Reception staff very friendly and helpful.
Front door security very intimidating almost thuggish.
Sad that we didn't have the chance to try the hotel bar or Resto. Otherwise 10/10
no free wifi as the saying was to loud they asking more what the hotel deserve
I stayed at the royalton the first night it opened..Morgans was booked and they called Steve rubella who opened up an extra soft opening room for me and greeted me and tooke through The place has no charm left, no grace. No gym no 24 hr room service
See above It's a midtown tourist 3 star hotel ....nothing more or less No reason to book there again
Very polite desk staff, great location,
Concierge completely ignored us but immediately spoke to older guests.
The room was quiet and dark. It was also big, and the bed and linen was good.
it was a big hotel in a big city. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. but one couldn't quite get away from the big hotel feel.
We like the courteous staff. Very helpful. The hotel is also in very good location I felt. Easy walk to Times Square , Central Park , and the Empire State Building. Subway stop just a block away from the 43st entrance of the hotel. Definately stay again when visiting.
Bathroom door sticky. Only had one day of free wifi, stayed two days.
LOVED everything about the room...the shower was great, the bed was really comfortable and the room had ample space to relax and unwind. The location was exceptional and the staff were very helpful.
The lobby and bar area were too dark.
Clay the Concierge very helpful as usual, particularly like the 'Simon' game on his desk, you should make this a regular addition. Door men very helpful, especially John, he is a great asset to your hotel
Sometimes difficult to get a place in the lounge bar area, tables are always reserved, such a shame as this is our favourite place to hang out and take a cocktail after a hard days shopping. As residents I would have thought we would get priority, or at least some seats reserved for us?
Now this is NYC and we did not expect sunlight streaming through the accommodation, however well placed lightbulbs with appropriate wattage would have been nice. In addition the blue grey color scheme of the rooms only accentuates the dark and gloomy feeling that overcomes you when you enter your home away from home. The first room we stayed in was equipped with an extremely loud air conditioning unit that made sleeping more of a wish than a realty. Also, the bathroom had no surface space to place any toiletries. It forced me to store my washbag on the floor! However, the "clever" interior designer allowed for a tacky conically shaped flower vase and a candle stick to be placed on the miniscule washing table. However, the incredibly friendly front desk staff saved the day by moving us into a more spacious and much quieter room. Luckily one was available! BTW the make-up mirror was unfortunately unfit for the job in both rooms - much to dark. Thus make-up application is a hit and miss ☺. Overall, we liked the friendly staff and the location. But for 500$ a night - mid week rate - I will not go back.
friendly, helpful and caring staff. great and spacious rooms. clean bathroom. comfortable bed. great bar.
Great location, staff was very helpful.
Everything was rather dark, which felt like I was in a seedy motel. the "free" breakfast is NOT free. They tried to charge us $50 for some fruit and a muffin.
Room service not available until 7.00am Charge for wifi
Very central for subway access making it very easy travel to around all of nyc. Walking distance to many venues and taxi fares reasonable as you are central should you need to grab one. 5 minute walk to Bryant park and plenty of eating options available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I can only comment on construction work during the night going on nearby, nothing to do with the hotel but you couldnt sleep and it didnt stop until 5am. There is a lot of construction in Times square so any hotel in that area will be affected.
if this is a 4 1/2 Star Hotel then The Peninsula, Four Seasons, Waldorf Astoria and Mandaran Oriental are 24 1/2 Hotels and the Marriott Marquis is 14 1/2 rated hotel. Lobby was very dark and noisy the bathroom was the darkest bathroom that i have ever seen nearly impossible for men to shave and women to put on makeup and the recessed bed while very impressive as a design made it difficult to get out of bed. Who ever designed all of this should be fired
Great location funky design
Large well appointed room, awesome bed, great shower. Beautiful, lively lobby bar with great service.
Not one complaint.
Cool jazzy atmosphere of the lobby Location
Tiny elevators and hallways (not for claustrophobic people!!!) Our room on 14th floor had no view.
The size of the suite was considerable compared to many NYC hotels. The staff was extremely professional and attentive.
The bed was my only major concern, and the ingress and egress to the shower. If you like a firm bed then you will enjoy. My only complaint was that the bed was too firm for my taste which made for an uncomfortable awaking with back pains. The accessibility to enter and exit the shower was a concern because I had to climb in and out of the tub to access the shower. I understand that the shower issue is only related to the suite. But by no means will this stop me from staying at this hotel as the goo certainly out weighed the bad.
Wonderful location that is near Grand Central station...hotel is charming, rooms a comfortable and a real hot spot for the cocktail circuit.
The front desk staff need to engage in a friendlier manner with guests (cliche NYC attitudes are passé).
- top location - very nice bathroom (applies to super deluxe room) - room size
- should be hip but for me absolutely too dark (could hardly see something upon arrival) - missing written guest information - club lounge closes too early - wardrobe size - large bed booked was only a queensize bed
Bed and other items really good.
Air condition noise was terrible.
Rooms are not nice, Even poore for five stars hotel
Location, friendly staff, the room was large! Location is few minutes walk from times square, grand central and city bus terminal. And short walk to central park
The lobby is more like a bar than a 5 star hotel, you have to speak loudly to communicate with front desk
everything, especially brilliant cocktails in the bar downstairs
well I actually liked it, but you should be aware it is place for candles and fireplaces - somewhat dark most of the time. Grey walls, may not be pleasant for some.
