Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good location - close to subway, close to all amenities, close to Central Park. Minutes away from everything. 10 minutes subway ride to downtown. I would recommend it.

I could not open the window. I had one window which had an AC in it. The room had a bit of a burnt wood smell on the first day, but the rest of my stay I did not smell anything else.

Small room and bathroom. Had to open shower door inable to use the WC! No drinking glass in the room. Had to ask the main desk for a plastic cup.

The staff are friendly and the location is convenient. Good for travelers with tight budget.

There is a smell of old building in our room. You can not get rid of it even you open the window all the time. No cup in the bathroom.

Our room was basically in the lobby, so we heard everyone not only entering the building but talking outside our window. Would have been nice to choose an upper-floor room.

The customer service was excellent. The staff was really nice and always very helpful.

The bathrooms were extremely small. However, that may be something one has to deal with while staying in New York.

Good beds, clean toilets, good shower, really nice staff, 5 min from the 96th st. subway station.

We expected a room a little bigger based on the pictures and the fact it was a room with 2 double beds.

Location is excellent if you need a hotel for the bed and the shower. There was a problem with the booking, but the hotelmanagement arranged it on a very comfortable way (thank you, Denise!)

Airco is not sufficiënt for summer (but OK for april-may). Shared bathroom is clean, but we would like some more facilities.

Location a block away from Metro. Parking although expensive available next door.

Hallway smelled not very fresh. Ours had a long sheet covering "something". Toilet clogged and our tv did not work.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating and seemed to be genuinely interested in customers. I would also like to add another words describing this hotel: versatility.

I think I saw a flea in my room, which freaked me out.

The staff were very nice and not snooty, as we expected New York staff to be. The rooms were small but adequate, the price was good for New York. The location was very pleasant, not too busy and relatively close to museums, subway, buses. We would stay again.

The shared "breakfast room" with fridge and microwave was like a dungeon.

I didn't like the noise in the bedroom... It came from the walls. The TV didn't work.

This hotel is in an excellent location, it has Cable TV and WiFi. The staff made the best of a poor hostel. Most of the hotel was clean apart from the shared bathrooms.

It's in a really old building. Our room was really small and bare, the TV was from the 80's. There wasn't even a hook to hang a coat. The elevator may as well not exist, It's very slow.

When we finally got the room we actually booked, it was beautiful. Quiet at night and relaxed surroundings, despite being on Manhattan. Good location, great subway stop with the BC-train olty takes 10 minutes to get to the village. Inexpensive, good value for money, no frills but basic needs are met.

We booked a private bathroom, but on arrival this room turned out to be unavailable for the first night. The excuse lacked some credibility, the staff showed no sincere regret, and the compensation($20, only the difference between the two rooms) was minimal for such an important mistake. The shared showers were badly designed so taht there was water everywhere. The private shower had no hot water the morning of our departure.
