Royalton, A Morgans Original  

I have stayed at the Royalton a few times and love the friendliness and personal attention the staff give you. They accommodate to every detail and need to try and make you stay enjoyable. Thank you to the staff at the Royalton Hotel in New York from Shaun and the other gentlemen at the door, to Jason and Robert at Concierge who went out of the way making our stay enjoyable and to Jeff and the staff in the Restaurant who made my family enjoy every meal we ordered.

The hotel was in the most appropriate position and it has an intimate and personal vibe that allows you to feel like you are attended to your every need. I love the design from the foyer to the individual rooms that I have stayed whilst visiting New York. Thank you.

Great hotel, great staff.

Unfortunately, it is very expensive.

Overpriced.

The room was not as beautiful as in pictures, fireplace could not be lighted, and we had booked this type of room due to this fireplace. Lifts and corridors look old while the rest (rooms, reception) try to be modern. Only one person in reception and long time to wait.

Nice staff and upgrade and location

This was terribly disappointing. The hotel was dark, with a vulgar bar crowd not for business people, upper floors in blue were depressing - terrible decor; rooms were poorly decorated for the same reason - dark depressing colors, no light to work, noisy air filter serving no purpose except there was no ventillation, candles in rooms are fire hazards, sinks were clogged, shower had no shower mat, etc. Therooms were clean but overwhelmed by very poor design and functionality - basically the decor lack of lighting and lack of attention to the real details that make a hotel for businessmen work (much less those stupid candles - which are dangerous) sunk the place -no reason to go back because in short one can't see anything in the place Not fun unlss you are blind or want to be treated as if you has such a misfortune.

i have been to the royalton many times and i love this hotel..beautiful, warm relaxing lobby and an amazingly helpful staff.. can't wait to come back for another stay

Convenient location. Larger than average room/suite size. Trendy design.

Bar snack menu could be more inventive...

1. I was charged $100 more for the room than I was told 2. There was a reserved party in the lounge so I couldn't use the facility (at 5:30 PM on thursday, Oct 20.) I went to the Algonquin instead. Because of this I will probably never stay here again, and I'll make sure I tell my associates as such. I feel like I was robbed,

Room was a good size and Bath Tub in the Deluxe room was huge. Overall the design was nice.

Hotel was incredibly dark, as soon as you walked in there is no natural light anywhere inside the hotel. AIso the floor we stayed on smelt like a smoking floor even though the hotel was a non smoking hotel. Too be honest I expected more as I've been to other Morgan Group Hotels.

having stayed before and enjoyed it, we looked forward to our return .We were not disapointed but felt the room was a little tired and the bed was not as comfy as before. However to be fair to you we are nit picking.The hotel was great the staff were friendly and effecient and the lobby moody and and swank.

Pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and bathroom. There was a sitting area, bed, desk and large bathroom. The bathroom had a large shower area (no tub). Most rooms that I have stayed at in ny have been quite small by comparison. The rooms were very spa like and modern. The bar area is very nice and seems to be hopping in the evenings. We did not eat there so no comment. The location was spectacular we were within walking distance of Time Square and a million great restaurants. I would recommend this hotel for it's comfort and location. Excellent choice!

The hotel is very dark inside and may not appeal to those that have vision problems such as catarcts and the elevator doors are very narrow and might be difficult to access for wheelchairs or larger people.There may be another acess for wheelchairs but I did not see one.

Location

Too dark and expensive

The Royalton was very well situated with respect to the major attractions like Times Square, 5th avenue and Central Park. The atmosphere was fun, but not for hanging out during the day. The room was well-appointed with everything you might need during a short stay.

The hotel is very flashy and attracts a sophisticated crowd, but nowhere to enjoy the outdoors and the lobby is very dark. Location is good, but there are no facilities on the street to park while loading or off-loading. Hotel is not well marked but this is probably part of the cool factor. Ipad in the room is also very cool, but can be confusing to request services. This should be improved.
