Facilities getting old Staff unfriendly and not attentive Door and security staff with an attitude Bar used to be a hot spot, now empty and boring
Huge circular bathtub, ultra comfy bed and excellent location.
Rooms were quite dark with low level lighting in many parts. This is part of the design of the hotel though.
The styling is nice!
The lobby bar here is a must - it's buzzing through happy hour with great music and cocktails. And the people watching is fabulous. Put this on your list of places to visit and enjoy.
Staff is helpful, rooms very comfortable. Young lobby crowd, good bar service.
Only drawback for us is the restaurant does not have full breakfast on weekends and weekday room service is done in paper and plastic takeout containers -- hotel deserves better.
room, bathroom, location
dark at reception. staff lacking in experience
We went to NYC for my wife's birthday. The front desk sent us a complimentary bottle of champagne.Great friendly staff, good value for the money and clean rooms
Could not close the window...the frame was broken
Location, lift suite, bathtub, staff was friendly and helpful
Location Staff Fire place in the room
No free WiFi in the room No fitness facilities No coffee/tee in the room
Location was good for a starting point for all kinds of activities in NYC. Price was good for NYC.
Bed mattress was terrible-very stiff. Hotel needs to invest in replacing. Good location-but also a very busy street. Street noise was definitely loud.
Alcove suite - worth the extra, nice fire place.. roomy, lovely bath tub !
the hall way looks like a prison :), nice lobby though.
I like the overall look of the hotel. Check-In was a breeze. And I must commend the Front Desk on how they deal with the club like noise in the lobby. Kudos!!
The Loud Music in the Lobby. Needs Adjustment on the volume.
Staff will try to accommodate requests and often exceed expectations.
Better in-hotel restaurant menu/food would be nice.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
The new decor and lack of amenities in the room. Seems to be geared more towards the businessman. Dim lighting in bathroom and no mirrors in the room.
room is extremely small!!!!
the location was wonderful for Broadway.
Too noisy when you enter the restaurant. Up in the hotel room, noise is not a factor. a better place for people with earplugs!
No brake fast room service. Stuff delivered in bags. Shower is in large tub
Free upgrade to a Deluxe room after emailing the hotel, complimentary Prosecco, amazing shower, massive comfy bed, lots of space, room with a view of the street, location really close to Times Square, the lobby bar is really cosy too, staff were really friendly.
No tea/ coffee machine. Wish we'd arranged a room with a bath tub instead of the street view.
Our check in was seamless and quick, and we were also given a complimentary upgrade to a King Suite. This was all much appreciated after a day full of flight delays!! There was music playing and lots of people in the lobby / bar on our arrival - we loved this, as it felt like we had chosen a hotel that was interesting and a trendy place to be (although I can imagine this would not be the case for everyone). Facilities were great - room was large, good shower, and comfortable bed. Fabulous location - reasonable cab fare from LaGuardia Airport, a couple of blocks from Times Square, and walking distance to Chelsea and other areas of Manhattan.
The room was very clean, except for a scatter of bobby pins (hair grips) that were on the floor of the bathroom and bedroom.
The lobby area is cool and looks good, but it's outdated. The pictures make it look far nicer than it was!
Staff were unfriendly on checkout, we were actually quite pollite considering. Room was small and dark! The whole hotel was small and dark. Clealiness of the room was questionnable with stains on carpet, dirt on tiles etc... No services in the hotel. I mean, this hotel offered a box of condoms to it's guests... We ended up at the Sofitel after 1 night there. The Aircon was blowing hard the whole night, we bearly slept because of the noise. This was after upgrading the room from the shoebox we had initially, with a view on a wall! In comparison, the Sofitel was actually cheaper and a full service 5 star hotel, they even gave us a room with a view on the empire state building! What a total rip-off the Royalton was. The whole look and feel of the place just seems right if you are paying for company while in the city... We do not recommend it at all. My friends tell me the Delano in Miami is worth it, and I know the sister hotel in London. Just never stayed there. Now I know I won't be staying at any of these again.
Always liked this hotel for its location, comfort and cleanliness.
The hotel is still nicely located, main lobby is great, but the rest of accommodations need to be updated for cleanliness and newness.
Staff Location Comfortable Beds Lively atmosphere
No free wifi in bedrooms No tea and coffee making facilities in the room (we English NEED tea)
Loved the ambiance in the lobby and the modern decor in my room. The hotel is very comfortable and may be a good choice for a romantic night. Breakfast in the restaurant was good. I found the staff in all departments to be extremely efficient and courteous.
