The staff was friendly and accommodating, the location in the Upper West Side is outstanding - a block and a half from the 96th St. station.
Lack of a sink in the room meant simple brushing of teeth, washing of face, or drinking of water was complicated.
Location, nice staff
Old building, very small room
Location near subway was great.
Shared bathroom for the whole floor. No heat in the room.
nothing at all
Very poorly attended, at night screaming, shouting and slamming doors that make it impossible to sleep. after my protests someone started knocking heavily on my door, feared for my safety I thought about calling the police. the day after requested room change but the situation did not getted better. given the very low level of service the price has been unacceptably high. very bad experience in new York, heavily unsuggested!!! PS baggage deposit by charge the last day as final present...
- excellent location, close to subway station, many possibilities to eat and drink - room was clean, towels changed everyday - staff was friendly and willing to solve any technical problem
- room too small, no space to put things, hardly to move around the bed - shower was ok, but other amenities were poor (no chair, no table, no mirror in bathroom) - intensive noise from the courtyard probably caused by concentration of hundreds of airconditioners, airconditioner in our room made an unbearable noise so we did not use it at all, no possibility to close fully the window
The front room. So great
It all depends on what you want or need, staff is friendly and is a block away from line 1 sub.
Not as clean, wifi falls a lot and no private bathrooms
clesnliness. Oversharing of toilets. Large groups next door to single travelers. Old worn out interior spaces. More "security" than a "reception"
The wifi reception was ok and it is located close to the subway
Everything The rooms are filthy The staff are awful Do not ever stay here
Location not bad, close to subway. Took us 20 mins to get to the centre. Staff was helpful.
We booked private bathroom and there were no rooms with private bathroom available. We stayed in room with shared bathroom and got discount. There were building works happening in the room next to us. We were not impressed after long flight and no sleep for 24 hours. After we moved to a different room second night we had a cocroach in our bathroom. There are no dishes and mugs in the kitchen. Only microwave available.
It is located on the upper west side. Just a few blocks from Central Park and an easy walk to the subway and buses. Also a lot of options for affordable dining. The room was clean, the water was hot and the bed was comfortable.
Staff did not have much information about attractions or things to do.
Once you were in your room they were clean, tidy and nice comfortable beds.
Everybody at the check in desk seemed to be given a separate excuse for why their bedroom was not ready, this resulted in us having to change rooms and not have an en-suite for the first night which was disappointing. All we got was the $30 difference in room price refunded. Rather annoying seeing as though we reserved this room 8 months in advance.
The staff was great, except for towel coverage, the place was run down but for the price it was good. We ended up having to stay another night and the staff was very accommodating.
Seen a couple of small roaches, but the staff took care of it right away.
bedding poor but clean room smelly restroom shared with other room occupants
Frank is very helpful and kind we found him a pleasure to deal with.
The carpets were being replaced on the floor directly above ours. We were tired from travelling and could not sleep during the day as the banging and noise were extremely bad. This was very frustrating. The room was smaller than expected but very clean.
noise, shared bathroom (just 2 for 10 rooms)
I like the bathroom decor.
There's two bed in the room where you could just have one bed and have plenty of space.
only 2bed...nothing else.so its not a hotel.just a hostel.stuff is kinda nice.very near from station.
It was close to public transport, restaurants , shops etc.
Location is great, just 3 stops on the express line 2 to times square and the subway is a 2min walk from the hotel. Very nice beds and clean rooms.
Could do with a bigger and uldated bathroom.
The room was so small. The elevator was so old and slow. The key of the room was unsafe. The room's door even does not have a handle. The sheets were dirty. There was no shampoo in the bathroom.
We paid for one night [for a room with bath] at the time of booking. On arrival at the hotel, we were told that our room was under repair, that we could have a room without bath for the night, and be assigned one with bath for the following night. Reluctantly, we accepted, and agreed to take it and be refunded the difference in price. The following day we went sightseeing and returned around 5 pm to a new room. The bed was like a marshmallow [very soft and sagging mattress]. We asked for another room, and was told that one was not available. So we asked for another mattress, and were told that one would be provided while we went out for dinner. After dinner, on our return, we were told that another mattress had been placed on the bed. On inspection, this was not true; nothing had been changed. We asked that it be done soon so we could go to bed. After an hour, nothing had been done, so we packed up and walked out. We reported this to Booking.com, who have tried to obtain our refund from the first night. However, we have not yet received the refund. In addition, the public spaces [halls, lobby, entrance] were filthy. DO NOT STAY HERE!
small and uncomfortable bed,bad wifi, first day we came they put us in bunk bed room, even we made a reservation and paid for king size bed, room is about 2x3m,not enough space for couple and 2 luggage...wouldn't recomend...
They had a problem with some rooms, including our reservation, and we were moved to another hotel which name is Marrakech Hotel. We enjoyed our stay, was excellent, clean and comfortable.
Updated room, new bathroom, ceiling fan, air conditioner, friendly and helpful front desk staff, location. Great that it had wifi for free. We would stay there again.
Needs new carpet, expect an older building with a slow, small elevator. Don't expect lots of amenities...it is pretty much a decent place to sleep and bathe. You have to ask for towels at the front desk.
