During check-in, date error pop-up, our accommodation date was moved one day further. However it was solved eventually.
The great location in the heart of Manhattan, next to subway station, great Pizzeria and Liqueur store.
The person at the front desk kept telling my boyfriend and I there is no smoking or drinking allowed and we don't do any of the above and I woke up to the housekeepers talking loud to eachother at 8 in the morning and checkout wasn't until 11.
if I had to say what I liked the most its the bed that's it !
rooms bit shabby - but tolerable computers downstairs remember when steve jobs and bill gates worked together
great location - 2min to subway friendly staff clean sheets and towels generally non-problematic place
The bath tun got clogged witn water and when there waa a lady crying out for help we thought there was somerhing bad happening
Sometime we had to wait for the showers in the corridor, when they were occupied by other guests.
A very good hotel for that price and close to express subway station, only 2 stations to Times Square! The location is good, close to 3 big supermarkets and the Riverside Park.
Slow wifi, price too expensive, and noise from pipes of heater causing disturbance at night.
Near the Subway at 96St
Room ridiculous hot. Air conditioning was not working but we solved the problem by keeping the window opened. Most staff were nice but some weren't (the typical New Yorker bad mood that looks like we were making a favor by staying in the hotel.
The shared bathrooms were clean and the woman who was cleaning the floor was lovely and really nice. The room was clean. This is an EXCELLENT option in NY city based on price-place-location (I already stayed in more than 10 hotels in NY)
Wake up little early for the rest room and get in line!!! Needs little more attention to the cleanse of the bathroom
On upper west side of Manhattan next to the subway station and about 30 min walk from downtown for the price it's ok
I like it because when I requested for a private bathroom in the booking they gave it to me :)
Pretty worn off. My door did not even have a handle ;D Upon arrival had to ask to replace my bed cover which was quite dirty. My room was next to the stairs and there was always someone talking or laughing, not the best for sleeping.
Right next to the 96th street subway, literally 2 min walk. Lots of supermarkets and cafes in the area. 15 mins walk to Central Park. Staff was very friendly.
Being told not to unpack as we would have to move rooms the next day.
Shower was OK.
Wifi doesn't work half of the time. Occasionally see bugs crawling around.
Noisy pipes. I think we saw bedbugs in the shared bathrooms. Small room.
Good location near the metro
I don't know what the other rooms are like but our room was tiny. The bathroom was probably not even 2 metres long, you could sit on the toilet and put your feet in the shower! the shower was really tiny and was either boiling or freezing. We were the room right next to the stairwell and it was so noisy with people coming in and out up the stairs all night.
The location was brilliant. Literally 2 minutes from subway which is 2 stops from time square. 24hour shop round corner. Rooms are clean, bed is comfy. Brilliant value for money. Perfect for young people who just want to experience the night life or only stay a couple of days
There was an annoying pipe in the corner of our room (23g) which when heating up was very noisy.
Only one street away from a major subway stop (96 street). The market shop next door has everything you need for food and drink. Good storage space. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good value.
I had to share a bathroom, but for the price it didn't bother me at all!
Great price and great location close to trains
So really, the bathrooms are the worst part--but really, what can you expect from a common bathroom at a hostel? I used several bathrooms on several different floors. Some were cleaner than others, some looked newer, some had better shower heads. Some were pretty decent, and some were a little more iffy. However, I saw no mold or bugs, so I was fine.
The price was great--much cheaper than even the cheapest hotel would have been. The location was very convenient--one block form a subway, many little restaurants to eat at, a marketplace to get fresh groceries and some toiletries, and other convenience stores and drug stores nearby. The room (double shared) was plenty big enough for 2 people and had 2 closets, which was nice.
Was very close to one of the non-private bathrooms and sound from people using it travelled into my room.
The location was fantastic. Very close to 96th street subway stop, me and my friends used this frequently.
Noisy neighbours (we didn't tell staff so perhaps not applicable here), very small room (big enough only for a bed and two cases stood up), the bathroom wasn't very clean
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location (3 mins to subway), rooms were kept clean and linen/ towels changed
Some bugs in the bathroom but seen worse before
The reviews of many made us expect the worst but it was a decent place. The rooms and bathrooms on floor 5 were nice, yes there only 2 bathrooms per floor but that's a hostel (if you want more stay in a hotel). The staff were nice and location is on the express line to lower manhattan.
The beds were a slight challenge with the sheets staying in at night, but that didn't hinder anything!
The staff was friendly and the hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and a lovely place to head back to at night.
The showers were some times cold and wouldn't warm up
Just small from what you normally think of for a hotel. No microwave or fridge which would've been nice. Also having shared bathrooms with more than one stall would've been helpful since the whole floor shared 2 bathrooms.
The location was absolutely perfect, right next to main subway terminal. Beds were comfy. Warm place to sleep. Small, but great value for what you pay.
