Very good,

“ We had a free upgrade as we were early for check-in and they were more than happy to oblige us. We loved the surrounding gardens, beach walks, beach access, free trolley transport to Whalers Villiage, coffee maker in the room, still in cinema, films avail for $16-99 which was good. We were very sad to leave. ”

staff friendly and helpful, overall ambiance, location, proximity to beach we loved being in ocean cottage, very close to beach. but, the rooms had window units. temp at night gets down to 70/high 60s, so you don't need them at night, but our neighbors often instinctively turned them on and that drowned out fantastic surf sound we preferred to sleep by. RL should put unmoveable note in top of window units: night temp here means most folks don't need this, but turn it on after 10 pm if you must. trust us: sleeping to sound of surf is wonderful!

Had a great time and relaxed. Very good staff and food was great. Best luau every. Slow internet, No lite path to and from hot tub at night. No hotel transportation to Lahana, had to catch a free transaction to whaler village and then bus or paid $$ for a taxi.

The room was beautiful The front desk worker that I spoke with at first was very pre occupied and cold. And my friend had a pair of slippers stolen outside our hotel room when there was a sign that even requested that shoes be taken off outside.

The beach is beautiful and easily accessible. The restauarant and pool bar were great. The staff was very friendly. Love the grassy area between the rooms and the beach. We had a wonderful patio with an ocean view and were just a few feet from the beach. We were celebrating our anniversary and they gave us 2 double beds - the beds were horribly uncomfortable and the linens were of very poor/thin quality. We wished they had a hot tub at one of the pools but neither did. There were ants in the bathroom. No overhead light and both bulbs in both lamps were burned out.

The room was clean and spacious and the location was great for beach and other activities. We had breakfast there one morning and chose the buffet not realizing that it was $21 per person. We are not big eaters so this was hugely overprised compared to anywhere we had ever stayed. Unfortunately we had to pay an extra $300 as they couldn't find our booking when we checked in. Eventually they located it but we weren't able to have the cottage that we were promised so had to stay in the hotel. Our room on the 5th floor was above the air conditioning unit and it was very noisy.

After being saved from the cottage, we had a new room on 3rd floor. The staff was excellent. The location was good The parking situatiion is so bad that we will not return. The worst we have seen - anywhere plus $10 charge with a space big enough for a child's hot wheel The cottage should be destroyed. Totally unhearlthy with mildew and a century of embedded dirt.

Great location and friendly staff. The beds were comfortable, but I hit my shins on the platform part. Plenty of hot water, available balcony. Carpet in the room was dirty and stained. Mold in the shower. No place to hang a towel near the sink. Very limited seating in the lobby but there was definitely room. No one wiped down lounge chairs after it rained. There was almost no information in the rooms about the facility, the location of ice, activities, the luau, the restaurant, etc. Waiting for a table in the restaurant was sometimes long when there were tables available. I didn't mind that the facility was older, but that is no excuse for not being clean.

Loved location. On best beach in Maui . Near other hotels and walking distance to shopping and dinning. Resort has best Luau Maui . Great resort dining manager who really cares . Awesome buffet breakfast , great value . Resort is also near rental car options if you didn't rent one at the airport. Room was always cleaned daily and had a great view. The pool was awesome and never over crowded, always had lawn chairs available . Snorkel rentals cost a little too much.

The location is in the popular area of kanaapali - the grounds and the beach is Great - there is a complimentary shuttle bus that takes you to the whalers village where there are shops restaurants and bars - if you like ice cream you must try Yogurt land it is fab. Our room was on the garden side of the tower and the views were lovely - You can watch the sunset from your balcony . I would recommend this hotel for Location and price for this area - have been to this hotel before and the rooms have Been upgraded a couple of years ago - what a difference. When we were told by the reception staff to ask the bell boy to take our luggage To our room - we approached a young Hawaiian bell boy - I was quite taken Aback when he told us there was a charge - we asked him the cost and he replied 2 dollars - this young man spoilt it for himself as my husband had 5 dollars in his top Pocket for him for his service - but because he told us there was a charge we gave Him the 2 dollars - what this young man does not know - we have travelled all Over the world and know that you have to tip them for their service - if the hotel reads This comment to their bell boy staff - he knows who he is - other bell men also Witnessed his approach to us - despite this happening would still recommend .

I mostly liked the evenings with real Hawaiian music and dance. I told others to come and enjoy it. Of the 5 nights there, we spent 3 eating and listening to the music each night. I will tell others to stay for that reason alone. Kapule was wonderful!!! We could tell a woman didn't figure in the design. Putting make-up on was a real chore ... lighting made me look even older than I am!! Hard to do.

The hotel is really good, clean, comfortable, in a good position (seaside), and cheap comparing to the ones around. This hotel don't offer a shuttle. The hotel is quite far from the hotel, like all hotels in that area. 100$ by taxi or 55$ by shuttle.

Only downfall would be no dining options if you get up a bit late. We got ready by 10am but the cafe downstairs stopped breakfast at 10am and didn't serve lunch until later in the afternoon. We had to drive to the next hotel over to get their cafe. Also the bartender gentleman at the pool bar was handling garbage and ignored a few guests who were waiting for drinks. Not even an acknowledgement.

The Beach... - There aren't any possibilities (sports, beach lounger, sunshades,...) at the beach. Only with a new and high purchase. - Everything what you can think about, was additionally charged up. - In the hotelvideo they presents themself as one of the most friendliest hotel and that friendliness is a very important item for the management. But in over one week we never met any friendly person. Neither at the bar, restaurant or at the reception!
