintained so please don't let this put you off. The location and views from the balcony more than make up for it!!!!
Nice bar Good food Quite Beautiful ocean view
Spectacular location and setting. Our room was huge and that was so nice to be able to spread out without having to walk around luggage, etc.
Getting a little "dated." Need some renovations soon.
Location of hotel and bathroom soap and shampoo amenities
Fixtures need upgrade and maintenance. Beds should be replaced.
Stay at this hotel only if you want to have a nice view and sleep by the ocean...
... Other than the above, this place is old, with very poor facilities, and very poor quality standards in all other domains. I left early...
Location and view
Having to go home
The view and location were great
Building is too old. It's not even retro / vintage. When I phoned the front desk for earplugs due to the bar band next door I was told not available. I requested a room change and was given a room with 1 queen bed and I had to request a "roll a way"
My room was awesome with an amazing view. I sat on my balcony and took photos of an amazing sunset and the beautiful Kona skyline at dusk. The staff were friendly and courteous.
The Location The Value Ocean Front Room Size of room
Have to drive to an actual sand beach
Loved the location, the pool area and the view of the ocean. The price is great! I would definitely stay here again!
Oceanside bar, ambience of main building, location in Kona, appetizers
Cheap mattress, dated decor in room and tower
I liked how the staff throughout the hotel were helpful and friendly. I liked how the staff were prepared to take the time to listen and assist and they also showed a genuine interest in us and where we came from.
I used a cashpassport prepaid credit card and when using this in the restaurants/facilities in the Resort, even though all costs were paid in full upon departure, 2 weeks after my return home these costs are still pending on my credit card meaning I do not have access to this money.
AC worked fine inroom and it was really necessary because it was very hot in kailua.
Location Pool scenery
installations old & weathered ants near juice fountain at breakfast buffet NO free WIFI!!!! $10 per phone, iPad etc TOO EXPENSIVE!!!!
This resort hotel is conveniently located to stores, restaurants, tour facilities, plus it has an extraordinary seaside vista
Maintenance is slipping. Exterior paint is overdue in some areas, and all-weather carpeting is due for cleaning unexposed areas. A spruce-up would get this facility into a top rating. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Central location. Bed was comfortable.
Rooms are old bedding outdated parking slim great party bar on beach close to everything
Excellent Customer Service Great Bar
Chargeable WiFi Free WiFi (Hot Spot) in bar; which never worked in 3 days Expensive On the Beach but no facility to enjoy swimming/recreation
Old sliding glass door's
Helpful front desk, managed to check us in early so we could make the most of our short 2 day stay. Clean, spacious room. Drinks & nibbles at the bar were lovely, helped by the lovely views. Easy to park, costs $10 a day. If you need to check in for your flight, there is a computer linked to airlines at the front reception.
Lift #6 or #7 needs some cosmetic work. Wifi charges. You have to book through the tv in the room, and it's $10 a day (also rates for longer stays).
