It was convenient to get to from Newport. They have a shuttle that takes you into Newport.
They put 2 holds my credit card and when I brought it to their attention they said there wasn't anything they could do if need to wait to speak to someone at the credit card company. There are no elevators in the hotel, so if you have a lot of luggage it makes it a bit difficult.
Old room. No furniture one side table for two beds, we had to put stuff on floor. Rug bad inside and out of room. Breakfast area uncomfortable.
Nice to have shuttle service to downtown Newport and convenient to have a bar/restaurant located in the hotel
The room smelled musty and was dated. Nothing special about this hotel
Excellent location. Clean and staff were very helpful & friendly. Very quiet room.
Dated decor & facilities. Pillows werer extremely uncomfortable (more like hard cushions).
Some of the amenities, TV's, furniture, were outdated. It would have been nice to have a picture or two on the walls in the room. But the overall experience, comfort, convenience, customer service and price was great.
Reservation said refrig. no refrig in room! when questioned was told "oh, you have to request that we don't have one for every room, we would have to take out of room somewhere else and put in yours!" What? I had things that needed to be refrigerated, had to use ice bucket!! Then, the beverage machine didn't work on second floor told desk never fixed had to go downstairs for drinks. Not very friendly at desk, was like you were bothering them. will never stay or recommend ramada, going back to BEST WESTERN!
The Staff were young, courteous and very helpful. The room was spacious and clean and at a very affordable rate. The continental breakfast was excellent.
The entrance trash bin were overflowing. I brought it to their attention. The entrance carpeting - inside - especially the stairs, should be vacuumed more often to keep it clean always. First impressions are important.
Liked size of room. Clean.
No pool. Quality of the beds.
nice location. bathroom was very large and very clean. the rooms were just the right size fir what we needed. the staff was great and the dinning room food was very good. Overall a great place to stay for the money.
no pool and the beds seemed a little short.
Friendly and helpful staff from check in Aug.19 to Aug.21 checkout...Will always book and stay here when going to Newport......
Great price for accommodations and very close to downtown Newport. Room was clean and beds comfortable.
Offer healthier choices for complimentary breakfast.
Good Bed, Good TV, Good WIFI, Good Towels
Shabby rooms, No Elevator, Room not made up until very late in the day, Only one place to get ice and snacks and very far away, Huge stains on Ceiling - just in dire need of renovation.
The online booking stated that the hotel had a pool/spa. This was totally incorrect. When we asked the front desk staff about its location after dinner one night we were told we could go to a "sister property" a couple of miles away to use their pool. Since it was already 9:00 pm, we didn't go. When we asked about it the next morning the front desk staff said there was no such arrangement. He eventually gave us the name of the other hotel and told us to "try our luck." Needless to say, we checked out and stayed at another hotel the next night.
Nice, comfortable beds. Continental breakfast, wifi easy to acess. Value for your money for a hotel of this class. It was pretty close to the mansions, cliff walk, etc. Would recommend to friends.
There is no elevator. If you sleep on the first floor you are right by the parking lot. I would suggest going to the second floor if you are ok with a flight of steps.
Portifino's Pub menu - very delicious not like other pubs. Also, short disatance to Newport beaches.
Door keyard not working almost every time I tried to open Jacuzzi too high for stepping into shower (safety issue) - who needs Jacuzzi???
The staff were super friendly. We arrived on Sun. & got room upgrade. That made a huge difference. We stayed 6 nights. So having a suite was really nice. The shuttle service to Newport was great. One tip for shuttle, be on the spot. Leaving one person to hold a space does not work.
There was a pull out sofa in the suite that had seen better days, a long time ago. We did not sit on it. It was that bad. It needs to be thrown out. The shuttle gets busy Fri. & Sat.
The bed was excellent ! It had a rerrific shower.
The bathrooms need to be remodeled. Take the big tub out ! The hotel needs an elevator. It's a must !
Very comfortable - decent restaurant and bar (early closing, though). By Newport standards the Booking.com price was terrific. The shuttle to Newport was most helpful. Typical American paper plates and bagels breakfast, but a reasonable range of stuff and a sizeable room, not a crowded lobby.
I had anticipated (as so often) being in a town, but once again the hotel was on a through route, with nowhere to walk to - the shuttle bus a great help. One or two details, like a leaky shower, but nothing important.
Good central location for day trips to Mystic, CT; Hyannis Ferries; New Bedford; Newport.
Wi-Fi was a bit restrictive. It was temperamental and limited bandwidth. I finally gave up and just used my cell phone mobile hotspot option.
We loved the big bed
The little Jacuzzi.
Staff at desk tried to charge us more than price booked with booking.com, not pleasant about it. No lift. Dated rooms with tiny old TVs. Door couldn't be locked. Bathroom light was missing cover ( bulb exposed) and ventilation was as noisy as a helicopter. Uncomfortable beds. Awful breakfast in a dirty conference room. Wifi working on and off.
I liked the location and the price for the 2 days that we stayed there. Did some shopping in Middletown but mainly shopped and ate in Newport, but hotels in Newport were too pricey for a 2 day stay.
It needs an update, for rooms and also the breakfast buffet
Nothing, its a lousy hotel for money
