Driving home for Thanksgiving weekend and picked Royal Motor in on line for a one night stay over. SO glad I di. I got in late (10pm). Staff was fantastic and helpful. Room I had was clean and warm upon arriving. I was also lucky enough to get a sleep number bed in my room. This is the place anytime I am making this trip.

They had the sleep number bed and I now know,I do not ever want one Thin walls,lots of street noise,very dated room,door didn't shut completely,letting noise in.I Would not stay there again,even for free.

Inexpensive and good value for the money. The hotel is older but the current owners work hard to keep it maintained well and clean. They have put microwaves and refrigerators in the rooms and the a/c units are well-maintained despite being old. The staff is friendly and they appear to take pride in the place. Located just off the Interstate in the small town of La Grande, the Royal is a quiet, inexpensive, no- frills stopover. The parking lot is small so that when the hotel is full, parking is a problem. The 'sleep number' bed was not working right - the right side was flabby and deflated and the left side was firm, although both sides were set to 40.

It was clean and the beds were comfortable. The room could have used some TLC.The lamp shade was broken, there was a break in the wall above the tub/showeer, the carpet was in need of a good cleaning and the fan in the shower area was so noisy that we couldn't use it.

Good location - close to restaurants. Room was of a good size and generally clean. Shower curtains needed a good clean, beds not comfortable, some maintenance needed in rooms and building, towels were of poor quality. When booking it stated that breakfast was included. There was only coffee and packeted long life muffins at breakfast - I don't consider this providing breakfast.

The room was clean, the bed comfortably. That there was no coffee maker in room. It was a very cold walk in the early morning to get a small cup of coffee in the office. My room was at the very far end of the building.

The check in lady was very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable. The price was very good. The facility needs a facelift, paint and new curtains would go a long way. Some of the ceiling in bathroom suffered from moisture and was stained and pieces missing. Rooms are very small, not good for a family. Very minimum in amenities.
